We came here after reading that the Rocks was under new ownership. We got a surprise when we were greeted by the owner prior to this announcement of new ownership. Slightly confused as to what is going on, However a warm welcome and were attended to quickly. Two of us ordered the Sunday roast. It was very good but where...

Thank you for review, however I feel you were maybe not at the Rocks Dunbar. Our Sunday Roast is extremely popular with our lunch guests and is rated the best throughout the Lothians. The Sunday Roast consists of Sirloin of Beef choice of roast or mashed potatoes, yorkshire pudding and 5 different vegetables. As we all know Scotch Sirloin is...

I have eaten here many times and the food is excellent but after staying here recently ( august i think) i was shocked at the dirt of the room which is why the 2 stars. I paid a lot of money to stay here but the room and bathroom were just filthy, old, dated and you could hear every sound....

We stayed here for 2 nights recently and honestly couldn't fault the place. From the moment we arrived the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was just amazing, freshly cooked and delicious. It was nice to see locals using the bar and restaurant as well as visitors to the area. We had a room facing the front of...

We have enjoyed dining and sometimes staying at The Rocks for many years and were pleased when stopping by for lunch on Saturday 19 November that the high standards we enjoyed during past visits were still being maintained. The dressed crab has to be one of the best in Scotland and the north of England, and the mussels freshly prepared...

I got a warm welcome - the staff can't do enough for you. The menu is weighted towards fish, but given the location, why wouldn't you? The food is cooked sympathetically and ingredients allowed to sing. The bill was a pleasant surprise and you'll not leave hungry. It's a gem of a place where I have never been disappointed.

Great location and lovely views. Good standard of food. Nice staff. Single room was quite small and cold, the heating was off or not working. Breakfast was very good. This was my first visit to Scotland and Dunbar is a lovely town to visit, enjoyed it. ................................ ................................

Thank you for your comments, we actually only took over the Hotel in March and have since replaced all the windows, upgraded the access for disabled guests and added disabled toilet facilities. The end of October a complete new hot water and heating system is being installed , and early in the new year we are re-vamping all the bedrooms...

Had a wonderful stay at The Rocks with warm hospitality, great service and superb food. We were looking for a pub type hotel of a high standard and we couldn't recommend this place more. Lovely atmosphere, great bar & delicious food with locally caught lobster one of the beautiful specialities. Lovely walks on the doorstep & impressive views right over...

Nice location but the decor does need attention. Pleasant evening meal and breakfast and the service was good if not a bit inexperienced. Our room (12) was very small for a double but the heating system across the hall was operating all night and I didn't get any sleep. We pointed this out to the owner in the morning who...

We had a wonderful evening here. The staff and service were exceptionally accommodating and the food was excellent. I had the Muscles and Venison and both were excellent. My wife had the Sea Bass and it too was superb. The portions were very generous. Have to add that the bread was baked there and was awesome.
