Everything you need from a B&B, affordable rates, clean room, great breakfast and even better service! We stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting Bowness and have zero complaints. Hosts are spot on, welcoming, great knowledge of local area and very chatty! Will be returning in the summer so will look to book in again
Stayed here for a long weekend and we cannot fault the stay. The room was lovely and clean and well presented. The breakfast was delicious and the owners were really good hosts. Would stay here in again in a heartbeat. Really fantastic guest house and we really enjoyed our stay. Not too far from the centre, a great location.
We would like to thank Russell and Julie for their fantastic welcome. Julie upgraded our stay to their premium room without charge as my husband was probably too tall for the bedroom allocated . The guest house was spotless clean and I felt safe with the Covid measures in place. They were more than happy to recommend local places to eat and we were not disappointed. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order, you could have as much toast as you wished . I would say nothing was too much trouble and we felt very at home. Would recommend this guest house to stay as just a 15 minute walk to the lake. We will definitely return to stay .
Looking at practically every guest house/ hotel in the area I settled on this one due to number of wonderful comments about the owners. And they did not disappoint.. they were so lovely, accommodating and down to earth people. Even give recommendations and maps for local walks. I didn’t realise how perfect the location actually was. Walk down the street down left and your at the top of bowness bank. The guest house had parking outside (free) and 4 dedicated spots slightly further down the street. We managed to check in early end the room was clean and comfortable (no3) top floor. The breakfast was delicious, able to give times each day that suited us and our plans. Managed to sit in the same seat next to the window. We will return and thank you for a great few days away.
They took full payment off me before showing me the room I could see why they did this as soon as I opened the door to this tiny singe room. The door wouldn’t open fully as it was restricted by the 3/4 bed 4ft wide. The room was 8.3 square meters. The door to the en-suit also hit the bed. We requested to be moved to a larger room and would have been happy to pay for an upgrade just to get out of that tiny room. At first she said they had no vacancies, until I pointed out that room 6 had just left a day early. She then blamed Booking.com and said they just put bookings in her diary without asking and that we had got a good price. She then said she can’t turn a room over that quick and had booked the cleaner for the next day. We later seen her cleaning that room. The photos shows room door hitting the bed. en-suite door hitting the bed at the other side of the room. This clearly demonstrates how small the room is even with a 3/4 bed. If they had a full size bed it would be almost impossible to access the room or en-suit. photo demonstrates how small en-suite my leg and arm up against the wash basin whilst sat on toilet (demonstration purposes) photo shows the children’s wardrobe it clearly shows we could not hang any adults clothing in there. The fifth photo shows the lock on the door it was very difficult to open from both side and would fear for our safety in the event of a fire. photo shows cob webs that were all around the room. photo shows one glass in the en-suit, further evidence that this is a single room.the photo shows less than half a toilet roll for two adults for two nights.…
