We spent 12 nights here in August and from the second we arrived to the minute we left we were spoilt rotten.
Wendy & Gareth were simply exceptional and nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was perfect and the delicious breakfasts that Gareth cooked were both extremely tasty and literally piping hot.
The downstairs & upstairs fridges were very useful and the free daily bottled water was a nice touch.
The location is ideal as it is 3 minutes from the town and 5 minutes from the beach (using the lift)
In summary the Appley Lodge was fantastic , Wendy & Gareth are very special and if anyone asks where to stay on the Island I would not hesitate to recommend staying there.

Stayed for a four night break, this B&B is in an excellent location close to all amenities, no more than a 5-10 minute walk to the town, old village, train station or the beach. Wendy and Gareth are perfect hosts, couldn't do enough to make your stay comfortable, rooms are big, beds are comfortable and breakfast was lovely.
Highly recommend staying here, look forward to returning.
Thank you

Excellent place to stay we stayed for 4 nights we was made very welcome , our room was a large had tea and coffee making facilities there was a fridge on the landing which had milk and bottles of water in for our use and we could also put items in. The breakfast was excellent. Appley lodge is in walking distance of the beach which was steep a pathway which had steps as well there is a lift but was not working while we was there. Once again it was a real pleasure to stay at this B&B. Our room was spotlessly clean with little added extras to make you feel even more welcome and comfortable. Their wonderful breakfast sets you up for the day. The location is ideal to explore the island.
It really is a little piece of heaven! We can't wait to return! Matt & Keith

The Appley as new owners and we have been to the hotel, now called a lodge, with both old and new owners. We where the first vistors after the lockdown in 2020, we stayed at the lodge for 10 days in July.
The new owners are refurbishing the lodge to a very high standard and the owners could not do enough for us, carry your bags, would you like any more ? The breakfast was first class and as much as you could eat.
The bedrooms are first class, the location is ideal for town and beach, Gareth and Wendy are very enthusiastic about the lodge and everything about making our stay perfect.
The wife and I would definitely stay again when on the Island and would recommend highly the lodge for your stay or break on the Island.

We have just returned from a two week holiday at The Appley Lodge.
We had a marvellous time. We were welcomed by hosts Gareth and Wendy with a welcome cup of tea after our long journey from North Yorkshire.
Our room ( Superior double) was spotlessly clean and well appointed. It has a lovely sitting room off the bedroom, perfect for relaxing in, with a refreshment tray refilled each day.
Breakfast was a tour de force. Starting with home made muesli or fresh fruit salad made by Wendy, or cereal, juice or yoghurt, all followed by a choice of cooked breakfasts made by Gareth! The full English is amazing, piping hot and delivered to the table. After this, there is a lovely varanda to relax on with a cup of tea or coffee.
It is also perfect after a day out, to sit there in the sun. Complimentary hot drinks are provided in the breakfast room all day.
I cannot recommend the Appley Lodge highly enough, it is perfectly situated between the beach, town and old village. We have already booked for next year.

We had a fantastic sunny 🌞 4 night stay at The Appley Lodge!

Gareth and Wendy are superb hosts and ensure all guests are welcomed and content. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable including free WiFi, tea and coffee and access to cold bottled water from the fridge on the landing!

The B&B is located centrally with great access to the beach, local shops and restaurants and the lovely old town.

Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked by Gareth each morning!

After a long day at the beach, we enjoyed sitting out on the veranda watching the world go by in front of the lovely Appley Lodge garden!

I would thoroughly recommend and look forward to staying again! Thank you Gareth & Wendy!

Wendy and Gareth made our recent weekend at Appley Lodge a really special experience. They are both so friendly and really want to look after their guests. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean and the breakfasts superb. We particularly liked the complimentary tea & coffee etc downstairs as well as in the bedrooms, with the chance to sit on the veranda looking at the pretty garden with a mug of tea in your hand!

We stayed here for a few nights and cannot praise this B & B enough. The rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable with little touches to make your stay 1st class. Gareth and Wendy are fantastic hosts and nothing at all was ever to much trouble for them. Our breakfast was beautiful with locally bought produce. The B & B is in the perfect location to explore Shanklin and only a stones throw away to a bus stop to venture further afield.
We wouldn't at all hesitate to stay here again and cannot wait to visit next year. It won't be long until this B & B will win an award(s). It will be very well deserved and a credit to the hosts. 5*

Wendy and Gareth are lovely hosts and super helpfull. Gareth even drove us to the train station when we left.
The whole place is warm and welcomming. Beautifully put together with small touches as a small table on the landing with sewing equipment for mending.
We had the superior king room with a seperate seating area. Well appointed and beautifull room. The breakfast was lovely. Everything in small jars and individually packed . You had a great choise for cooked breakfast, with V. options. The porch was lovely to sit on in the afternoon and evening. In the breakfast room they have an area with tea/coffeemaking facilities and a fridge, where you can buy a water/soft drinks/chocolat. They are not licenced, but you can leave your own drinks in the fridge there. There are 9 rooms. Some are up-stairs. The B & B is close to the beach elevator, and the busstop for the Island Coaster is just outside. Going to Shanklin busstation is just a short walk away. And 5 minutes more and you are on the main street going down to the Old Village with its shops, pubs, restaurants and tearooms. For a B & B in Shanklin you just cant do better.
