The Hotel Prince Regent is an attractive seafront property on Weymouth's historic esplanade with views across Weymouth Bay and the craggy Dorset Jurassic coastline beyond. The Hotel Prince Regent is regarded by many as the leading Weymouth seaside hotel. It's perfect for singles, couples and family holidays alike. It was purpose-built in classic Georgian style, but inside you'll see we've moved with the times and offer comfortable accommodation with free Wi-Fi access in all bedrooms and public areas. And with nightly performances in our beautiful Georgian ballroom - fully restored at a cost of nearly £100,000 - you'll always be entertained. Families are well catered for, with guest accommodation that can sleep up to five people. We are handily located close to the town centre, which is a 10 minute stroll along the seafront. With a sandy beach on the doorstep, this is the perfect spot for a traditional seaside break. Guests return time after time because of our high standards, seafront location, proximity to Weymouth town centre and great facilities.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed on a Daish's Sunday to Thursday coach holiday. I was allocated, as requested, a top floor single room, which had a sea view, was very quiet and suited me perfectly. All the staff were friendly and efficient especially at meal times which was not easy for them as the hotel was fully booked at the time. Food was generally good, with plenty of choice and adequate portions. Entertainment was provided nightly, but I did not attend any on this occasion, so cannot comment. I enjoyed my stay very much. Thank you.

On first arriving found the hotel to be clean and was really nice bedroom with sea view was excellent.heating in the corridors was simplt to hot.entertainment was excellant and the barman lee was first class.the food was the big let down anded up eating out for breakfast and evening meals one evening we were served with black potatoes and raw cabbage.there was a large group from plymoth staying and one lady approached the older receptionist to complain .she was told that she would get back to her bud never did and was quite rude to this lady.our waitress was a nice young lady and very apologetic about the food.quite simply daishes need rethink the kitchen and start serving decent edible food even if it means increasing prices a bit.as so many people were complainig about it.we would return as the hotel was nice but only if the food is improved

We have been to 6 daishs hotels over the winter and this is the one with the worst kitchen service. Our evening meal used to last over 75 mns with long gaps between each meal. Breakfast was over 1hr. On leaving day our coach was to leave at 9. the porridge was tepid and lumpy. Our English breakfast did not arrive till 8.45. It was not the waiting staff at fault.they were waiting for the kitchen to get it ready. No complaints about the rest of the hotel, just the kitchen.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry that some elements of the holiday were not up to our usual high standard. We apologise for the delay in serving breakfast on the departure morning. We do have a number of new staff members who are still in training and this is having a knock on effect. We appreciate the feedback and will do our best to address the issues raised.

Stayed in Hotel Prince Regent with my other family, I went with Daish Coach company. Room was so old really needs updating big time . Bathroom so small radiator was boiling hot, but eventually I spoke to reception and it was finally turned off. Then the bedroom was cold as that radiator don't work, bed was ok (prefer my own). The corianders in the hotel is unbearable so hot they need to safe heating!!! Well food what can I say I will be here forever, its always so cold, not cooked enough,I like hot food. Its very small portions, if your a man it will not fill them up,more like a kids dinner. You do put requests on your pre order food it's never followed ( it's on paperwork not hard to read it). Some staff are friendly and helpful, but others are not. I did need some nice people in the hotel so that was nice. Weymouth is a lovely place and plenty things to do and see, entertainment is not my cup of tea... I have been to other hotels with Daish Coaches before but this is the WORST.....

Stayed here for Easter. Pretty shambolic ~ we had to ask for clean towels every day and literally dump our wet ones at reception to get them replaced as the cleaner 'forgot 'to service our room. Staff are not that friendly and spotting one is rarer than seeing a unicorn. Food and entertainment was generally good although service was really slow - especially at dinner. We had a refurbished room but it was like walking through a building site to get to it - health and safety would have a field day here! Location was great, as was the weather so all in all an OK stay but definitely much better Daish's hotels available so won't return.

We have just had a weeks stay at the prince regent in March. Not the ideal weather for a seaside break, But the hotel was good, the staff helpful and friendly the food was ok, entertainment not much variation our room was big and comfortable, if your looking for a cheap break half board Weymouth is ideal. Because the weather was rough we decided to go on a daishs coach trip which was very well organized and worth doing.

Had a lovely time at the prince regent, we were on the 4th floor; room small but only in there for sleeping so although we could be picky in saying bathroom needs some tlc & curtain rail was hanging off it wouldn’t deter us from staying again, if your a taller person then I’d think you’d struggle with low ceilings. Food was good, some days quite a wait, all accords who you had serving you. Good entertainment on an evening, Prime location on seafront, would definitely consider another hol here. Self drove, lucky enough to get a space arriving about 11.30, very limited spaces available. Very friendly helpful staff, what we paid we couldn’t fault it .

The hotel is situated in a great location on the sea front. The hotel is tired and in need of a paint up which they have started to do. Our room had a great view out and was clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was a let down with a very small shower cubicle and one of those horrible clingy shower curtains. The toilet lid was propped up against the wall. To be fair this was quickly fixed when we informed Reception. The bathroom needs a complete make over. The menu was limited but the food was generally ok although the fish we had one night was tasteless and the vegetables were generally overcooked. The waiting staff were lovely and particular thanks to Roy who was brilliant and the manager said that he had only been there a week. The ballroom was really impressive and the evening entertainment was very good, particularly Nick Carter who we saw twice. I was even persuaded to play some Bingo which is very unlike me. Generally, we had a lovely time with our group on the Bowls tour. The new Manager welcomed us to the hotel and came and saw us before we left. Well done.
