The Gresham is a family-owned and run guest house built in 1827 and situated right on the famous Weymouth Esplanade opposite the beautiful sandy beach and just around the corner from the picturesque harbour. Under new ownership from February 2021, The Gresham is currently being refurbished throughout. Our position on the Georgian seafront, close to the railway and bus stations, offers the perfect seaside getaway, a world away from the stress of modern life with many traditional British seaside treats on offer such as Punch and Judy shows, a land train, pedalos, and the popular child-friendly beach. The hotel caters to couples, families, and individuals in single, twin, double and family-sized rooms. We are also conveniently located for super countryside walks as well as strolls along the beach plus bike rides, water sports and other tourist activities along the iconic Jurassic coast. Nearby there are many attractive places to visit including the historic town of Dorchester, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Portland with its lighthouse. We are just minutes from some of the best cafes, restaurants, and bars in Dorset with freshly caught fish being a speciality of the town.

What a fantastic guest house. A very warm welcome from the owners Louise and Steve. Lovely room with sea views and tasteful furnishings and decor. The bed couldn’t have been more comfortable. Good sized fridge and tea/coffee making facilities in room were more than welcome. The breakfasts were top notch, cooked to perfection and well presented. Good selection of cereals, yoghurts and juices too. The whole building has clearly undergone extensive renovation and feels fresh and clean. The beach front location is perfect and beach towels are also provided. The owners and their team of staff are all very friendly and clearly passionate about providing a fantastic experience for their guests. If we visit Weymouth again we will not consider staying anywhere else.

My partner and I visit Weymouth several times a year for 2/3 day breaks, always staying in one of the b and b’s on the esplanade. This was without doubt the best. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, the room and communal areas clean and tastefully decorated whilst being sympathetic to the age and nature of the property. The place couldn’t have been more inviting. Our only regret was not having the breakfast. We’ve been bitten may times with inedible breakfast that we chose to eat out this time. The food smelt delicious and looked lovely. A breath of fresh air. Won’t be using booking.com again, will be going straight to The Gresham.

We came to this B&B as a last minute getaway for New Year but we will definitely be back and telling everyone we know about how lovely it was.
The owners were so attentive and the room was spotless with everything we could need for a short break. It was so lovely we stayed another night and we couldn’t have been happier.
The room was super clean, warm, and had great facilities including plenty of tea and coffee making facilities wardrobe space and a hairdryer and fridge. The bed was comfortable and the bedding spotless. Cleaning was obviously important here and Covid measures were in place in and out of the room.
We were even pleasantly surprised with a delivery of fresh coffee and tea and juice to our room in the morning to help us wake. What a lovely thing to do and a pleasant surprise after a night of celebrating the new year.
Parking was close by and easy and we were close to town without the noise so what a lovely stay.
Would highly recommend despite wanting to keep it a secret 😁

This is a warm and friendly run guest house, from the minute you arrive you are you are made very welcome. The staff were very polite and attentive.

It was immaculately clean, numerous hand sanitisers are at hand.

The décor is a delight, with an airy light feeling in all rooms.

The guest house feels more like a top notch hotel, the attentional to detail and the toiletries, accessories, facilities in every room are top class.

The breakfasts are to die for, local produce is locally produced, very fresh and really tasty.

The guest house is ideally located, various restaurants, pubs are within short walking distance, and the popular harbour area is no more than ten minutes away.

We went for a long weekend for a much needed break, we left feeling very relaxed and nicely cared for.

Thanks to all at the Gresham, for a fabulous stay, particularly Louise, the owner.

We stayed for 4 nights in August 2021, in the family room with sea view - room 11. It’s a great room for 4, the views were very special. Bonuses were the washing up pack (washing up liquid, scourer and cloth), well stocked tea, coffee and hot chocolate tray and bag of mini shampoo, shower gel etc. Plenty of cupboards and space to tidy away clothes and bags. Parking is also included for the duration of the stay in car parks fairly close by.
Excellent location for the beach, short walk to the shops and harbour. We loved watching the fireworks from the room on Monday night!
The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating, even with lots of sand being traipsed through the building! The servers at breakfast were also lovely. Friendly and efficient.
Fantastic breakfast-particularly the fresh Danish pastries, croissants and full English! Nothing was too much trouble for Louise, who made our stay so relaxed and easy. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend it to others. Thank you Team Gresham for another epic stay in Weymouth!

Owner Louise is a lovely lady, helpful and very accommodating. You want for nothing here. Everything was wonderful. Gorgeous, clean, spacious, light room, excellent linens and bedding, tea area with a variety of hot drinks, sweeteners, milk, and biscuits. We were impressed with little details that were very thoughtful. Specifically, we were each given a little bag of toiletries, and a kit for washing your cups in the room. Adheres to Covid rules and hygiene making us feel safe.

Dining room overlooks the Weymouth Bay, bright and spacious. Great variety of cereal, yogurt, fruit, croissants, jams/marmalade. Excellent full English breakfast, also accommodating vegetarian, vegan and gluten free guests.

Within walking distance to the center of town. Would stay here again.

We stayed at the Gresham for two nights (room 11 , family room). The greeting from Louise was very friendly, the room was spotless & decorated to a high standard, the complimentary tea/ coffee & toiletries included everything we needed & the robes & slippers added a luxurious touch. The TV was a good size & the views overlooking the bay were stunning & it was lovely to watch the sunrise from our room. The fridge was a much needed appliance to store milk & my daughter's medication. The breakfast was fantastic, & the locally sourced gluten free sausages were a hit with my daughter. The selection was vast & the waitress service was friendly & attentive. A great stay, we will definitely be returning soon. Thank you.

Myself and my fiancé stayed at the Gresham Guest House on Saturday-Sunday whilst I did the Weymouth Half Marathon. Louise was amazing with the communication up to our stay. As I started my run at 0800hrs and breakfast wasn’t till 0830hrs, she made us breakfast for our room at 0700hrs as she knew I was running it and allowed me to shower after the run for a late checkout, even offering my a bacon sarnie after!

Room was so clean, beds were so comfy, all modern and the perfect location to explore Weymouth from if you were staying here as the hotel is right on the beachfront.

Thank you for having us and we had a great time and well taken care of!

Myself along with my husband and child have recently stayed at the Gresham guest house , on arrival we were greeted by their lovely, Friendly and helpful staff who showed us to our room . Myself and family like to stay at hotels regularly so we were wowed by the cleanliness of our room . It was actually spotless, with lots of little extras like a clean dressing gown and slippers, a mini fridge with cold milk on arrival along with toiletries in a wash bag for our stay . They have thought of everything to make your stay more comfortable.
Breakfast was quality food, the sausages were especially meaty and delicious. With all of this along with it having a perfect location for the beach and shops We will definitely be returning as soon as possible. Highly recommended.

I stayed in a en-suite, single bed room with sea view. The Gresham was spectacular to stay in, spic and span, central yet quiet and Karen and Chris are top notch hosts, always ready to help and give you spot on advice only a local can do.

Will definitely come back!!
