Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We camped at Ninhams (2 adults and 2 children (4 and 7) in June 2021 and would definitely recommend this idyllic and well kept campsite. The campsite was spacious, the toilets, showers and other communal areas were clean and there was plenty to do in the near surrounding area as well as the Isle of Wight generally.

We took our bikes and were able to make use of the nearby cycle / walking paths. We loved our location in the campsite (plot 79 I think) as there was a large spacious area in the middle of a number of tents where the children were able to play with other campers safely. It was truly idyllic.

The swimming pool booking system worked well and my son loved the climbing wall.

What can I say? From my initial phone call this is without doubt the best site we've stayed at! Family of 4, 2 teenagers. When booking they arranged my ferry crossings which saved me quite a bit of money. The site is easy to reach and just off the main road, about 1/2 a mile up a track. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us - but only when we needed help. The pitch was huge - only downside is that we were there for 8 nights during a heatwave and had no shade whatsoever from dawn till dusk. We had to make do with sitting under trees in the field. The site is nicely divided into a number of small fields which are beautifully maintained. It was lovely to see neighbouring campers talking and children playing games together! The toilets and showers were large and clean and the cleaning team were very thorough. The pool was a godsend as it was just so hot and using the booking system to limit numbers was really effective. A tad frustrating for others (and staff) when people booked a slot and then didn't show or cancel. Local Morrisons is just under a miles' walk and the Red Squirrel Trail is just behind the campsite - great for walking or cycling. Both Shanklin and Sandown with their lovely sandy beaches are a small drive away which makes the location of this site ideal. My only suggestion would be to have on site freezers and fridges which we've been used to on other sites as keeping food cold in our electric cool box with the heat and sun was really difficult.

We had a fully serviced well cut grass pitch which was large, level and not too close to neighbouring caravans. The views across the countryside from our pitch were lovely and we liked the fact that areas of grass were left to attract bees and other insects. The toilet block with good, hot showers was always spotlessly clean.
The heated swimming pool was the perfect temperature and the swimming pool area well maintained. Site staff were always available and were very helpful and friendly.
Three supermarkets were within easy walking or cycling distance and the town of Shanklin was easy to get to on foot, bike or by car. There were lots of great cycle routes in the area that we were able to make good use of.
This was a fantastic site and we will be back for another visit.

This is a lovely campsite run by lovely people. Very clean and well kept and a nice place to be. All pitches are electric and the water points were close by. Plenty of privacy too and plenty for the children to do. It’s about 2 mins drive from a decent supermarket but you’d never guess civilization or the sea was so close.
There’s a nice heated pool which you need to book a slot for during COVID times but it worked very well.

The owners were very accommodating and supplied recycling bags on arrival which is very decent. Excellent washing/showering/sanitary block with piping hot water and very clean.
We spent 4 enjoyable days chilling out here, playing games, BBQing etc. the children loved it. It’s our second time and we’ll go again.

This campsite is a wonderful rural retreat just outside Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. It’s well signposted from the main road and easy to locate.

It’s quite possible the best campsite I’ve been to recently. The facilities (toilets/showers/laundry) are absolutely first class, the site also includes a swimming pool.

Very easy Covid secure check in and efficient helpful staff with clear written instructions & site map provided including my pitch.

The pitch (pitch 23) is just perfect and clearly marked out and plenty of space and benefitting from an electric hookup if required.

Great site with good facilities, toilet block very clean, nice little playground and games room for the kids. Pitches are a good size. All the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. We were originally booked for 3 nights and ended up staying 5, it’s a good location for exploring the island.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Orchard campsite at Ninham - probably our 5th trip there now, and we love to return as it's always well maintained, with toilets and showers kept beautifully clean with plentiful free hot water in the showers. We always book an extra large pitch and there really is a feeling of space. The booking system for the pool works well. Great location, off the main road so quiet, but within a few minutes drive of a big supermarket and easy to drive to lots of attractions - Robin Hill, Godshill, donkey sanctuary, Sandown and Shanklin all within 15mins drive.

Currently staying on pitch 51.. beautiful park. Showers and toilets plentiful and beautifully cleaned. Washing up failicities agsin are brillliant. Park is kept in prestige condition. Staff are friendly and welcoming and helpful. I love the way they check area regularly. The laundry room is excellent and not overpriced at £3.00 per wash at 40 mins or tumble. Lovely bridle ways and very well sign posted.. wear sensible shoes. pitches are excellent sizes and not cramped in. I have no complaints. Feeling very relaxed in a quiet park. Was busier when we arrived just before close of half term but that is only to be expected. Oh the games room.. getting experts at table 🏓. lovely games room again not overly priced. Thank you Ninham keep up the good work.

We have just stayed at Ninham for a week and it’s a fantastic campsite. The pitches are very spacious and feel private as the site is large. The badminton and table tennis pitches were great and the family enjoyed the pool too.

The facilities block was modern and mostly very clean. Showers were hot. Plenty of toilets/showers/basins available. The family cubicle was really handy with young children too. The laundry room was handy.

The staff we encountered were friendly, it didn’t feel obtrusive at all. I liked the ability to easily recycle too.

Very minor points that would improve would be for the showers to stay on longer than 15-20 seconds which other sites seem to do. It’s quite hard to shower yourself and 2 kids in the family cubicle as you have to push the buttons constantly. Also a freezer in the laundry room would be a bonus too for ice blocks.

We will definitely be returning!

We visited Ninham Country Holidays as we were attending the IOW Festival. On arrival we received a warm welcome and were escorted to our pitch (93) by a very kind man in a red car. The site was exceptionally clean and the pitch was exactly what we needed.

The toilet/shower/wash-up facilities are of an extremely high standard and cleaned and restocked regularly.

We didn’t spend a huge amount of time on site but the time we did spend was great.

If we visit the IOW in the future we will definitely consider this site. Highly recommended.
