From the minute we pulled up to be warmly greeted by Nikki to the minute we left we were looked after like royalty. She was soooo good with our dog Barry and he settled straight into his bed as soon as we got into our room. The room was a perfect size. Very clean and very comfortable. A place for everything we had brought with us. The property itself is, as suggested in the name, a stones throw from the beach. Apart from not having a sea view (which, let's face it isn't important as you shouldn't be spending anytime apart from sleeping in the room) this is perfectly placed. In better times you are close enough to restaurants, shops etc but far enough away to not be disturbed by those enjoying themselves later in to the night 😁🍺 Breakfast was perfectly cooked by Pete, served however you prefer it. So to sum up, dog friendly...and then some. Very clean and very pleasant room. Super breakfast to set you up for the day. Marvellous.

This was the second time we stayed since August and both times were perfect. Nikki and Pete could not be more welcoming and eager to please with little touches like home made biscuits or cakes on arrival with a bottle of water, tea/coffee facilities and fresh milk if you want it. Having stayed in two different rooms, they are clean, comfortable and with a great and varied choice for breakfast, what more could you want. The position of the guest house is ideal and having its own parking is worth its weight in gold. If you want a modern, flash hotel with all the amenities then this is not for you, but if you want a clean, comfortable, friendly and convenient place to stay, then you can't beat it.

Hi guys Thanks so much for another great review! We're really glad you enjoyed your stay with us again and could give you a good base whilst helping your daughter and her move. Fingers crossed that has all now gone through, and we may not have you to stay again, but please pop in and say hi next time you're down. All the best, Nikki & Pete

Just had a lovely couple of days staying here. Needed somewhere to stay that was dog friendly as we don’t like putting our “little fella” into kennels, luckily we were able to book here for a couple of nights. Lovely room, nice and clean and tastefully decorated. Really quiet at night considering it’s so centrally located, on-site parking is also a big plus. Hosts are lovely and really go out of their way. Great breakfast. There were a few other people staying and they didn’t have dogs so it’s not just a dog friendly guest house but a lovely place to stay, it’s literally 60 seconds from the beautiful Weymouth beach. If you can, buy some of the Dorset Apple cake from the hosts. They gave us some to take away and I so regret not buying any as it’s the best apple cake I have ever had

Hi guys Thank you so much! This is such a lovely review to read and covers everything we would hope that guests enjoy. It was an absolute pleasure to have you and your little fella to stay. As you say, we love our two legged guests just as much as our four! Glad you liked the cake, and please let us know if you need some Dorset Apple cake posted to get you through the lockdown! Look forward to seeing you again in the future. All the best, Nikki & Pete

Such a great place! Only one block back from the sea front and 5 minutes’ walk from Sea Beats, a superb seafood restaurant. Stones Throw is impeccably clean and Covid safe. Delicious breakfasts with loads of choices. My dog and I stayed for a couple of nights and were made very welcome, even with a dog bed and bowls with her name on. Situated down a side street and only minutes away from Radipole Lake and Reserve for quiet walks. Free parking at the guest house in the centre of Weymouth was an added bonus. Highly recommended. Can’t wait to return!
