Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have returned today from a weekend stay at this great hotel. All the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. All rooms very clean and bright. So much choice for meals, the best I’ve experienced and even had smoke salmon for a starter. The hotel deserves so much more than 2 stars, I have stayed in worse 3 and 4 stars. Thank you for a great holiday will defo be back.

The hotel is located within a short walk to the beach, shops, cafes, pubs, clubs and restaurants, everything we wanted from a weekend away in Weymouth. The hotel is clean, nicely decorated and staff are welcoming. Our double bedroom, number 12, was very clean along with the bathroom. The restaurant is bright and airy and breakfast was lovely. The restaurant staff are friendly, and had no hesitation in organising vegetarian sausages when I asked if they were available. The bar has a modern look with plenty of seating. There was entertainment in the ballroom every night which seemed to satisfy the coach groups. There is a guest lounge on the first floor which was nice to sit in and relax and watch the world go by. Although we didn’t want our room servicing during our stay, the housekeeper always asked if we needed any tea/coffee, milk, toilet rolls etc. If parking at the hotel isn’t available, there is a nearby multi storey car park with reduced rates if you ask for your parking coin to be scanned at the hotel Reception. The only negative comment I could make, and no fault of the hotel management, is that guests stood blocking the entrance doorway whilst smoking. In our opinion the hotel couldn’t be faulted on anything when you consider it is a 2-star hotel and the price we paid. We wouldn’t hesitate to return to The Crown when staying in Weymouth again……the location is perfect!

Ideal location near town (and Wetherspoons Fantastic food, all home cooked, even the pie is a pie, not a bowl of stew with puff pstry lid like so many lazy chefs. I recomend the pork loin, a half inch thick steak that melts in the mouth' We had five evening meals and every one was perfect. Love to list them but running out of room but belive me you will not be disappointed

Just returned from a midweek coach trip. Did my usual "Tripadvisor" check on the hotel which gave good reviews which proved very accurate. The Crown is well located to Pubs, Clubs and shops. ( May be a bit TOO close in summer and particularly if your room is located at the front.) Staff where friendly and very efficient. Just one "tiny" gripe" in the restaurant. We were at table number 17 and strangely appeared to be missed out on a couple of occasions. Particularly at breakfast on the Friday of our last day. Other tan that our stay was excellent despite the weather and I would be very happy to return.

Location good for town, although noisy beyond belief at night!!! Not the hotels fault and they try with triple glazing. Check in staff have a humour bypass but are effective. Car parking is good if booked. If not........ good luck!! Rooms are small, hot, and typically seaside low standard. Mattress in my room particularly poor. The owners should try spendimg one night in a Premier Inn!!!!!!! It's an industry standard now. That's just the way it is, get used to it. Breakfast poor compared to local Cafe's, although staff are awesome. Up your game Crown hotel and move on from 1980!!!!!
