The East European owners have recently taken over this property just before COVID. So they have done well to get up and running with the new regulations. They were very friendly, welcoming and helpful when we needed anything. We had a two bedroom apartment on the top floor. Double bed in one room and bunk beds in the other. Bathroom was very small and I had trouble getting into the shower, being very large. The room was very clean with sinks in both bedrooms. A new carpet was laid in the double bedroom. Plus there was a TV. And Wifi was good. I'd say this is a traditional bed and breakfast like you would find in many seaside towns around the country. PArking is free. The location was great for the beach (50 yards away), town was close with the shops, restaurants, cinema and railway station all within walking distance. Also the steam train to Kingsmear/Dartmouth, Splashdown Waterpark, Torbay, Torquay and Kents Caverns. I'm not sure it's like the Riviera but they claim it is the English Riviera? The breakfast was continental - toast, tea, coffee, ham, meat, smoked hotdog sausages, eggs to order, cereal, yogurts, pastries etc. as advertised. There was also a communal living room which we used to play board games. I'd like to wish the owners good luck with their new venture, so if you're looking for a traditional B&B stay for the family, give it a go. This is what seaside holidays used to be like when I was young.

We stayed with our daughter in a family room which was ideally sized for our 3 nights away, had enough storage and benefitted from a lovely sea view.

Our room was clean, social distancing measures were good and hand sanitizer was on each floor. The only possible improvement I would have liked would have been liquid soap in the bathroom rather than a bar of soap but I kept forgetting to ask!

Staff were very friendly and helpful and it was a bonus having free parking which was available each time we returned to the property. Complimentary bottles of water a nice touch too.

In walking distance to Paignton & Goodrington so great location.

Property was in need of a little maintenance here & there (ie ceiling in breakfast room) but overall a great stay for 3* accommodation and would stay again.

The hotel is perfectly located close to a beautiful family friendly beach, and just up the road from the main shops and restaurants. We didn't touch our car for three days as everything is within easy walking distance. We stayed here for 4 nights, and the staff literally couldn’t do enough for us. They bought the hotel 6 months ago and seem to be implementing improvements as they go along. We were made to feel very welcome, and had all sorts of extras bought to our room including a fan on the hottest night of the year. Breakfast is excellent, with continental options and eggs cooked to your liking. The only downside was the size of our room, which was too small to be classed as a family room. It was a double room with an extra bunk bed squeezed in. On the last day the owner gave us a little goody bag for the drive home. They made sure we had a great time and we would definitely come back if we get the chance to visit Paignton again.

After a terrible 2 nights at the Travelodge down the road, we decided to leave and needed another hotel to stay. We were lucky enough to get a booking at Torland Hotel and can only wish we stayed here the whole time.

The staff are so welcoming, the room was very clean, had an amazing view of the seafront and was well stocked with tea, coffee, bottled water, shampoo, towels etc.
The continental breakfast had so much on offer and was all very fresh and tasty.

On our final day we had to leave early, the staff made us a bag of food for our journey home!

We will 100% be staying here on our next trip to Paignton :)

Just spent 3 nights here, amazing sea view to wake up to in the mornings. From check in to check out, the staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Plenty of bottled water in the room and downstairs as needed, lots of tea coffee etc in the room. The rooms were comfortable, shower powerful, towels provided. Lots of hand sanitizers around the building. But by far the location was fab, far enough to be quiet but a 5 min walk to bars arcades etc, and a stone throw from the beach. Breakfast was lovely, didn’t feel the need to pay for a full English, and they also offer you to take snacks back to the room if you wish such as cakes and yogurts. Couldn’t fault the place at all

Last minute trip arranged. We managed to get in at the Torlands. Wasn't sure what we were getting Initially. However, on arrival the gentleman who greeted us was so friendly and helpful, nothing to much trouble and works so hard to make our stay lovely. 1st thing we noticed was how clean everything was. Our room was spotless, beds were super comfortable, plenty of tea, coffee, bottles of water and toiletries provided. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice of cereal, yogurts, pastries and fruit. Cheese, ham with eggs and toast. Option to have a full English breakfast for £5 extra if wanted. Hotel is perfectly located, right on the front, close to town, pier and beaches. No fault at all, will definitely come back soon. Thank you Torlands xxx

If you’re looking for amazing value for money, look no further. This hotel offers fantastic location literally two minutes from the beach, clean and comfortable (although a bit dated) rooms, and great service. Igor and his team made us feel very well looked after; nothing was ever too much trouble and we even got a free upgrade to a bigger room. There was ample guest parking, wifi in the room and brand new shiny en-suite bathroom. Continental breakfast was good enough, with plenty of choice (cereals, fruit, pastries as well as cooked eggs of your choice and sausages). Overall, we highly recommend Torland Seafront and we would gladly stay again!

Not much really on the negative side. The only thing was that the breakfast room was quite cold in the morning, but it got better after a couple of days. Also, low water pressure in the shower and mattress a bit too soft for our liking. Nothing that would ruin our stay though.

We stayed at this hotel for a sailing regatta. The boat park on the green was visible from our bedroom window.
The room was well appointed, with an ensuite shower room. The fixtures are high quality and there was lashings of hot water when showering. Towels and bedding are high quality. There was a kettle with tea and various types of coffee, plenty of milk was supplied.
Breakfast was plentiful, varied and well cooked and set us up for the day. There were large mugs for our tea or coffee.
This is a terrific place with great service.

Torland Seafront Hotel is a little gem, in the right location, very clean and the team are very warm, friendly and accommodating. Close to the beach and other amenities like restaurants and bars. The breakfast included in the price makes this very affordable. Igor the manager went the extra mile and packed us a little snack for the road, as we checked out early parts of the morning.
Would highly recommend this place to all visitors.
Thank you for making our stay memorable. It was truly home away from home

I'm sure there must be rooms with sea view because it is on a hill but, as we were at the back, we only had a view of the car park. This didn't bother us in the least because the family do work very hard to make it attractive with plants. It was also the only way we could have stayed at the Torland due to the steps at the front - and we were just happy to find somewhere at quite short notice and with so many visitors to Paignton for the air show.
