Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was driving back to the caravan site when spotted the Jasmine chinese take away so the wife parked up. Ordered the take away and told 30 minutes due to being a Saturday night, so saw the red lion and popped in for a quick pint, the pub was quite busy as the football was on the teles. My wife popped to the loo whilst i ordered the drinks and the barmaid saw i walk with a stroller so kindly found me a empty table and bought the drinks over for us. If we hadn’t got to pop back to get the Chinese we would have stayed longer

This was my first time in the Royal Oak for New Years, we planned to do a pub crawl but we didn’t need to go in any other pub, as the Royal Oak had a great atmosphere, great bar staff and excellent music. It was the best New Year and I’ll definitely be returning to the Royal Oak.

Stayed here 12th November for a couple of nights, we found it to be comfortable & warm, the pub its self was a typical local pub, very friendly, it was ideal for a visit to Weymouth, we enjoyed our stay and will come again, the rate was very reasonable Recommended

After visiting this place often we will no longer be visiting again due to having men using the ladies toilets. This is something no young girl or women should have to witness. Please be aware if you plan to stay here that this does happen and how any perverse man can identify as a whatever just to use the ladies toilets.

Visited a couple of times on Monday (went off to get something to eat, then returned) Was a nice little pub, friendly atmosphere, pretty cheap drinks, nice garden with lots of space to sit. The only thing I had trouble with was the tao in the ladies is a sensor one & I couldn't get it to work, luckily there was a bottle of sanitizer available next to it which I used instead. Defo worth a visit.

Absolutely filthy, in desperate need of clean and refurbishment. We had to leave early and pay for another hotel. We tried to discuss with the owner and Booking.com for a part refund bit wasn't interested . Wait till you see the photos. Horrendous!

Good location for getting into Weymouth centre, bus stop just down from the pub service very regular or 10 minute walk. Secure parking for bikes. Good sized room, clean and warm. Decent beer on tap, proper locals pub.

Stayed here for 1 night on 29th oct. We arrived a couple of hours early so asked if we could leave our car in car park while we went off but was told our room was ready which was a bonus. We stayed in room 5 which was a building on its own in the garden. I loved this room. The bed was so big and comfy. There was plenty of tea and coffee and hot chocolate. I also noticed a hair dryer and a fan. Plenty of storage. We didn’t use the actual pub as we were meeting friends in the town centre but it looked nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend the room and would definitely come back again

Stayed here a couple of nights - The first night was comfy, however the next day we had a text to say we had move from one room to another which wasn’t a problem but what annoyed us was the fact that staff actually moved our belongings! This is personal stuff and we don’t appreciate it being handled. Despite there being signs in the rooms to keep the noise down to respect our fellow neighbours, people are still in the beer garden causing noise! The hotel location is good, around a 20 min walk to seaside - however we wouldn’t stay here again.

Came here a few times as was staying close by, it’s real old school, good beer and crisps, the place has got some age , plenty of outside seating and a garden, no food available and there are rooms for rent, a good easy going pub close to the Rembrandt Hotel 1 min walk.
