Lovely guest house with great friendly owners, nice room number 1 on the ground floor ,en suite . Good breakfast and choices. Location is great just a short walk to the beach and then a stroll into town .
We had an en-suite toilet and shower, which needs updating, the wash basin was in the bedroom. I realise with COVID-19 that times are very different, we had to have a breakfast brought to our bedroom, it wasn’t the best. We left feeling disappointed that we had paid a lot for what we got.
The owners were very helpful with the storage of my drugs as I had to have my cool packs refreshed evening and morning and accommodated us very willingly and also enabled my husband to surprise me with flowers on my arrival for our anniversary, we had the downstairs ensuite room during a very hot stay and the only thing I will say is that there is some noise from the road with the windows open full apart from that the room itself was very comfortable with all the amenities we required. They also did their best to accommodate us with fresh coffe and tea things at breakfast as they weren't allowed in to our room during our stay due to covid 19 rules and anything else we required.
So i will start off by saying the COVID situation is hard on every business, hotel’s not being an exception from that. I appreciate how hard it must of been to get this hotel back open. However.. This does not give the management an excuse for lacking service. Upon entry into the hotel you will see their ‘hand sanitiser station’ this is the only one that i saw in the hotel, the shared bathroom did not have one, our room did not have one. The breakfast we was informed upon arrival that it was sausage or bacon roll depending on what day it is, there was no choice, there was also no choice for the vegetarian option, this was accompanied with a bit of fruit and a juice carton. We was not informed about this before we arrived. We did not have a problem with this, it just would of been nice to have been told before arrival. I would like to say at this point, me and my fiancé are from Wigston in Leicester, which at this moment in time writing this is not in lockdown, people can come and go. On the second day, we was TOLD, not asked to leave because we were from Leicester and the other group in our party were told the same. With a 20 minute conversation with management and they realised they was wrong, no apology was given. We came for a wedding, one of our friends came to pick us up, he was rudely spoken to because his car was parked in the hotel carpark for no more than 10 minutes. The last morning, my fiancé was confronted by the management again and was given what i can describe as a grilling, because they had seen some one ‘young’ who they didn’t know go up stairs, because we were the youngest people in the hotel, it was clearly all her fault, she reduced my fiancé to tears with what she said. Which yet again no apology was given. Furthermore The carpark is way too small, there was two occasions we could not park there because there was way too many cars in the carpark. The pictures on this website are outdated and are really not an accurate representation of the hotel that it is today. It was way overpriced and overbearing. I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS.…
Great location for me and my God daughter for a few days as we did not need to drive anywhere. It was handy being walking distance from the local attractions and beach. Parking was availalbe on site and we had a quiet stay.
