Just had a one night stay at the Abbey House Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the experience . My wife and I arrived early and took lunch in Oscars . A fabulous club sandwich served with a basket of chips . Just what we needed after a morning exploring the Southern Lakes . Although we were early we were able to...

My wife and I had Sunday lunch (in a party) and the roast beef was extremely rare. Even the people who liked rare beef said it was inedible! We had to send it back to get it flashed which is not the way to deal with beef. We should have been asked how we would have liked the beef if...

Stayed one night it was a Xmas gift, not my usual type of hotel. It was lovely and comfortable, the staff were friendly and the food was very nice. If I was passing that way I would stay again although not close enough to the lake district if that is what you are in the North for.

We had a wonderful 2 night break at this fabulous hotel. The rooms were very stylish, staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was great for visiting the western Lake district and the coast. We dined in the restaurant and the food was excellent.

This is the perfect wedding venue. What makes it even more spectacular other than the breathtaking views & location is the staff members hospitality, in particular John, the wedding manager - he can't do enough for you. He goes out of his way to ensure that our day will be unforgettable. Nothing is a problem and he is very approachable....

Stayed at the hotel following an Xmas party. Very nice hotel , friendly staff, although a little on the young side. Room was nice and clean, apart from what appeared to be dried blood on the bathroom door casing .The shower control knob was broken, so no shower either.I did complain but got only an apology. No offer of a...

The Hotel was one of the best that I had ever been to regarding the suite, bathroom and interior design.Located within the far-out city of Barrow, the hotel is easily accessible from any part of the Lake District. From the outside, the building gives an old and mysterious feel however when I entered, the interior baffled me. The hotel was...

Stayed with my wife first full weekend in January 2017. First impression of the hotel was very good. Polite reception staff and we were checked in promptly. We stayed in the Buttermere suite on the second floor. Bit of a strange way the room had been put together (no lounge area) but a television stuck up at the end of...

Lovely hotel just outside barrow with over 20 acres of beautiful woodland surrounding it. Can't say enough, the staff were fantastic, the restaurant was exceptional. Had a lovely stay well worth the money, very restful time. Obviously a great hotel is nothing without good management, I had a small issue and was phoned by the general manager who sorted it...
