Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Didn't get chance to try the food because the bar staff are far too busy on their phones or chatting to regulars while you are waiting to be served. Then walked a few hundred yards to The Bridge pub and had fantastic meals on the two evenings we visited over the weekend!!

Easy to reserve, had variety with burgers, British classics and variety of meat. Little variety of desert however was made up with exceptional customer service with each member of staff showing a personality. Great value for money that allows people to dine at the pub along with daily customers that just want to drink and watch sport. However had 1 bad chicken nugget.

We stayed at the Spice ship for one night, room was compact but beautifully decorated. Lovely comfortable bed and immaculate bedding. The rooms have clearly been upgraded to a very high standard. There was noise from the road outside but earplugs were provided and after a long and eventful day it didn’t bother us. The breakfast was very good and all the staff were efficient and helpful. We hope to return again next year.

I visited with my family, such a great pub, friendly staff. The food was delicious. The beer garden and the children’s play area was a hit! The menu was varied and prices were reasonable. Thanks, we will definitely be returning. Five star! I have too many characters so just writing this at the bottom :-)

Booked the Spice Ship for a couple of nights great location for exploring the area. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The pub is fabulous and very clean. Great menu and food was reasonably priced. Breakfast was tasty but a choice of cereal as well as a cooked breakfast and may be some jam or marmalade with the toast might be a good idea. We had a great price for a family room for two nights. From other reviews we knew there would be some noise from the road but it wasnt too bad . The room was basic and clean but in need of some tlc and we couldnt get heating to work so a bit chilly. That said I would recommend a stay here even though it could do with a tweak or two because these businesses are still feeling the fallout from lock down and need all the support they can get.

Just back from a two day break with our dog to this interesting property with historical artefacts and pictures on a nautical theme. The room was small but clean and comfortable with en suite and all that you need. An evening meal was well cooked and tasty. The staff friendly and helpful. The full English breakfast looked well cooked and substantial although we chose lighter options. Plenty of car parking and access to bus services if required.up a flight of stairs to the accommodation but we managed fine even though we are not as fit as we were.
