The Hotel is family run by Ian, Sharon and our two daughters, we endeavour to create an informal and friendly home- from-home atmosphere and love to chat with our guests. We are perfectly situated in the Roundham conservation area, which is between the main Paignton beach and Goodrington Sands. Paignton harbour is only a two minute walk from the hotel, and offers a good selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes and take-aways. The harbour also provides ferry services to Brixham and Torquay. For those wishing to visit Paignton Zoo there is a bus service just outside the hotel. Paignton bus and train station are approx. 10 mins walk from us, and the Dartmouth Steam Railway is located right next to the main train station. The Steam train offers a wonderful way to visit the historic and pretty town of Dartmouth. There are several historic properties to visit in the area all within 8 miles, including the very popular Greenway - Agatha Christie's home. Cleve Court Hotel is a great destination for tourists, walkers, cyclists and sailing events. The Hotel offers flat-screen TV's in the rooms, and free high-speed Wi-Fi. We have a comfortable bar & lounge area in which guests are welcome to eat a take-away (just let us know and we'll provide plates and cutlery). Sharon is very proud of our breakfast menu, which is all freshly cooked and is much praised by guests. For guests with a vehicle, free parking is available. We look forward to welcoming you to the Hotel.

What a gem of a hotel, we were welcomed on arrival by the genial owners. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and we had a kettle, teabags etc. and a large fan which was great as it was very humid when we arrived. I guess we were in a family room, with a double and two single beds. My only gripe about the room was that the shower pressure was very weak which made it difficult to wash all the sand off from the beach. Delicious big breakfast with some very friendly staff (although the time was a bit early for our teenagers). There is a lounge space and a bar which seemed popular later in the evening. Some free parking on site but when it was full we parked easily in the roads nearby. Great location 5 mins walk to the Harbour with cafes, pubs, Fairy Cove beach and day trips out to the bay. The hotel is 10 mins walk to the main beach in Paignton and 10-15 mins walk to Goodridge Sands. My husband and kids stayed here last year and were keen to come back and I can see why. We had a partial sea view from our room on the second floor. Covid regulations were still in place despite ‘freedom day’, lots of sanitiser around the hotel, the rooms were cleaned daily, apparently touch points were regularly cleaned and masks were required in corridors but I’m sure that may relax soon, we certainly felt rules were being followed. We had a wonderful stay and we would definitely recommend this hotel to others. It has a charming atmosphere reminiscent of the hotels I stayed at as a child with my family, and it really did make our stay in Paignton very pleasant.

Everything was great at the hotel, the staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly and made you feel at home.

The breakfast was a good selection, very enjoyable and well cooked, the staff are very accommodating to people's wants and choices.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well presented. My room was cleaned daily with hot drinks continuously refreshed. The room was comfortable and faultless.

Very very reasonable price for the room and breakfast and could not fault one aspect of the hotel, staff or my stay here. Will very happily return again later this year.

We have stayed at the Cleve Court Hotel on a number of occasions and it is always a pleasure to return. We always appreciate the cleanliness and comfort in each of the rooms we have been allocated. Everything you need is to hand and Margaret, Carole and David exude a persistent warmth and welcome - and their breakfast is just divine! With the present Covid protocols, everything was well organised and regulated and we felt very safe. The hotel is ideal for the Harbour area and just a short walk to the steam railway (for me) and the shops (for my wife), with only a short drive to the surrounding plethora of sands, stunning walks, countryside views and the most charming pubs and restaurants! As always, we look forward to visiting again!

This was my first stay at the Cleve court Hotel, Paignton to enable me to attend the KUGB annual weeks Spring Karate Course. Booking was very easy. I arrived and was welcomed in and shown my room. A corner huge room with a fantastic vista of the Paignton Harbour. Nothing was too much trouble for this family run Hotel. Breakfast that I had to request they make much smaller but if you were not training wow their breakfast would set you up for the day. It's but a 10 min stroll to the Harbour , 5 mins if you walk fast. There you can catch the Paignton to Torquay ferry boat - it's not a huge boat but its only going a short distance so ideal as you don't have to park which is costly in the Torbay area but free at the Hotel.
The room had TV and the usual Tea /coffee station, on suite shower and toilet masses of towels. Very clean and warm. As I say this was my first time and I will book for next year as soon as possible.

My wife and I stayed here for a week in front facing room 17. The hotel was not our first choice, however as the original hotel had a case of COVID19 the Cleve Court was recommended as a suitable alternative.

It was, the room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the hosts Carole, Margaret and David were very attentive and catered for our requests. We would recommend this hotel all COVID19 precautions were being adhered to. Some of the matters listed below are not current recommendations.

Clean and comfortable with friendly proprietors. Good value for money. Covid response was sensible and considerate without being over-the-top. My only suggestion would be to extend the time of the breakfast serving (currently only thirty minutes) as there was a rather a long wait to be served one morning.

Hotel in a great spot ,not to far from town ,lovely people who run it ,nice room but a bit over priced as I think they charge pp not room .they only been there 12 months, but a little bit tlc needed. Lovely breakfast as I'm Gluten-free and a good selection of breakfast to choose from. Found a tooth pick in drawer and hairs .carpets need cleaning. It's a nice place to visit. Bathroom bin and brush needs replacing. My friend had a twin room we had to move bed as she couldn't get to bathroom it would be better to put bed were the wardrobe is so it has more space. Did find a hand bag under bed .

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst in Devon, honestly friendliest hosts ever! Hotel room we had was a double with sink in bedroom and small
En-suite with toilet and shower. Perfect for what we needed. Tea making in bedroom which was nice.
Breakfasts are amazing, there is so much choice and everything we tried was delicious. The owners are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Lots of advice on where to go and directions which was invaluable.
We were supposed to travel from this hotel to Dartmoor to stay in a tipee so we were loving the luxury while we were there. (Tipee blew away in storm so that part of our trip was cancelled) but our stay in Devon was so nice we didn’t feel we missed out on a holiday.
Lots of lovely bays close to the hotel especially fishcoombe cove where we took our paddle boards and had the Pleasure of a friendly seal all the time we were in the bay. we visited Sharpham vineyards which is a must if you like wine! We will definitely book again

Stayed here for 1 night . Owners Margaret & David were very warm friendly and helpful. My room was clean, bed was comfy with beautiful crisp bed linen & lovely soft fluffy towels. Breakfast was faultless and plenty of choice.
It was lovely that both owners remembered not just mine & my friend’s first name but the other guests as well👏🏻
Would definitely stay here again 😊

I've been going to Paignton on and off since I was kid but never stay near the harbour, it's a perfect place to walk to Brixham and Torquay.
The host were very friendly any questions I had, they were more than happy to help. I slept perfectly well, only problem I found as how nosey the pipes were in my room 18. I wish I had sample the breakfast but I find it hard to wake up in the mornings.
