Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In simple terms, a tip. Room was not clean even though we were told it had been cleaned. Unflushed toilet greeted us and the bed was badly made and the bedding was grim and still looked unmade. When we asked where the wardrobe was we were told that a small rail just above the floor was the wardrobe. My wife’s long dress and my trousers had no chance! Despite advertising rooms with wardrobes, look at their photos and you will not see a wardrobe anywhere! The carpet outside the room was tacky and looked like it was fitted in the 70’s. The staff were not interested in our complaints and refused us a refund when we left.

Booked for a overnight stay from buy a gift and was charged £10.00 per person for a continental breakfast which we paid as extra as the stay was a present from our son. It also specified free parking. Upon arrival we found it had changed its name from Mon Ami and was now called the Jubilee, also there was a charge for parking which was £10.00. We paid this and had a lovely meal in the resturant. In the morning we found out that the breakfast was free and part of the room package so was extremely annoyed as felt we had been ripped off in owing £20.00 for a piece of toast and a coffee. When speaking to the manager and showing her your website which shows English breakfast as £9.95 per person we were told it was in fact £5.00 per person paid at the hotel. The manger when looking at the website was astonished at the prices shown, so either the buy a gift website or the hotel management don't communicate with each other or they are incompetent. Also about 4 other couples had the same problem as us. Would recommend visiting weymouth but possibly staying at somewhere who advertises the correct things they advertise .There also was no apology or compromise made. The lady on reception was so rude, unfriendly and stared me out with a scowling expression on her face throughout the time my husband tried to explain what had happened in a polite and friendly manner. The whole experience spoilt our mini getaway

Visited here for a two night stay, was extremely disappointed in the services provided. Lack of communication was key, staff need more training. Certain parts of room needed more TLC. Had sea view but was mainly of the main road, windows are not double glazed could hear everything outside. Reception of hotel is at back of building without much warning. Parking onsite cost extra. Breakfast was overpriced and lack of options. Beds were adequate. Location was ideal close to town centre and beach front. Overall would not return but has the potential to be better

Continental breakfast was not what I expected. Only toast, yoghurt and fruit. Continental should be Pastries, sliced meats, rolls, yoghurt and fruit as far as I recall as in Europe very disappointed. No shower gel - empty, no shampoo at all. Sheets do not fit the beds pillows are very lumpy and hard. Curtains were hanging off the rail. The fire alarm went off while we were in our room at about 17.10 and went out to find out what was going on only to be told "don't know". There is no way to announce what's going on also no phone in room either. Found out could have been someone smoking or they said someone's deodorant - really.

Stayed two nights in a very small double room. The furniture was tired and several drawers were falling apart. The wi-fi was too weak to use and the room had no reception on either of our mobile networks. The television reception was poor. The room was basic without water glasses. Parking at the hotel was £10 a day, although they have a couple of passes for public car parks about 10 minutes walk away. The continental breakfast was cereal and toast, not pastries. On a positive note the room was clean and warm and the staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel is NOT disabled accessible. A wheelchair and/or mobility scooter will NOT fit in the elevator. I cannot comment on the disabled rooms. I attempted to call, email, and fb message but couldn't get anyone to respond and therefore couldn't request a disabled room. The small double room didn't accommodate my mobility needs. It was very very small. Since I couldn't fit my small mobility scooter in the elevator, I used my 2 crutches. However, the electric went out and I couldn't use the elevator. I had to ascend and descent narrow uneven steps. There are 2 elevators and the one in the restaurant was just as bad. You had to go through multiple doors that were not electric. Therefore I had a very difficult time accessing my room, even when the elevator was working. There are only 5 parking spaces which you cannot reserve. There was no disabled parking. Please remove your disabled access from your website because that is a false misrepresentation. I was in so much pain by the end of the first day that my trip, and those with me, was miserable.

really enjoyed my stay here the staff were very friendly and welcoming , the seafront room was clean , the bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. we ate both evening meal and breakfast on site , the food was amazing my partner is very fussy and did not complain about anything . only reason i did not give 5 stars was parking is very limited and had to park about 5 mins away , but this a problem with weymouth rather than the hotel , and there isnt an option for 4.5. The staff are a credit to this hotel.

Absolutely horrible. The main door was locked and the entrance was down the side street and round the back into a hastily erected reception looking like a taxi office. It's not a hotel it's a B&B with a makeshift room acting as a restaurant. Thank goodness we cancelled dinner there and went to the Italian across the road in the building that looks like a shoe factory. There were kids running around the corridors presumably while their parents were in the 'bar'. The corridors and lift were grotty and dirty and by the time we reached the room we knew we had made a big mistake. The bathroom was a tiny box with no toiletries and a shower full of black mould. The room was basic with a balcony overlooking a busy road and the 'shoe factory' building in front of the beach. The balcony is an ashtray. All the 'hotels' in this row are marked by groups of people hanging around in front of their stylish accommodation smoking. The TV didn't work, the WiFi didn't reach the room. This was part of our South Coast staycation tour. 2 nights in Bournemouth (Royal Exeter hotel - very nice), 2 nights here and 2 nights in Torquay (Livermead Best Western- superb). We begrudgingly went for breakfast which was chaos. No one was checking guests so anyone could have gone for breakfast where guests were really left to fend for themsleves. All tables were taken so we and another family took ours into a side room to sit and eat it. Then we packed, left the key on reception and walked, very happy to be leaving even though we lost the money for the second night. A horrible place. Go somewhere else.

My young son and I have just stayed at the Mon Ami for a night and after reading the reviews we were pleasantly surprised! Our room was decorated nicely, it was clean, bed was comfy, bathroom was very spacious and clean. We used the in house restaurant, the Three Chimneys, for dinner as we were tired after a day of adventures, it was lovely! The food was cooked perfectly, my son ordered for the kids menu and he loved his dinner too. Very cheap prices too, especially for a hotel! It looked to me like the hotel was undergoing an overhaul and being refurbished, but all areas that we saw were nicely done. The reception entrance is a bit weird, going through the back of the hotel, but the receptionist was lovely, and even though there was a mix up with our room things were dealt with smoothly and efficiently. The £10 per night for parking I feel is a bit steep, but I get after covid that the hotel has overheads to pay etc… However, I feel that the hotel has had a bad rap on here and we both enjoyed our time at the Mon Ami. We would stay again, it’s a good base to use for exploring Weymouth.
