A nice warm greeting awaited us. Service was polite, and attentive. Good menu to choose from. We ordered Turkey with all trimmings, and was superb. Washed down with a Tetleys, although there was a decent selection of real ales on offer. Would we go back again? Most definitely, the whole place has a nice and relaxing atmosphere about it. Well...

We wanted to stay near Durham as we had never visited the city before. This fitted the bill perfectly being only approx. 15 min. drive to the center. The staff, accommodation and food were all excellent. Be warned, you need a good appetite as the portions are very generous but you can ask for smaller ones if required. Excellent value...

Unable to find suitable B & B in Durham we remembered passing the 3 Horseshoes Inn on our drive into the city and so glad we did. Excellent room - all newly refurbished - large comfy beds and huge shower. Unfortunately we had already eaten but the evening meals we saw being served looked fantastic: we made up for it...

Had been disappointed by Sunday lunch a few weeks ago but was really impressed with the Mon-Sat menu. My friend had rabbit and black pudding suet pudding and said it was really tasty. As was my choice. Friendly service, beautifully refurbished Inn, and snug wood burner. Will be very happy to visit again. Thank you.

Called in today with a friend for Sunday lunch, could not be happier. The service was excellent, food and drink was lovely (although the beef was a little dry) we were provided with plenty of extra gravy and sauces. Plus we had very little wait between ordering and our meals arriving. The surroundings were very comfortable and clean. The only...

Ate here a couple of weeks ago for my sister in laws 60 th birthday. Have to say that it's the best food I've had in ages. I had the chicken breast stuffed with black pudding ( or maybe haggis? I can't quite recall). It was really tasty, the veg were done to perfection and the home made chips to...

We visited this recently refurbished pub on a lunchtime. There are a surprising numbers of tables, so even though quite a number of diners present, there was still plenty of free tables. We had the chicken balti which came with a garlic naan and a popadom. You get a decent portion of rice but the actual curry tasted like something...
