Made to feel welcome from 1st arrival. All site facilities are immaculate & covid measures to an exceptional standard. Take away meals provided are superb & highly recommended. Well done to all concerned. Wish we had found this place before
Visited during Covid 19 , everything on the site was closed and we were the only 2 tourers on Site. No Club, Shop or Pool open. It was fine for what we wanted. Showers very clean. Staff around the Site were friendly, Could imagine the atmosphere in "normal times" being a nice one.
The website makes this campsite look really good, unfortunately the reality is somewhat different. This is not really a touring site, it is quite a large site and the majority of the caravans on site were either static or seasonals ( most of which were unoccupied at the time we were there) which gives the site a very different feel. Upon arrival I was asked if I was fit & well! I realised after, this was because the pitch we were allocated was a good walk up quite a steep incline to the toilet & showers! There were about 3 or 4 of us in a bit of a neglected area down by the play area, we felt like an afterthought to the main area. The toilets & showers were adequate, but very tired & old. We did not use the bar but our neighbours said it too was run down & the decor looked like it was from the 60s or 70s, but not in a good way! There was a small pool on site but it didn’t look very inviting. The shop too was barely open whilst we were there. We went in June but would hate to be paying high season prices. Entirely not our sort of site, although from the website we thought it was! We will not be returning.…
We had two nights here. We enjoyed ourselves but it would have been helpful if we were told more about when things were open etc when we arrived. On the sat night we went to have a drink at the club house but after seeing a queue forming at 18:45 and being told when we asked the queue that it opened at 19:30 we decided to give it a miss. The fast food place is good value for money and delicious. We had an electric hook up and were by the play park. Not the best play park but good space to kick a football around etc. Our pitch was very shady so felt quite damp and were next to road (with trees separating) which wasn’t ideal. The outdoor pool is nice although very busy. There are plenty of toilets and showers which were ok but not the best. A taxi to Paignton cost about £11 and we had a great day out there including a boat ride to Torquay. …
Have a pitch here now for 3 years. Julie and her team can’t do enough to look after you. Always have entertainment each night with the bar. They keep the toilets and showers immaculate. Gardens/each pitch kept lovely. Proper genuine people that run this site. Respect them/the site, they will respect you. Don’t listen to all the bad reviews! Because there are no groups of stag/hen do’s allowed - and people who could misbehave means that our time here is safe and enjoyable. We get looked after! Thank you Julie x
