We are a Cumbria Quality Assured Guest House in the centre of Bowness on Windermere overlooking Lake Windermere & the Langdale Pikes. 11 Of our rooms are en-suite & all have showers & some have a bath & shower. Several of our rooms have magnificent lake views & we are just a short walk to the many bars & restaurants in Town. Prices include breakfast & we have free on site parking with free WiFi. The current owner has been in situ for many years & tries to make all guests feel relaxed & comfortable. We serve an a la carte breakfast that is sure to satisfy everybody's taste. Our location is central meaning virtually all Lake District destinations are less than one hour from our front door. Locally the towns of Kendal, Ambleside, Grasmere, Hawkshead and Coniston are easily reached as are the attractions of Windermere Lake cruises, Beatrix Potter, Dove Cottage, Blackwell, Brock Hole, Hill Top & Wray Castle. Some of the finest restaurants in England are here with Michelin Starred dining.

This B&B is perfectly located, next to shops and restaurants and 10 min walk to the lake. The breakfast is nice and with good variety, the rooms and the hotel in general is very clean and tidy. However, the windows have small gaps that allows the wind to get into the room.

Thank you for staying with us and I am pleased you had a nice stay. I will check the windows to see if they are draughty. They should all have window locks on. Thank you and I hope we will see you again. Danny

Hello, I find your attitude amazing. You clearly believe that your choice of words were not abusive or offensive and you fail to understand that it is not what you think that determines that but what others who heard you think. Guests around you were offended by your behaviour and complained to my staff. Your language was both rude and offensive. Not all of your comments were made outside the breakfast room and your abusive comments were made in reception whilst other guests were present. You know what happened and it is not me who is being economical with the truth. You advised my waitress that you were not staying a second night before you even spoke to me so your comment that it was my attitude that made made you leave early is clearly untrue. I addressed your complaint that the bacon was too well done by cooking your breakfast again only for you to complain that the second serving was under done. When I asked you how you wanted it cooked? You couldn't say. Your husband then mumbled somewhere in between!! I would remind you 22 other people enjoyed breakfast that day and I apologise for the disappointment you felt. However, the manner and language you used to express yourself was rude and abusive and I do not have to tolerate that. Your comments about the lake view are ridiculous as anybody who stays in Room 5 would agree. Your complaint that you couldn't see the lake from the doorway into the bedroom is ludicrous. A lake view room does not mean you can see the lake from every conceivable angle in the room. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay and I wish all the best on your future travels.
