Chosen mainly for its range of vegetarian options but plenty of choice for rest of party. In particular the sea bass with ginger & chilli highly recommended. The asparagus risotto was well presented but adjudged a bit too creamy with the goat cheese. Monday lunchtime probably not the best serving to judge ambience or atmosphere but staff couldnt have been...

Visited here late on a Sunday afternoon. The Sunday lunch was lovely, the service was quick with friendly staff. The pub was very comfortable with plenty of tables without being to close to others. The prices were very good the portion sizes were fine but extra veg for the table would be a nice idea.

Have just spent 3 excellent nights at the Horseshoes. The Staff are so friendly the Rooms well appointed and spotlessly clean. The Menu is varied with a good wine list. The standard of food is excellent (Hope you like good sized portions) Overall we have had a great 3 day break at an exceptional Hotel/Inn that was also great value...

This is our second visit to the pub (we had a Sunday lunch a few months ago) and I'm pleased to say that this time did not disappoint either. We had to eat outside as they don't allow dogs in the bar but this wasn't a problem (although the weather could have been a bit warmer!) as the view is...

I stayed here for a long weekend with my 12 year old daughter as we were in Durham for a sporting event. First impressions of the pub were very good. It was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful and polite. The twin room we stayed in had been refurbished to the highest standard. The huge walk-in shower...

We are here as a group of 9 recently and it was lovely. We were well looked after and the food was lush. I had the chicken filled with haggis in white wine sauce with chips. It was delicious. Hubs had beef in red wine from the specials menu. All of us had nothing but praise for the food. Majority...

Had never been in this pub until a few Fridays ago but had always liked the look of it when passing. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. I had the Cajun chicken, and my wife had the scampi. The portions were a decent size and very tasty. We were both full but the desserts were too tempting! The coffee based...

We pass the Three Horse Shoes frequently on our trips to Durham City and it was a pub we used to visit whilst 'courting' over 40 years ago. Each time, as we pass, we say, we must call in one day. So last week, we finally did, for lunch and we wished we had gone back sooner! The inside had...
