We stayed at the haldon for two nights on a mini break this weekend.
I can not fault anything about this place the hosts Gerry and Julia were very accommodating and could not do enough for us.
The room was immaculate and comfortable, the breakfast was also lovely, very attentive hosts would definitely stay here again and reccomend to anyone visiting paignton.
Thankyou for your amazing hospitality.

We stayed here for a couple of nights as a seaside get away within walking distance of the beach and high street. It was a well needed and relaxing break that had many highlights. Just want to start off by saying how amazing the hosts were. From Grahams sense of humour to Katarina’s amazing breakfast. They could honestly not do enough for us and even told us about local places to eat and explore. We were lucky enough to stay in the Superior Room and wow what a room! The room was exactly what we needed, clean, spacious and a very big comfy bed! Our room had its own ensuite with shower and amenities including shower gel, and shampoo, towels etc. You get to choose your options for breakfast the evening before and a time that suits, which is a brilliant idea. We sat outside the guest house to have a pot of tea and was pleasantly surprised with the suntrap they have. Whilst we were sitting and enjoying the sunshine (in March, with shorts and t shirts on) everyone else was wandering around in hats and scarves!
With regards to things to do and places to see, we enjoyed a very lovely afternoon steam train journey and ferry trip to Dartmouth. Highly recommended by Graham (owner) and is only a short walk away from the guest house. We also enjoyed a game of crazy golf, and yes, we are two fully grown adults but why not be big kids for the weekend. Following the recommendation from Graham and Katarina, we ventured to try a few of the locals pubs. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the Harbour Inn, a game of pool in Club 18 and finished our Friday evening in The Spinning Wheel. If you enjoy live bands and music this is the place to go – to top it off the stumble home is only a few minutes away.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable couple of days away and will 100% be returning in the summer! We would like to thank the owners once again for their fabulous hospitality and wish them all the luck in the world with their beautiful guest house! P.s look out for Room 6 .. see if you can spot it!

We arrived early at the Haldon to establish its whereabouts and were greeted by Terry who told us that our room was available and very kindly assisted us in unloading the car and carrying our luggage upstairs to our room. The room was very clean and spacious with more than ample tea and coffee. Throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble. The guest house is ideally situated with only a few hundred yards walk to either the seafront or the town centre. We also found a very nice place to eat at Henry’s in the centre of town good food and exceptional service at very reasonable prices. Anyone visiting Paignton would do well to consider the Haldon as I feel sure you will be made very welcome and have a very memorable stay.

Absolutely fantastic family ran guest house. The owners make give the beautiful clean guest house that something extra special than the others . They are so friendly and helpful. The guest house is situated in a perfect location, especially for families and beach lovers like myself. A few minutes walk from the sea front , pier , fun fair and restaurants and the town . Everything is on their doorstep. Clean and comfortable rooms with those little extras like the teas , coffees and toilet rolls often being replenished . The breakfast is amazing! My sons exact words each morning were “ these are the best scramble eggs I’ve ever eaten “ with high quality cooked breakfast, and homemade danishes . Freshly made coffee and juices .
This was our second stay at the Haldon and we are looking forward to our next trip in 2023 .

I only stayed for one night, which was a shame as its lovely. Conveniently located near to the town, and the beach is literally a few minutes walk down the road. I had a lovely room at the top of the house. Very clean and tidy, nicely decorate. Very friendly hosts, who were very attentive, making sure that I had everything that I needed. Breakfast was lovely, I had a small cooked breakfast and could help myself to cereal and fruit. Lovely bright breakfast room. I would definitely stay again. Thank you

Stayed here for 1 night. Read the reviews and seemed very good. Also, excellent central location. Met by owners Kat and Graham who are absolutely brilliant! We had rm 8, spotlessly clean with a small but perfectly adequate ensuite. Preorder your breakfast the evening before. This was really good...juices, coffee, fruit and cereal all self service and a lovely cooked breakfast to follow. This is a b and b done properly by a couple with a passion (and humour!) who get everything right. If you have a car, the Victoria multistorey is 2 mins away as roadside is restricted.

Stayed here for 4 nights was lovely stay overall only issue we had was they never mentioned when we booked they had cats as so guests May be alergic to animals. Also cooking at 10pm at night didnt seem relevant as stank out the whole guest house. Also the parking seemed an issue, i was told when booked i would get a permit and felt like i kept having to move my car so cudnt enjoy my stay there as was on edge about my car for traffic wardens. Also the portions with the breakfast was small i tea spoon of beans on plate and jus one of everything. When we first turned the owner came across as bit rude we drove a long distance it wu of been nice to b welcomed with a smile and even offered to leave our bags for the time being. Over all room was clean and tidy.

Lovely place . Exactly as I imagined , friendly owners , excellent location , near beach , pier , harbour . In sumner it will be harder to park but there is a multi story car park at the end of the ( very quiet ) road ( the traffic from car park doesn’t go past the Haldon )
Very clean . Really nice full monty breakfast and GREAT coffee .
If what you want is decent accommodation at a very good value for money price try this place ..
Also near lovely walks and pubs and Graham , the really nice owner , will give you all the information you need .
