When we arrived we were very pleased to find this small hotel was immaculate when we walked in. We were very much off-season at the end of October but the hotel had been kept very clean and tidy and the garden was still also in perfect condition. When we went up to our rooms the children were delighted with what... More

Recently returned from a stay at The Carlton and was extremely impressed by the standard of rooms and quality of service. The hotel is just a short stroll from the beach which is clean and has plenty of activities for kids and adults alike (the banana boat was an experience!). Robert and Ann were perfect hosts - always on call... More

Just back from a great four night stay at the Carlton hotel. Having a young family (a 2 year old and a 2 month old baby), we were so lucky to find the Carlton which accommodates young children, - many other hotels on the island have a minimum age for children of around 10. It was our first visit to... More

Just had a 4 night stay at the Carlton Hotel. My wife and I hadn't been there for a few years, but on arrival it was obvious things had not changed. Our reception from Ann and Bob was so friendly, our room was ready, clean and inviting, with tea making facilities at the ready! Breakfast was really what you wanted... More

We use the tea garden frequently lunchtime drink with crab sandwiches - perfect. As for Anne's Seafood Platter - just to die for - should not be missed. This time we were there for a 70th birthday - whole weekend - so stopped overnight. Well, as it says in reception, "Welcome To Our Home", says everything. Every room is lovely... More

As you travel around the Isle of Wight, or research accommodation and restaurants, all you will see is them claiming to be the Island's 'best kept secret'. They can't be, because this is it! We've just returned from a 5 night break at the Carlton Hotel and, as fairly seasoned travellers, I can honestly say that I have never stayed... More

We had a great three night stay at The Carlton. Bob, Anne and the team were great hosts and we were made to be very welcome. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay on the IOW. This was our 9th visit to The Carlton and we are booked for 2017. The accommodation is very well maintained, clean and... More
