Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Parking charged a disgusting £10 on arrival. Took your car keys off you if they needed to move it!! Nobody drives my car. Are they insured to do so. How dare they. Reception area was locked through the night if you needed with your keys locked inside. No reception through the night. Room tired and small. Bathroom only a shower small and dingy and old mouldy shower. Noise until early hours of the morning outside the window from the pavement. The bar area was chavvy. Regret booking was a waste of money. Smelt of paint. Karoke in the eating area. It was like Blackpool. No class. Staff scruffy looked like cleaners.Unprofessional all round. Glad to leave which was hours before departure.

The room was ok but dirty, old sticky sweets underneath bed & hairy/dirty sofa bed. But the most horrendous, unhygienic, filthy, stained mattresses,I regretted not checking before sleeping on them. Very stained & a health hazard,we wondered why we were itching all night! Our room was next to the lift & was making strange noises all night. On leaving the property I told the receptionist and all she could say was “I’m sorry!” Nothing else offered to help or compensate our 1night stay for £94!! It’s a shame because we have stayed before but will not be returning. I also emailed the hotel when I got home & explaining everything & not even replying or phoning. Disgraceful

We booked the large sea view double room with a sofa. The room was quite large, but as it was on the ground floor the view was more of the road than the sea. The room was not clean, and there was black mold in the bathroom. The hotel runs entertainment in the evenings and the noise from in the basement function room travels all through the hotel. We heard bingo and karaoke till past 11pm, not great when travelling with a toddler. We asked that they turn it off or down, but was told as they advertise entertainment they could not. You could also hear the traffic noise from the street outside. Windows are not double-glazed or soundproof. The next day we asked to move rooms but they only had small double rooms on the top floor available and this would not fit the cot bed for the toddler. We said we would leave then and requested a refund for the next night, which to the credit of the manager was provided. Breakfast was not very appetizing, just a buffet of greasy food.

When we arrived we parked our large family car out the way of all the other cars piled up in the car park. When we checked in they charged us £10 for parking and asked for our car key to move our car if needed. Well… it’s safe to say we didn’t actually hand our car key in once we saw one of the hotel staff try to move someone else’s brand new car. (They didn’t even chase us up or ask us for our car key as I think they knew they would struggle to move it. (Our car is a pick up truck)). The car park cannot accommodate the about of cars they charge per stay. It’s absolutely outrageous! When we were “taken” to our room ( we were guided up the first flight of stairs with all our stuff with our 4 children and our dog) to then be told we needed to go up 2 more flights of stairs and our door was the second door through on the left and when we entered it sprung straight back in our faces / the door to our room was directly infront of it making incredibly difficult to open and allow us to move freely. THEN, when we actually entered the room - it was filthy. The floor hadn’t seen a hoover since last year by the looks of it and the feel of it beneath our feet - it felt grubby! When my children opened the drawers under the bunk beds they were sleeping in, there was a large clump of hair left and the other drawers in the bedroom there was a dirty used vape and rubbish found. So, clearly the rooms only have a bed change and not cleaned in the slightest! I had to clean the bath properly before running it as there was also hair left from the previous people who stayed and the floor was filthy too. The place wasn’t clean in the slightest! It’s such a shame as it has potential to be a lovely hotel but it’s massively let down by the cleanliness of the whole place. Our dog was cleaner than the hotel!!

Starting positively, staff were helpful to a point though lift out of order and didn’t offer to carry bags! They did come in early for breakfast. We ate there one evening and food was nice. Bar was reasonably priced. You had to leave your car keys with reception who then played Tetris moving cars around! No room service offered as standard, apparently to maintain privacy. The rooms were really basic and cheap beds. Windows needed all the black grout removing.
