Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The room we were given, no 1, was very old fashioned and nothing like the photos that showed modern bedding! The mirror was dirty, cobwebs were on the light shade and dirt in the corner of the ceiling. The room smelt. After we came back one day the window had been opened so we guessed that Jackie knew this. The bathroom left a lot to be desired. There was only a concertina plastic door to the bathroom and that didn’t close fully. We would not have booked if we had known this. The photo shows a proper door. The Lino was rucked up in more than one place, water damage maybe? The toilet seat didn’t fit and moved when sat on, the shower cubicle was scummy and crusty all around edgings, that grouting need completely replacing! And yoghurt offered for breakfast was out of date by 5 days. We think we were an inconvenience being there (the only guests) as we were inherited from the previous owner’s bookings. Jackie and Gary were waiting to go away after we checked out. There were other things not so good too but we are of the opinion that this is the first time Jackie and Gary have had a B&B and hadn’t yet got it right, or knew how to. We are also of the opinion that if you are going to pay to spend time in a B&B, that room should be equally, if not better, than what you already have! This wasn’t. The only good thing in their favour was the one site parking.

The Rosefield Guest House was clean and welcoming. We had a great welcome from the owner, Jackie. Who showed us to our room and also told us some facts and places to go in Weymouth. Room was clean and well kept. The Beverage Tray was well stocked. Bottle of water, pack of tissues and playing cards were a good touch. Breakfast the next two mornings was tasty and well cooked by Gary, the other owner.. served by a Friendly Jackie. Would definitely recommend and return to this lovely guest house in Weymouth.

Stayed here for three nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The guest house is only a short walk from the beach. The room was lovely and clean and well stocked with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Bob and Linda were the perfect hosts and the breakfasts were cooked to perfection with plenty of refills of tea, coffee, orange juice and toast offered. We were allowed to park our car here before check in on the morning of our arrival. Thank you Bob and Linda for a pleasant stay and your friendly company.

We had an amazing week at The Rosefield. The room was very comfy and spotless and the extra items Linda put in our room were well received. The change of duvet cover to a jungle one knowing we have a jungle garden made us smile !! The breakfast Linda cooked was perfect. Plenty of choice and Bob was always on hand to top up coffee/tea and orange juice and serve our food. Loved the fresh fruit and yoghurts too. Linda and Bob were perfect hosts and were always on hand if we needed anything. They were more than happy to store some large jungle plants for us which we had bought from the Abbottsbury Sub Tropical Gardens. Free car parking was an added bonus. Bus stop only 2minutes away and about a 10 minute stroll to the beach. A pure delight to stay at The Rosefield - thank you both.

I’ve stayed at this establishment twice now, and I can’t speak highly enough of the place and the owners. The rooms are tastefully decorated with comfortable beds. The breakfast is a portion and a half if you go for the full English, and very tasty too with regular tea/coffee/juice top ups. The hospitality of Bob and Linda is unbelievable. They are very tentative and even go an extra mile for me. I’m a musician who has played in Weymouth twice (DV8 at Finns). They are kind enough to store my equipment safely in their spare room. I’ve already booked a third visit for July.

Stayed there with sisters for a birthday getaway. Bob and Linda were very accommodating and very personable. Would definitely stay there again. Plenty to do even if the weather was a little cold and damp. The hotel next door served good food in the restaurant and had a nice bar.

Really happy with our stay. Easy to find. Parking very accessible. Hosts friendly and helpful. Rooms nicely sized and comfortable. Nice to see how attentive hosts have been to keeping the rooms supplied with complimentaries. Breakfast easily the best of the stay. Plenty of choice, amazingly quick service and always well cooked. Highly recommended for any sort of stay. Only thing we would say is maybe the beds could do with improving, a little bit rickety at times. Nothing major but always can be improved. Maybe that and the internet quality, but I don't think there's much that can be done there :) Overall, very much impressed.

My husband, Colin, and I have been visiting Weymouth for many, many years ~ and I have to say that this year was perfect in every way! Not only were we incredibly lucky with the sunny weather, but we stayed for the first time at the Rosefield. We were given a very warm welcome by Linda and Bob, and throughout our stay they made every effort to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our room was spotless, light and fresh ~ and the cooked breakfast, prepared by Linda, was beautifully presented, delicious and wholesome. I am especially grateful for the extra care that I was given regarding special dietary requirements ~ nothing was too much trouble. The Rosefield is situated a short walk from the beach, bars and restaurants, and benefits from a private car park. We are looking forward to staying again, and can thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone needing a relaxing holiday in Weymouth. Sue & Colin Sutton, Cheshire
