Detailed Reviews
Stayed in room 31 at the Leam Hotel as a last minute booking and it definitely did not disappoint. A stunning sea front view, spacious and clean bedroom accompanied by finishing touches such as bath robes, tea & biscuits, toiletries and fresh bottled water in the fridge every day. The staff were so welcoming and attentive giving us a list of the best places to eat and things to do during our stay. The breakfast was delicious with the option of continental and full English. We will definitely be staying again and would highly recommend this hotel to others.

We booked last minute (ie the day we arrived !) so knew the room was not one of the best in the hotel, it was basic with view over the roofs, the bathroom was new and perfectly functional. Carla was super helpful on the phone and Elliot who checked us in went out of his way to help with dinner reservation for us as everywhere so so booked up ! The doors all have fire closures on so there is lots of door slamming at all hours ! Breakfast is basic but nice and fresh but the system is confusing until you know the routine, maybe a member of staff explaining how it works on day one might be useful. However the reception area is spotless and staff were working hard to keep it clean. Overall a basic hotel with brilliant hardworking, friendly staff.

Thank-you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are sorry that you found breakfast confusing. We have had to make changes since the Government asked for more social distancing in the hospitality sector and sometimes these changes take a while to implement. We now offer full table-service at breakfast and each table has its own basket of continental choices too. We take pride in what we do and we really welcome feedback so we can make stays with us even better.

last time we stayed here the breakfast was included with the room price. Must have missed that this was no longer the case when booking. Also had to leave a £100 deposit for taking a dog which was also a surprise and the dog bed and water bowl which is advertised as provided did not materialise. Rooms are very tired but I suppose you get what you pay for and were clean although not sure about the kettle balancing on the back of the dressing table with a lead to an extension socket, as the dressing table was a couple of feet away from the wall, thought not very safe especially if children were there. As an old hotel we could hear the people above us walking around which they seemed to do a lot of! There also was a lot of noise from the pub in the street so no chance of an early night.

We are so sorry you had a disappointing stay with us. We are one of the few hotels in Weymouth that has some dog-friendly rooms and we would have been very happy to have rectified the missing dog bed and water bowl. We comply with extensive health and safety rules and will ask housekeeping to check on the points you made with the kettle immediately. If you had wanted us to move rooms for you we would have been completely happy to have done that for you, subject to availability. If you are still staying with us, please do make yourselves known to reception and we will do our best to help. We do charge for breakfast unless it is included in your room rate - but at £5 for a full English and as much as you like from our help yourself continental buffet table, we think we offer really good value for money.

Same old story: tha one hotel which only relies on the nice view, not caring about premises maintenance.
I can be ok with the old premises, as long as they get renewed every so often and in line with nowadays' standards! But no, like in many other similar hotels, the fact that you have a room with a view kind of "allows" the owner(s) to be sloppy in everything else, from big things to details.
And there was nothing to complain on the actual stay, nothing was broken or anything! It's just the whole thing that for min.£50-70 x night per person, it's more of an extortion IMHO. Our room was clean, everthing was working fine. There was also a minifridge but... with a opened bottle of water inside, and on the desk, a feedback sheet filled by the previous customer! Hello cleaners??? How can you not spot that? Of course we removed that feedback sheet ourselves (it was a pretty angry one btw).
Another thing that I would have liked would be blackouts curtains, because since it's all facing east, you can get sunlight as early as 5am! And PLEASE don't trust the Booking.com pictures!!! There is NO shower gown and welcome sweet on the beds as you get into the room. Fake advertising there? Also the walls are not soundproofed (not that it was advertised, but it seemed like NOT having walls at all!)
But the thing that disappointed me the most is definitely the cooked breakfast. Very poorly presented, with one fried egg, one sausage, one rash of bacon, few beans, fried bread. Not even the tomato, if I remember correctly. Obviously they cook all the breakfasts in one go before anybody even comes down, since it was served on our table literally 120 SECONDS after we sat.
Ok you have those "buffett-y" things like jams, couple of pastries and everything, but still.
Like I said before, another place which only relies on its view. I'm sorry, especially at that price, as customers we deserve better.

We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay. As you say, we offer a really good value stay in Weymouth and we noted that you didn't book one of our superior rooms which would have come with robes had you done so. We have taken up your housekeeping issues with our staff and apologise for our shortfalls here. We think our breakfast is really good so were surprised to hear that you had one rasher or bacon and one sausage as that is not how our Leam breakfast is served. Had you had concerns about your breakfast at the time, we would have been delighted to remedy anything with you - or indeed any of your other comments straight away.

Although they have renovated the furniture, the truth is that the hotel is trapped in the 80s, dark, small rooms with very old doors ...
The reception was closed every day from 6pm and you are the one who has to open the main gate, like in your house.
Although they have free wi-fi, the wi-fi receiver in our area did not work and although I asked for it on several times, they told me that they could not do anything until Monday, that added to the fact that our room was inside, we did not have internet.
It is not a room in which you feel comfortable.
The location is undoubtedly a value, since they are very well located and also allow dogs, something that we really appreciate.
In general price-quality (room, bed etc) ... not worth it at all.

After a long cycle ride we were allowed to keep our bikes in the room which was accessed by a very slow moving and cramped lift.
The room was a small twin (there was two of us) which looked out through a very dirty window and over roof tops.
The interior appeared worn and the bathroom had a strangely positioned and awkwardly tight toilet with a loose plastic toilet seat.
We were out and about a lot so the impact was lessened but as we were paying guests it was most certainly not value for money.
I am Vegan and had a challenging time over breakfast.
I had a child’s size bowl of beans, toast and four undercooked vegan sausages which gave me the ‘you know what’s’.
The second day I asked for extra beans so got another small bowl.
I asked for mushrooms, hash browns etc but was given a blank refusal.
I have taken the liberty of photographing the breakfast.
I even suggested they pop to the local shop....
Lots of repairs going on generally but I would say the staff were very nice so it’s a shame they are let down by poor management and lack of repairs/upgrading.
Weymouth is often full but move away from the sea front and get a hotel that gets it right - it’s your cash so give it to an establishment that cares about you.

We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay. We ordered vegan items especially for your stay and also accommodated your request to have bikes in your room - which we usually do not allow. Our rooms are not designed for bikes and people which is why yours may have felt smaller than usual. We have never had any complaints about our sausages before and assure you that all food is cooked to a high standard at the hotel by a very experienced chef. The breakfast items you suggest were unavailable are on offer to all guests and we are surprised you were refused anything as we take great pride in our customer service. We have reminded staff that this is the case and are sorry you were disappointed. If you would like to pop by for breakfast on the house when you are next in Weymouth, do let us know.

This B & B is just across the road from the beach, 5 minutes from the train station and town centre. It was clean, with lovely showers and plenty of hot water. If you want a sea view you will have to make sure you book a sea view, our view was of a wall but didn't bother us as we were out most of the day. All the staff were brilliant, couldn't ask for a more friendly welcome. Breakfast was good, bed comfy. Value for money

+1
Booked superior twin room photos on their site showed robes stick of rock reasonably large airy rooms, we were put in a very grey attic room with noisy sash windows,I asked if we had been given the right room as I had booked a superior one. And the receptionist said it's because I booked through booking.com, how is that their fault. Photos on leam site should say you could end up in an attic with 50 steps to your room. Lift had broken-down. Room needed decorating stains all over ceiling had to climb in a bath for a shower, hardly of any water came out the sink taps beds were awful, Only good thing was it seemed clean and the staff were nice.and great location. Forgot to say I'm disabled and mum is an unhealthy 82 Which made our stay even harder. did email them whilst there too, but no reply yet.

We booked a sea view deluxe double room the only thing deluxe is the sea view otherwise they are deluded to call this superior. Room was small outdated and everything had been painted grey and not very well, shower was more of a trickle but plenty hot enough . It was not as clean as it should be given COVID and breakfast was self service for tea and juices toast etc so you have to rely on other guests to have sanitised their hands! Overpriced rooms as you are paying for the view not the quality of the room and very noisy all night not from lovely crashing waves but a 3 way traffic system outside. Staff were nice and friendly and Carla went out of her way to get us a superior room, although I dread to think what the non sea view ones were like!!!!

Booked the hotel last weekend and was very dissapointed booked a sea view premier room.
The room was very poorly decorated and had mushrooms growing in the bathroom.
The info pack said breakfast was at 8-10 turned up at 9.40 and was told it closed at 9.30 and was too late and should have been told when we booked in.
Won't be back and think there are better hotels at that price just wish we looked before paying.

Don’t go to Lyme for fossil hunting as it’s so over hunted you’ll be lucky to find anything.
Instead check out Weymouth Fossil Hunters on Facebook and go out with Adrian in Weymouth who will take you to secret bays where you will find tons.
We have hunted with him as a family three times now and he’s superb. Slightly wacky but very very knowledgeable and great with kids. You’ll find so much!
