Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed here for 2 weeks to work on myself & if my tag was left on my door for privacy I was not interrupted and my room was lovely and the shower was really nice, the bed was really comfortable & staff were very helpful and polite & breakfast good.

This has got to be the worst hotel in Weymouth, stayed in room 355 which is through a maze of corridors and is like being taken back to 1968 in a bed that has a mattress like a brick, I would of been more comfortable sleeping on the seats in the esplanade shelters, woke up with terrible back ache. Worst £119 spent.

My wife and stayed one night in the Fairhaven and booked a very reasonably priced double room with a sea view. Although the hotel is rated two star the room was 4 star plus, spacious with good storage, tea & coffee facilities and an excellent modern double shower in the en suite. The parking arrangement with the nearby multistorey car park worked well. As well as being on the seafront the hotel is close to the shops, cinema, theatre and restaurants. The help yourself continental breakfast was adequate with cereals, toast and croissants, but the icing on the cake, when we returned to the hotel after supper out, was the jazz singer (with saxophonist guests) who plays in the bar on Friday evenings. Thoroughly recommended.

The hotel had an excellent location close to the beach and harbour. The check in times are not long enough, which I did not notice until I booked, 4 until 9, very odd for a hotel. The receptionist was lovely. Rooms were OK, bit dated but new bedding, towels etc. Check out time 10, which again was odd considering you could not check in until 4.

Booked room in error on website which I found to be misleading - when I contacted them to ask them to cancel they initially agreed to but then changed their minds. Hugely disappointed. I wanted to amend my booking to the June date I thought I’d booked originally.

.....aaaand I was given not refurbished rooms. But of course. Let me start by saying that the temperature outside when I visited was almost below zero...so I appreciate the fact that the hotel is a very old building, but when we entered the room the heating was off and I assure you that this is not really a nice welcome in an hotel room. It was bloody freezing and the temperature in the corridors was too. In the bathroom there was a heater, but it wasn't working, so we asked the reception to fix it for us. He said he was working with the electrician to fix it but during our stay it wasn't fixed. Once we turned on the heating in the room it was fine and the bathroom took some of the room's warmth. The room was super small, barely 1 mt distance between the beds. Also, two people with two large bags and backpacks. How do you think we could fit in such a small room as that? Very uncomfortable. The furniture was old, there was no hair drier in the room and the wifi wasn't working in the back rooms. My mattress was terrible. We didn't try the breakfast, so I cannot comment on that. We did try the Indian restaurant and that was very good. Staff at the reception was very kind, I grant you that. Again, I appreciate that the hotel is a very old building, but still I think the rooms must be improved/refurbished too. Believe me, I am a frequent traveler, and I have a lot of good will and spirit of adaptation.

Had a lovely stay here. The hotel has the charm of an old building but kept well maintained, our room was big and had a tv which had netflix and disney plus. You could adjust the heating which was nice. Stayed for 2 nights and found the location was perfect. We would definitely stay here again.

First experience on arrival was good front desk lovely etc went upto room first glance OK but when got in settled noticed couple things like attention detail end of curtain hanging off coffee ring stains on bench patch on ceiling not painted over, not enough loo roll left so had to be aware what was used before staff would be back in should have more then enough so dont have to worry about when you go out for evening , found bed very small no extra pillows no phone to ring down to ask for things when needed something, no where to put wet towels and yes not hotels fault as such but very loud through night guest banging doors noisy beach front and for price of room if honest would expect breakfast.

Great hotel for the one night that we needed. Staff really friendly. Didn't eat at the hotel, but the food did smell good. Hotel is positioned right on the beach front. I would recommend this hotel.
