Enjoy your stay in Durham!
We stayed in the victoria for two nights, and both nights were truly wonderful. When arrived we was greeted and instantly felt welcomed. The room was nice and spacious with traditional victorian features. Staying above a character busy pub was great as jt meant we was able to meet the locals, and even get invited to the dominos competition at sunday lunch time. Breakfast was stunning, all fresh ingredients and even catered for a gluten free, all while being served by a lovely lady! We will definitely be back!
Great place to stay for visiting Durham. Good quiet room, exceptionally friendly staff. Great breakfast. Easy walking distance to the cathedral, castle and market quarter. Highly recommend. Walking distance to restaurants and the river.
Spent a couple of night's in The Victoria Inn recently. Bedroom & breakfast were excellent, The locals in the bar itself were very welcoming as were the staff. A genuine established B&B only 10 minutes walk from town and 5 minutes from the University. We'll be back
We chose this B&B based on reviews but found it to be disappointing. lThe pub itself is lovely, and the rooms nicely appointed, showers were very difficult to use though temperature and position. We got no sleep, you’re surrounded by student accommodation and we knew it, very noisy all night. Breakfast was poor, cheap food poorly cooked and not the nice northern cooked breakfast start to the day we were expecting.
A great pub like stepping back in time, no music just great conversations the way a real pub should be . The pub is full of character with very friendly staff and locals, and very well kept ales . The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable and quiet. Situated in a great location with easy parking and a cracking breakfast. The Vic is very dog friendly (loved the little doggie touches in the room) . Can’t wait to return (With our little dog ) next time .
