St Edmunds guest house is a classic bed and breakfast, in the best British tradition. A friendly welcome from Roger and Linda sets it all up and the rooms continue the good feeling. Facilities are what you would expect for somewhere that really specialises in looking after singles or couples rather than families. The rooms give you a good base to explore the rest of Torbay and South Devon. Just a 2 minute walk from the beach and about 5 to the town centre where you have access to both national rail service on the Dartmouth Steam Railway that is a must for those more mature boys! St Edmunds is easy to find and there is access to parking off street. The breakfasts are generous and well prepared and the fresh fruit salad is a must. Plenty of information is available as is wifi access and T.V. in all rooms. Everything is clean and neat and you are happy to collapse in your bed at the end of an exciting day.

Have stayed several times before but this time is our first with new owners Linda and Roger and we were not disappointed!
We (including our dog) were made to feel most welcome and nothing is too much trouble!
The whole guest house has been refurbished to a very high standard, with lots of attention to detail, it feels clean and fresh and totally safe in these strange Covid 19 times.
Breakfast is beautifully presented and served with plenty of choice and excellent quality and even a take away bowl for our dog to enjoy!
We fully recommend St Edmunds....don’t hesitate to book this guest house you won’t be disappointed and we wish the new owners every success! We will definitely return 😄👍☀️🏖

The location is excellent just 5 minutes from either the shops or the beach. The owners are extremely helpful and welcoming, the rooms clean, tidy and the bathrooms are a good size, with full size showers, the bathrooms have not been squeezed into an old cupboard, breakfast was filling not sure about the produce if local or not. We had 2 nights and would happily stay again, as the other guests said as well

We had the best room in the place. The hosts went out of their way to provide a double bed in the room for us. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome and we were offered a cup of coffee or tea in the garden whilst we were waiting for our room. The place had been newly decorated and the rooms were bright and airy. Roger and Linda always seemed to be around to offer help or chat. Linda was very attentive at breakfast and breakfast was of very good quality. there was a nice atmosphere in the building and it was just short walk to the beach front and harbour. Cannot recommend Roger and Linda highly enough. There were also umbrellas and games provided, a nice touch. Will definitely stay again.

This is a fantastic guesthouse . I spent 4 nights there on a long weekend of hiking 🥾 in the local area.
Hosts Roger and Linda were so pleasant and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Accommodation is spotless, I had a single room which had a very comfortable double bed and a small fridge was supplied.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious , such a great choice and all cooked to perfection by Roger and served so pleasantly by Linda. They are the perfect hosts.
Only a few minutes walk to town centre and train and bus station and seafront .
A real pleasure to stay there.

Just spent a 3 night stay at St Edmunds, a hidden gem of Paignton.
There were 3 of us so we had a double and single room(rooms 3 & 2), on arrival we were greeted by the friendly faces of Linda & Roger and a cup of tea and cakes.
The rooms are very clean and spacious and were nice and warm for this time of year, Linda & Roger made us very welcome and were very attentive and a excellant source of information for our trips out advising where to park and the best way to get where we wanted.
The breakfast was plentiful and of a very high quality with very good range of cereals etc and of course a full english. You get to choose what you want and it is served up with a cheery face as well.
All in all we had a great stay at the St edmunds guest house just a few hunded yards of the main area in a quiet spot with parking as well, would reccomend this establishment.

Well done Linda & Roger

before booking for a long weekend stay, Roger was very helpful on the phone and I was able to book Room 3 which I specifically wanted having researched the property online.
Upon arrival, Roger was there to greet us and show us to our room via a quick tour of the amenities. It was a warm welcome which made us feel very comfortable at the property. Car parking was also on site (not on the road).
We discovered that the guest house was very close (but not on top) of the beach and pier, which suited us just fine. The location was quiet but still within walking distance to the town center and other attractions.
Room 3 was tastefully decorated and clean, including the bathroom which has a spacious shower cubicle. The bed was very comfortable and huge too! It was very quiet once in the room.
The Guest house itself was also clean and welcoming, and nicely decorated for Christmas!
We were asked to select our breakfast options the night prior and the food was spot on - far beyond expectation. The dining room was lovely and cozy (again decorated for Christmas)
All in all, we had a great stay and short trip to Paignton & Torquay, made even more special by Roger leaving a card & box of chocolates for my girlfriend on the morning of her birthday - such a nice touch, thank you.
It felt as though nothing was too much trouble for Roger & Linda to assist their guests and make their stay a memorable one.
Do not hesitate to book and stay at St Edmunds. I would always try to support local businesses over hotel chains anyway, but Roger & Linda go the extra mile.
We wish you both well and hope to see you again should we return to Paignton.
Best wishes, Paul & Dana

I was made to feel very welcome indeed at this beautifully deorated guest house. My room was the single one and was certainly adequate and very comfortable.
Breakfast was ordered the night before so there was no wait for it to arrive in the morning. I was actually the only guest taking breakfast during my stay, which was a little odd, but Roger and Linda made me feel special.

The whole building was immaculate and there was sanitiser available at the entrance.

The location is a short walk walk from the seafront and town centre with the steam railway also very nearby.. In fact there is a rail crossing within a few hundred metres of the property.

The property has dedicated parking in front and to the side which is a boon in this area.

You would be hard pressed to find anything finer or better value for money. This establishment is a real gem.
Linda and Roger, the owners, are so professional and every minute detail has been thought of. The property is stunning, the rooms beautifully decorated and furnished which matches the impeccable service from the moment you arrive. Breakfast is amazing, my wife required a gluten free menu and this was no problem whatsoever. We stayed over the Christmas period and we will not hesitate to return. I would wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful guest house.

Organised by family members,as we do not normally, do B&B, but we found this one, very good, with high standards, and would highly recommend, if your looking for a clean, well run establishment.
Our double bedroom was on the small side, but well equipped including an en-suite. Free parking.
The breakfast was excellent, you order the evening before, and it arrives at you table, freshly cooked the following morning.
The owners have worked hard during the lockdowns, to turn their business and home into a quality B&B, and they made us all feel very welcome.
Clean and Covid safe.
5 minutes walk to harbour, beach, and the same into town, 10 mins to station.
Would we return ? Yes we all said the same thing.
