Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Glorious sea views, lovely swimming pool and croquet. Beautiful building and interiors, best breakfast (including veggie and vegan options) we've had in ages with lots of nice touches like honey from the garden bees and homemade cake. The owners really care about their hotel and their guests. Hope to go back soon.

Hotel's Favourite
Just back from 4 days in this wonderful hotel. Lovely room, great service, fabulous position on cliff above the sea. The garden is magnificent as are the public rooms. We didnt use the pool but it looked very nice. Breakfast was excellent, cooked to order. Many fine restaurants nearby which David will recommend. The cliff walk just outside the garden is superb, with steps down to the beach and lovely cafes on route. Cowes and Yarmouth are well worth visiting, as is Osbourne House ( dont miss the Royal beach and bathing machine!). With excellent weather and a carefree and enjoyable ferry crossing from Southampton, who need the South of France? Expensive but worth it.

My wife and I just spent three nights at Haven Hall and are in agreement with all of the superlative reviews. This is truly a first class boutique hotel (restored 1908 Edwardian house) with views over the English Channel; David and Ariele are great hosts; the breakfast is super; and there is secure parking on the grounds behind a locked gate. One of the greatest advantages of the hotel is that it is only feet away from the Isle of Wight Coastal Path (see picture). Some guests would arrive for breakfast after taking a walk on the path; others would take a walk after breakfast. For those people who would rather not drive or take a taxi to a restaurant for dinner at night, there is an additional plus. A six minute walk from Haven Hall on the Coastal Path will take you to the Hideaway (see picture), a family run restaurant with tremendous views over the Channel. This is good local food for happy and loyal local people; my wife and I were the only tourists. I had the best beef stew I have ever had.

Such a pleasure to stay somewhere where excellence has been pursued in every detail from the greeting by David, the charming owner, to the accommodation, wonderful breakfasts and award winning grounds. An expensive place to stay but we’ll worth the cost.

Ever dreamed of having an elegant country home on the English coast? Complete with tennis, pool, gardens, terrace, all overlooking the sea, David and Arielle welcomed us with warmth and gracious hospitality. They gave wonderful advice for restaurants and places to see when the weather was lovely, and the day it stormed, we sat in the bay window and watched the weather while playing scrabble and backgammon. Fancy a drink? There is an honor bar and free coffee and tea anytime. Food allergy? No problem. They will make a marvelous breakfast, with homemade lemon curd or marmalade. We stayed in room number 1 which is magnificent and has grand views of the sea. Comfy bed, good pillows, great bathtub. We watched another family arrive by helicopter from our window. We hope to return for another relaxing stay.

This is a sanctuary of a hotel, with verdant grounds, opulent chambers, and serene pool. It’s a haven of serenity very conveniently nestled just steps away from the coastal walk. David and Arielle are attentive and dedicated and have interesting stories to tell. The friendly and tranquil ambiance, as well as the divine breakfasts also makes this place exceptional. I can’t wait to go back.
