Great location, good comfortable rooms. Hearty Cumbrian breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Stopped in a standard room this time and they are clean roomy & comfortable. Have stopped in the suites and superior rooms previously and have never been disappointed. It's our first choice for stopping in Bowness. Great hotel for couples.

We had a lovely couple of days and stayed in the Sanctuary Suite. It’s in a separate building at the back of the hotel and if you are lucky enough to get a space, you can park right outside. The hot tub was great and I loved the bathroom. The room was nice, not really to my taste in decor. It was a bit Peter Stringfellow! I definitely think it would benefit from lighter coloured walls to make the most of the natural light and not flocked black wallpaper. Good selection of glasses in the bar area, a coffee machine and two mini salted caramel vodkas left for us was a nice touch. We really enjoyed using the hot tub and were lucky enough to get some lovely Easter sun whilst we were there. It would be nice if there were some trees or plants around the hot tub area as it’s a little sparse. There is a small sofa and a low table but a bistro table where you could sit out and eat or have coffee would be good out there as it does get the afternoon sun. The full size toiletries in the bathroom were fabulous and I treated myself to a body lotion, which you can buy from reception, when I checked out. Breakfast was good and delivered to the room which I wasn’t expecting! You chose what you wanted from the menu provided and handed it to reception before 9pm the day before. The food was good and well cooked although I do personally like to go for breakfast and chose and sit in a dining room. The Cranleigh is in the perfect location. Two or three minutes walk from town but quiet on a night other than the seagulls! The hotel has a few sister places where you can get discount on food and drink via the app. We had some lovely drinks in The Fizzy Tarte and can highly recommend the cocktails! I even bought a bottle of the Cherry Delight cocktail from the hotel, it was so good! It’s not a cheap place to stay. We could have stayed in the Italian lakes for what two nights here cost but we had a fab time so that’s all that matters! Bowness itself is a beautiful town, with lots going on. It’s great to sit outside the bars and coffee shops and just people watch. You are within 5 minutes walk of the lake side..The staff who we met were all helpful and friendly. I can’t recommend it highly enough and would love to return at some point in the future

We have stayed a few times at the Cranleigh, although this was our first time staying in the sanctuary suite. Brilliant detached room, just at the back of the hotel. The room was amazing, extra large comfortable bed ( huge head board ) . Great walk in shower , separate bath with a tv in the wall. The room has everything you need to enjoy your stay with the addition of a hot tub outside. It has a smart tv which is handy for when your chilling in the room. One small point : a little coffee table would be nice , just so you have somewhere to pop your cup/ glass on when watching tv. Breakfast is fetched to your room at a time you pick , plenty of choice to choose from and lovely. All staff are friendly and approachable. Will definitely be back to stay again

Over the course of two nights a group of friends and I took the time to get away and come the the Bon Vivant smart self catering villa in the lakes. Since the moment we arrived the property was in impeccable condition, inside and out, everything was cleaned to perfection. We used all the facilities the property had to offer including two huge air spar baths in two rooms which were amazing, each with their own tv’s, we also spent lots of time in the hotub outside the house facing the sunset and also used the cinema room located under the house which was phenomenal in every way, lots of movies to pick and even a PlayStation. The picture was amazing and sound felt like you were in the film. Overall my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend anyone wishing to stay here.
