We stayed just before christmas and had a lovely stay. Our room was upgraded and this felt like such a treat. The room was big, clean, had really good amenities and a big copper bath. We ate in the resturant on the evening and the food was lush. We ended the evening with a cocktail. The staff were grate, friendly and professional. We felt looked after and had a great experiance. We would definatly visit again and reccomend the hotel.

Stayed overnight, room top floor really not suitable if you have a mobility problem, table booked for 7pm went to bar area to have a drink beforehand, no seats so we asked where to go a member of staff showed us where to go. We sat down when another staff member said we had to move couldn’t sit there ? We explained we had been shown these seats to sit on . Anyway we ordered two Irish coffees. They took an age to come and then they were just tepid certainly not a nice hot Irish coffee , we alerted a waiter who said sorry I’ll get another well that didn’t happen. Food came and was. Lovely. An altercation broke out where the manager was called ,whom in my opinion made matters worse during which she used bad language within her altercation with guests think she was Lisa. . Our twin room was small but adequate spotlessly clean and the comfiest of beds a good nights sleep was had . Would I recommend. All I will say it was ok for a night , will I return I very much doubt it I’ll stick to either Ramside or Redworth hall . At check out we did mention our complaints to reception he was very apologetic . Sorry Bowburn Hall .

Good Morning, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback from your stay with us - I am delighted to hear that you found the accommodation spotless and the beds comfy. I shall certainly pass back your comments to our housekeeping team and kitchen. We are very proud of the food here so I am pleased you found this lovely. With regards to the Irish coffees, my apologies that these did not reach expectations - we do use fresh cream for the final layer which may have contributed to this being cool, but we can always make this without upon request. I do believe two complimentary Irish Coffees were offered with dinner. With regards to the altercation - abuse and threatening behaviour to the staff is not tolerated within our establishment which led to a very unfortunate incident. I hope that this will not deter you from staying with us again, as this is certainly not a common occurrence. We wish you a very happy new year and would look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind Regards

I wish we had booked a Premier Inn instead, The Hotel grounds are mainly a carpark. The lock on our bathroom did not work, the toilet seat was loose as was the loo roll holder. The lock on the window didn't work, fortunately we were on the first floor so security wasn't an issue. The gap around the room door was so large that you didn't have to put the room light on to walk to the loo at night. The mattress was sunk in the middle so you had to adopt a sleeping position that avoided you rolling into each other. The Hotel should have been aware of all of these issues as they would have been obvious from a basic inspection. The bathroom is the only bathroom that I have been in where I could sit in the loo and touch the plug of both the bath and the sink at the same time. I don't normally try to do this but it demonstrates how small the bathroom is. When I sat on the loo my knees touched the bath! To top this off we had to listen to a drunk couple have a swearing contest until the gone midnight, we would have reported this to reception but there was nobody at reception, had there been anyone at reception they would have been able to hear the entertainment for themselves.

Came for a friend's wedding. Everything was absolutely beautiful. Staff were so attentive, friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Declan and Lewis who were great! The venue was beautiful, food was excellent, possibly the best roast beef I've had! Breakfast was incredible too, quality ingredients. We stayed in one of the lodges which was really lovely, great jacuzzi bath! All in all, a fabulous venue for a wedding. It's easy to see why they've won an award for their weddings. Credit to the staff for excellent service .

On 15th September we got married at Bowburn Hall Hotel and it couldn’t have gone better due to this amazing venue and staff - anyone thinking about booking Bowburn needs to do it! Since booking our wedding we’ve visited Bowburn on several occasions and have always been impressed with the venue, food and customer service. The staff at Bowburn took the stress out of planning a wedding through regular meetings and offering such good value for money for what’s included in the exclusive package. On the wedding day Lewis was our wedding co-ordinator and was very attentive to make sure the day ran smoothly, alongside all the other staff who were always welcoming and friendly. The amount and standard of food was exceptional on the day with a wide range to choose from when planning the wedding. The weather wasn’t on our side but the venue accommodated the full day inside. Accommodation was great, especially the garden lodges which my partner and I would love to come back to stay in. Would highly recommend Bowburn for anyone booking a wedding, we will definitely look forward to coming back regularly to visit the restaurant!
