I go to the Redcliffe quite frequently with friends and family for drinks and sometimes a meal. The views are spectacular and the bar staff and receptionist are so welcoming. It’s such a beautiful building with lots of character… looking forward to seeing the refurbishment

Excellent hotel from start to finish, lovely, welcoming & fun reception staff. Nothing was too much trouble, the swimming pool was great as was the steam room. Everything was clean and tidy, the room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was really nice too. We didn’t eat at the hotel apart from breakfast which was good. Loved the older style of the hotel and my other half thought the lift was fantastic! Excellent views and I imagine sitting outside on no a lovely spring day would be heavenly. We would definitely use this hotel again without a doubt.

I love this hotel so much. This was my second visit and it was just wonderful. Lovely room with a sea view. The indoor pool is to die for - like a warm bath!! - and I even managed to go in the outdoor pool as the weather was so hot. This hotel is so quirky and unique. It has a faded grandure which I adore. The upstairs morning room is huge, with ornate ceilings and loads of seating. It overlooks the sea and would be a lovely place to sit and just watch the waves if the weather was bad. There is also an underground tunnel down to the beach which is a fun feature. Breakfast was plentiful and staff were attentive. I know it’s undergoing massive refurbishment which makes me sad because I love it as it is.

If you are looking for a modestly priced hotel to explore the English Riviera from then look no further than the Redcliffe, The Redcliffe has been a hotel since 1902 and retains many quirky architectural features. Don’t be put off by the slightly dated late eighties early nineties décor in the communal areas (part of the charm for me), the hotel is scrupulously clean throughout. Our twin room on the third floor provided roomy, relaxed accommodation. Whilst not on the seaward side of the hotel, the windows provided a coastal view towards Torquay and at night, its twinkling lights were accompanied by the lap of the waves. Breakfast is served in a large light lounge overlooking the sea. The breakfasts were well presented, tea and good coffee served in pots with an extensive continental choice and a better than average cooked menu. The serving staff and indeed the staff anywhere in the hotel are unfailingly helpful and friendly. And now to, what was for us, the jewel in the crown; the indoor swimming pool suite. The heated pool is about 15 metres in length, with poolside showers and sun loungers around the side. There is also a steam room and sauna. A further changing suite is adjacent with showers, lockers and hair drying facilities. Towels are available upon request. Perfect for a relaxing swim after a day exploring the area. Excellent value for money – thoroughly recommend, …

I recently stayed at this hotel water recently struggling with my mental health and being burnt out from work. I decided to visit some friends in Paignton and what a weekend it was with beautiful weather. I found this gem of a hotel on hotels.com and on arrival at the hotel I decided upgrade my room to a sea view room overlooking the bay for £30 extra and I’m telling you it was well worth the money. The view over the bay was stunning. Over the last month, I had been struggling to get a decent nights sleep. On arriving back to the hotel after having dinner out with friends, I arrived back at the hotel and decided to sleep with the windows open and I kept the curtains open all night. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore was so therapeutic that I slept for the first time in ages for a full night without waking up. When I woke up in the morning the view of the sunrise over the bay was gorgeous. I didn’t want to leave when it came to checking out. Breakfast was included I the rate and it was made to order. Poached eggs were done perfect. When I return to Paignton I will definitely be staying here again. This hotel I highly recommend. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable l.…

We stayed here in last week in September. Never been here before but what a great hotel. Location excellent, especially with a sea view room. This is classed as a 3 star hotel, but we have stayed in 4 star hotels that do not come anywhere near the ambience of the Redcliffe. The staff are amazing, Liam in the restaurant extremely helpful and pleasant, but everyone from reception to room service were fantastic. The food in the restaurant was well prepared and tasted fantastic. Wish the Redcliffe was nearer than the 760 miles round trip we travelled, but we will certainly be back.

What a fabulous hotel with so much character. Excellent location with beautiful views and outside seating. From check-in, room, breakfast, bar meals and drinks, everything excellent. All staff extremely helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble. All areas spotlessly clean. So glad we found this hotel, will definitely return.

We had a super time at the Redcliffe, our stay was great value, the food was good, the indoor pool was nice and the staff we encountered were all very friendly. The hotel has a super setting and the view from the bay window of the Dick Francis Suite was excellent. The hotel is a little tired in places as it awaits refurbishment but it added charm to the stay and it was great value. Recommended if you are not fussy about a few scuffs around the edges.

Welcoming check in. Room clean, only one usb plug. If you have a double room - my logic says there should be two usb plug portals. Hotel looks pretty tired from the outside but I see they have a huge Reno project coming. Loads of history though which was actually lovely. Had a glass of red in the bar - like drinking vinegar. Staff v friendly. Bed was rock hard to the point I woke with back ache and disturbed sleep from 2am, (I know this is down to preference but both myself and my husband struggled with how hard the bed was ) resulted in restless achey night and a gap under door with bright light shining in all night from bright lights in the corridor so had to lay my coat in front of it at 230am. Shower pressure ok but the shower head made it like a mist. Breakfast was ok, not outstanding, not poor.…
