Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel was tired as is to be expected of a building of that age. We had room 30 which although at the back of the hotel was very clean and functional. All the staff were very good, Vicky and Mark especially who were there biggest part of the time. Breakfast was lovely and set you up for the day, dinner at night was superb, great choice each day. We were on a turkey & tinsel break and had entertainment each night which was brilliant each night apart from the last night were he must have had an off day !!! All in all good hotel great staff! X

Stayed in a single room which had everything I needed for a one night stay. The weather was extremely warm the weekend I stayed so I was very glad to have two windows to open in the room - however that obviously meant there was quite a bit of noise from the nearby pub and road and people shouting out in the street in the early hours of the morning. The mattress wasn't the best quality but I did have a good night sleep. The room was dated, but for the price was good value. The breakfast was excellent value for money and really tasty. The hotel is in a good location near the beach and train station and an easy walk to the town centre.

Decided to extend our holiday in charmouth with a night in Weymouth Checked prices out on Internet & The Leam was very good value & dog friendly. When I rang to enquire I spoke to Vicky who was very helpful We Our check-in was simple, the room was small but adequate, little tired but fully functional ,even our pooch was provided with mat & bowls The bed was comfortable, shower excellent, breakfast was tasty & plentiful with good variety & excellent value at £7.50, the dining area is bright, airy, comfortable Vicky is an absolute diamond, nothing is too much trouble for her, friendly, efficient, thoughtful, a credit to the hotel We will be booking again next year

Friendly staff and a clean hotel, but very basic and could do with a refurb . Decor and rooms tired . We had a sea view room . The bed was adequate but the mattress was thin, had definitely seen better days & you could feel the springs. £120 for the night was expensive for what it was but I think that’s the going rate in Weymouth . Was fine for a night but wouldn’t rush back .

The hotel was both basic and hopelessly understaffed, luckily the staff who were on hand were both helpful and friendly. The evening meals were frankly just about edible, but the breakfasts were outstanding. I came with a coach company, but to be honest the hotel was not adequate enough to cope with coach holidays. Most of the time there were three members of staff who were run ragged, luckily the weather was nice so it was okay in and around Weymouth, but the hotel which up until we left received 22 complaints, so never again.

I travelled to Weymouth for a wedding we were a group of 10 8 adults 2 children. We booked at 3 rooms with sea view they were perfect. The other two rooms were smaller and at the back, the teenagers used them so they weren't too disappointed. The manager was wonderful and very helpful. The breakfasts were also perfect and all 10 of us were able to sit together, if we let the staff know.

Lovely hotel lovely helpful friendly staff decor very tasteful and fit for the seaside. The Dorset breakfast is top notch they even gave my assistance dog a sausage every morning I've been going to Weymouth for years its the most lovely people in this country even the taxi drivers all very dog friendly. I would definitely use The Leam Hotel again in the future best of all there is a lift which helps disabled visitors life easier. I wish i was staying longer 3 nights isn't enough oh and the cost for May is spot on!
