Late bank holiday booking and we came across this hotel. We only managed to get the small double room up 53 steps into the attic but it was comfortable. Lovely double bed and a view looking out into the back garden. Was a small bathroom but for one night we managed fine. Paul welcomed us upon arriving and his two dogs. Simple enough and got our keys quickly. Would happily stay again if in the area.
Lovely hotel, loved the bedroom decor, however the breakfast was overpriced. We were charged £10 per morning for breakfast which was far too much considering it was a bacon roll in a bag with a yogurt.
This was my first hotel experience since Covid started. I booked the attic en-suite for myself & my partner. The owner contacted me well before our trip to explain that as an attic room, the room was small with slanted roof & may cause mobility issues (due to being on the top floor etc). We kept the room (which was small but perfect for our needs), but were impressed she checked with us before arrival. The owners were lovely and friendly; the hotel itself was clean, comfortable & quiet. The owners were very mindful of social distancing & ensured keys were sanitized in front of us etc. Great location - 10 minute walk from the train station and a 2 minute walk into the main town centre.
We booked this hotel as it had good reviews and was close to our son in Piltown, The room we had no 7 was a superior room at the back of the hotel. Great room very large and clean which is so important at the present time. Could not fault this hotel the only drawback could be no lift. However there are rooms on the lower floors, Highly recommended and good value for a holiday location.
