Beautiful little traditional Victorian guest house within easy walking distance to either Windermere or Bowness. Run by a lovely, very hardworking couple who present a spotlessly clean property. We would definitely stay here again

The Elim Bank Hotel is on the main Lake Road as you head towards Bowness-on-Windermere. Although the outside looks "plain" the inside is quite the opposite. It is deliciously decorated with original wood panelling. "Mine hosts" - Margaret and Brian" are a delight and very welcoming. Rooms are clean, warm and cosy and en suite and the English breakfast is... More

Even in early October, Saturday night in Bowness-on-Windermere was heavily booked out, so this wasn't our first choice. The decor is certainly dated so it is functional rather than luxurious. However the stay itself was very pleasant: excellent comfortable bed, spotless linen and bathroom, a good breakfast and a very kind agreement for us to check out late so as... More

Really nice little place to stay. No complaints whatsoever. The B&B was a little dated but overall the place was immaculately clean and breakfasts were good after all you only use this place as a base. After reading some negative reviews prior to our trip I was a little wary on arrival. We stayed 3 nights we were greeted and... More

Reception was very poor. Was questioned on arrival by a gentlemen with zero awareness of how awkward his manner is. When I arrive for an overnight stay, I expect either they or the company we booked through to be on the same page as to when payment is required! So what we are now left with is 2 payments from... The family and I arrived, were booked in to a pleasant, clean and comfortable room by Brian, the owner, who has the qualities of an excellent old fashioned "mine host" and a music hall comic and his wife Margaret. The morning's breakfast, cooked expertly by Margaret, was excellent, as good a "full English" as any I have had, with as... More

This hotel is in a great location on the main road between Windermere and Bowness. We stayed for one night in the family room on the top floor which had two single beds for the kids tucked around a corner with their own tv. We had a tv as well and a comfy double bed. The room was very clean... More

Stayed here for one night, great location and nice little B&B. The owners are both lovely, very chatty. The only negative really is that as they are so friendly chatty, it was a little difficult to get away at times, and I can see why some people may feel a little awkward about that, but it didn't bother us. Rooms... More

Our room was very large (a double bed and two singles) and lovely and bright and clean. We only needed a one night stay and Elim Bank Hotel is one of the only hotels in Bowness which allows this on a weekend so we were very grateful for that. The owner was lovely and couldn't do enough to help us... More
