Haven Hall comes highly recommended for its pristine cleanliness and luxurious atmosphere, with guests often noting the property's meticulous attention to detail. The hotel's amenities, including the locally sourced breakfast, verdant gardens, and inviting pool, have earned rave reviews, as has the personalized and thoughtful service from the staff.
Although on the pricier side, many regard the experience as providing excellent value, especially for special getaways, given the comfortable and well-appointed rooms with stunning sea views and the hotel's prime location close to the beach and local attractions.

Ever dreamed of having an elegant country home on the English coast? Complete with tennis, pool, gardens, terrace, all overlooking the sea, David and Arielle welcomed us with warmth and gracious hospitality. They gave wonderful advice for restaurants and places to see when the weather was lovely, and the day it stormed, we sat in the bay window and watched the weather while playing scrabble and backgammon. Fancy a drink? There is an honor bar and free coffee and tea anytime. Food allergy? No problem. They will make a marvelous breakfast, with homemade lemon curd or marmalade. We stayed in room number 1 which is magnificent and has grand views of the sea. Comfy bed, good pillows, great bathtub. We watched another family arrive by helicopter from our window. We hope to return for another relaxing stay.

We stayed 6 nights at Haven Hall Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hotel’s waterfront vista is truly spectacular with 180 degree views up and down the coast. The property is equally stunning with a beautifully renovated building and lovely English gardens bursting with flowers.
We enjoyed the heated pool, which is a good size for the property, and spent some time relaxing in the gardens, watching the ships and boats pass by.
We stayed in a spacious, fully equipped suite with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living/dining room. Everything was decorated tastefully and the bottles of water and Nespresso pods were a welcome treat. Our son stayed in a day bed in the living room, which worked well. The room had a/c, WiFi, ample electricity plugs for charging devices, and a super comfy bed.
The hotel provides a cooked breakfast to order (safer than a buffet in light of Covid-19), and the food quality, variety, and preparation are outstanding.
The size of the property (14 rooms) felt very safe during a pandemic, and the entrances to the rooms are all well spaced, so contact with others is minimal. Our room seemed very clean with touches such as a plastic covering for the remote control and a hand sanitizer tube with the toiletries for portable use. Breakfast is outdoors for the summer on a spacious patio.
David, the owner/manager, is very warm and attentive, and we enjoyed getting to share some daily conversation.
The location of the hotel in Shanklin is a good base to explore the island. Most sites are within 15-30 minutes drive, or 45 min to the far points on the West Coast. It’s also walkable to restaurants in town centre in ~20 minutes. (Bookings are highly advisable as tables are hard to come by unless booked weeks in advance).
While we didn’t use these features, we note that the hotel has a heliport if you choose to arrive by helicopter, a lawn tennis court, electric car charging points, a beach hut (below the cliffs), an honor bar, and is dog friendly. (The entire island seems dog friendly!)
We hope to return in the future to enjoy this property again.

My family and I had the pleasure in staying this hotel in July 2021.
This is an establishment where the owner truly cares about your stay and keeps the standards at a level of which we have rarely seen in an English hotel outside of the London top tiers hotels.
David welcomes you personally when you check in and ensures you know where everything is and is contactable with any issues of which there were none.
You can tell a lot about where you stay by the owner or manager and you can tell David expects top standards and therefore provides services which he would expect.
The bedroom and bathrooms were absolutely spotless which given the times we are in provides extra comfort of the standards.
The honest bar around the pool is a novel idea but good one.
Breakfast has to be ordered the day before which some people might find unusual for a 5 star property but given we care about wastage the restaurant knowing what to cook the day before to avoid throwing food away is good and if you didn’t order something the hotel was happy to oblige on that morning making an extra item.
The budget may not be suitable for all but the welcome, quality and cleanliness of the property and its grounds are will worth spending the extra pounds if you can afford it.
We would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone planning on staying in the Isle of Wight.

+1
Although we didn't have the chance to meet Arielle, David was a very welcoming and accommodating host.
We had booked out the SV3 (Sea View 3) room for 2 nights, and were pleasantly surprised by both the room and facilities available to us; these included a heated swimming pool, sauna (although currently out of service due to Covid-19 precautions), tennis court, honesty bar, and [included] breakfast. The SV3 suite has been fitted with everything one may need to 'live' away from home, including a dish washer, washing machine, oven and hob, and of course kitchen sink.
The time-allocated/requested breakfast servings were generous enough and a culinary delight with plenty of choice to tame one's appetite, alongside a healthy serving of toast if required.
The service and hospitality from David and his team was second to none, and we would happily suggest that anyone pay them a visit.

The hotel is stunning and the owners, David and Arielle have done a loving renovation of the original house and grounds. It is their lived home and it shows.
On arrival, David welcomed us with a tour of the beautifully landscaped grounds and history of the hotel and the renovation that he and Arielle have made. He is a mine of information of good places to eat and visit.
The staff are all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was cooked to order and we were able to eat outside looking at the gorgeous Italian inspired gardens. Even in poor weather the inside breakfast room would be stunning as it has triple aspect views of the grounds and sea and is so beautifully decorated. The house has been renovated to a very high standard and invites you in to enjoy the rooms and relax.
Dogs are welcomed and the beautiful Maizie did the rounds of inspection of the guests.
Our only disappointment is that there was no price differential between the larger room that we had booked and the small one in to which we moved as it had the bath that we wanted. Our room was peaceful with a very comfortable bed so we slept very well but Room 4 is one of the smallest.
A lovely break and we would recommend this hotel.

A beautiful hotel renovated sympathetically and to a first class standard by David and Arielle the owners. The surrounding gardens are simply stunning, every inch planted thoughtfully and maintained impeccably.
We stayed at Haven Hall for 2 days, with my parents for a long awaited trip away. It felt completely like we had been invited to stay in David and Arielle’s beautiful Isle of Wight home. Their personal service really stood out to us, from the very first moment we arrived David welcomed us from the driveway, giving us a tour of the grounds, a relaxed check-in process, we loved that it took place seated in the dining room rather than at a check-in desk and that David is genuinely interested in his guests, what brings them to the island and offering advice on things to do and places to see. At breakfast both mornings, again, David was interacting with his guests ensuring they had everything they needed. I have never experienced this in a hotel and it is something that makes Haven Hall incredibly special.
We stayed in June ‘21 when covid was very much challenging us all. We were impressed that each room had a very thorough cleaning checklist for staff to manage the covid safety requirements, we felt the team were doing everything possible to keep their guests comfortable and safe, thank you.
Kiara serving breakfast and drinks at the bar is smiley helpful and calm, nothing is too much trouble, her customer service is first class.
When you book to stay at the Haven Hall, do take the time to see the renovation photo album in the drawing room, it is remarkable to see how the gardens were remodelled & Arielle’s furniture restoration.
We really loved our stay, we are recommending Haven Hall to everyone and hope to return for another stay! Thank you David & Arielle.

Haven Hall is perfectly located with sea views and a beautifully planted and well-kept garden. The owners are clearly proud of the service they provide and are helpful and friendly towards their guests. There is a large ground floor room with ramp access and a walk-in shower for those with mobility issues. Covid requirements were in place and observed.

This gem of a hotel is located in a secluded position on the cliffs on the outskirts of Shanklin. The views from the hotel and its glorious gardens look out over the English Channel. I’m sorry to repeat what so many reviewers have already said about the location and views but this really is a location worth lauding again and again. The public rooms and the bedrooms are appointed to a very high standard with an incredible eye to detail and impeccably maintained. Our breakfasts were delicious with a great choice. They were well presented and portions generous.

Recommended to this gem by a family member. Clear website gives good idea of rooms available. Glorious views from Victoria & Albert room. Very traditional furniture to match architecture of house , but bathrooms and facilities are up to date and spotless. Efficient air con was a bonus ! Warm welcome from David, the owner who lives on site and is always around. Visiting last week for the first time out of London since Covid, it was easy to find a quiet spot in the extensive, beautifully manicured gardens. Well maintained pool area and lawn tennis court. Breakfast is ordered the day before so as to minimise contact with friendly staff, but any adjustments are not a problem. Airy breakfast room with doors to terrace, but we were fortunate to be able to eat outside on the beautiful patio every day ! No other refreshments served but you are welcome to make your own from facilities provided , and honesty bars, and take outside. Great quiet position - Coastal walks in either direction start from immediately outside the gates.
Friendly clientele, and all in all a super place to base yourself to unwind and explore the island. Everyone else we spoke to had the same opinion as us !!

What a hotel - location, view, room, service & to top it all the personal touch from the owners David & Arielle. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like a very welcome guest in their home, but with all the trappings and service of an exclusive hotel. We took 2 of the suites for our family of 5 and dog. The pool, tennis court, honestly bars and sheltered sun traps have been well used. Great access to coastal walks just outside this gated property, and incredible breakfast. The design features throughout the house and garden are testament to the artistic vision of the owners. Significant investment of time and money has been made into the highest quality refurb of any period property I’ve seen. Thank you for giving us an incredible holiday. I only write reviews when we’ve had a particularly outstanding experience... this is one of them. Also worth noting that I thought they took health and safety precautions seriously - attention to cleanliness was evident.
