Thought we would give this place a second shot - my review from when this pub first reopened was mainly about it being overpriced for pub grub and the food being bland. We went last Sunday for Sunday lunch, I can't fault the service and the staff, excellent - however the food again was extremely bland and unseasoned which was...

As same owners for old mill, we knew what were expecting. In some ways I preferred this place, might be because I am a Shadforth lass and the 3 horse shoes was where I had my first chicken in a basket! Menu is smaller but still way big enough, the sea bass was excellent as were the sweet potato fries,...

We booked a twin room for two nights and when we arrived the young barman took our case upstairs...very helpful. The room had been recently refurbished and was well appointed including comfy beds, TV freeview channels, rain shower and fluffy towels. The room was spotless each day. The manager and his wife ensured that our schedule for meals could be...

We called today for Sunday lunch, it was the best we've had in a long time. I had the roast pork and it was delicious. The staff were all very friendly, the only downside was that we had no room left for pudding! We'll definitely be calling again.

A nice warm greeting awaited us. Service was polite, and attentive. Good menu to choose from. We ordered Turkey with all trimmings, and was superb. Washed down with a Tetleys, although there was a decent selection of real ales on offer. Would we go back again? Most definitely, the whole place has a nice and relaxing atmosphere about it. Well...

We wanted to stay near Durham as we had never visited the city before. This fitted the bill perfectly being only approx. 15 min. drive to the center. The staff, accommodation and food were all excellent. Be warned, you need a good appetite as the portions are very generous but you can ask for smaller ones if required. Excellent value...

Unable to find suitable B & B in Durham we remembered passing the 3 Horseshoes Inn on our drive into the city and so glad we did. Excellent room - all newly refurbished - large comfy beds and huge shower. Unfortunately we had already eaten but the evening meals we saw being served looked fantastic: we made up for it...
