We spent 12 nights here in August and from the second we arrived to the minute we left we were spoilt rotten.
Wendy & Gareth were simply exceptional and nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was perfect and the delicious breakfasts that Gareth cooked were both extremely tasty and literally piping hot.
The downstairs & upstairs fridges were very useful and the free daily bottled water was a nice touch.
The location is ideal as it is 3 minutes from the town and 5 minutes from the beach (using the lift)
In summary the Appley Lodge was fantastic , Wendy & Gareth are very special and if anyone asks where to stay on the Island I would not hesitate to recommend staying there.

gareth and wendy are superb hosts, most helpful ,nothing too much trouble. the hotel was spotless and modern and our room was very spacious. breakfast was very good, piping hot with a good selection. gareth booked our ferry at a discounted rate and as we arrived by car a designated parking spot was ours for the duration of our stay. we arrived early and our room was made available to us, no hanging around for a check in time. all in all a superb stay and as we are regular visitors to the island appley lodge will be our go to accommodation in future. thank you gareth and wendy

The Appley Lodge B&B is a wonderful place to stay. Gareth and Wendy are so welcoming and lovely. Gareth is so funny and also gives great advice on visiting places on the island. Wendy is lovely to talk too and makes her own granola and muesli which is so good.
The rooms are lovely and comfortable, lovely bedding and towels and the rooms are very very clean. Plenty of hot water and a lovely shower. The decor and furniture everywhere is very nice. We had a mini fridge with bottles of complimentary water in our room. There is even sewing threads of every colour etc on the landing for people to use if needed. It’s all these little touches that makes the Appley so special and a touch above the rest.
There is a lovely veranda with comfy chairs and tables. It was nice to sit before and after breakfast and again in the late evenings. Complimentary Tea and coffee is available to help yourselves too and a fridge with bars of chocolate, flapjacks, flavoured water and fizzy drinks at a very reasonable price.
The Appley breakfast is amazing. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Homemade granola, Muesli in lovely little glass pots with lids on. Yoghurt and fresh fruit and little glass bottles of juice which tasted lovely. All presented by Wendy beautifully.
The breakfast menu covers absolutely everything and the cooked breakfast can be changed to your wishes. The produce tasted amazing and no grease whatsoever. More toast is available if needed, very tasty white or granary bread used with different jams available
lovely large tea pots that don’t leak are presented or coffee cafetières.
We had a very comfortable visit
I would not hesitate to stay at Appley Lodge in the future.
A great B&B run by a great couple

Gareth & Wendy are the best Hosts. From our call to book our stay to the minute we left, they did everything the could to make our visit a success. Provided us with the best price for the ferry, ensured they could produce a Gluten free breakfast & offered advice about the island as we explored.
Wendy made Gluten free Granola and had purchased GF bread. Every other item in the Full breakfast was GF anyway. Brilliant.
Our room was large, clean & comfortable. Small fridge was useful with a couple of complimentary water bottles supplied each day.
A lovely base and one we highly recommend.

Once again it was a real pleasure to stay at this B&B. Our room was spotlessly clean with little added extras to make you feel even more welcome and comfortable. Their wonderful breakfast sets you up for the day. The location is ideal to explore the island.
It really is a little piece of heaven! We can't wait to return! Matt & Keith

Wendy and Gareth are lovely hosts and super helpfull. Gareth even drove us to the train station when we left.
The whole place is warm and welcomming. Beautifully put together with small touches as a small table on the landing with sewing equipment for mending.
We had the superior king room with a seperate seating area. Well appointed and beautifull room. The breakfast was lovely. Everything in small jars and individually packed . You had a great choise for cooked breakfast, with V. options. The porch was lovely to sit on in the afternoon and evening. In the breakfast room they have an area with tea/coffeemaking facilities and a fridge, where you can buy a water/soft drinks/chocolat. They are not licenced, but you can leave your own drinks in the fridge there. There are 9 rooms. Some are up-stairs. The B & B is close to the beach elevator, and the busstop for the Island Coaster is just outside. Going to Shanklin busstation is just a short walk away. And 5 minutes more and you are on the main street going down to the Old Village with its shops, pubs, restaurants and tearooms. For a B & B in Shanklin you just cant do better.

Stayed for a four night break, this B&B is in an excellent location close to all amenities, no more than a 5-10 minute walk to the town, old village, train station or the beach. Wendy and Gareth are perfect hosts, couldn't do enough to make your stay comfortable, rooms are big, beds are comfortable and breakfast was lovely.
Highly recommend staying here, look forward to returning.
Thank you

Came with my mum for a week. The great service started when we booked and Gareth and Wendy sorted our ferry for us. Then the morning of our stay, I received a text telling me where to park which was a great touch and very much appreciated! We had a twin room which was clean and lovely. The breakfasts were always tasty and fabulous- with cereal and fresh fruit also on offer before a cooked breakfast. Wendy and Gareth are great hosts who will go above and beyond. I've found a little gem of a hotel and I will be back I'm sure!!
