Detailed Reviews
Following a recent first class stay, Andy and Jo should be leading the B and B industry by teaching everyone else how it should be done! Hosting skills, quality of room, facilities and location and the breakfast serving can only be marked as 12 out of 10! I travel widely but I had yet to come across somewhere that was FAULTLESS in every way. I have found it here at the Shoreside with two of the kindest and most welcoming people you could ever wish to meet.
Congratulations to you both on everything you do and YES we can’t wait to return!

From the moment Andy and Jo welcomed us in from their own car park we were impressed with the friendliness and help from them both. We had the Shanklin suite (reasonably priced) directly overlooking the sea and the sound of the waves.
The bathroom and furniture were excellent, tv and unlimited tea and coffee etc and a small fridge - which if I am being fussy was a bit noisy so I unplugged it at night!
Breakfast despite Covid restrictions was very good with much choice and we were both stuffed every morning.
An excellent stay and for us almost faultless hospitality.

From the second we drove into the carpark we had positive vibes about Shoreside Inn. The room far exceeded our expectations: spotlessly clean, spacious, comfortable and an amazingly hot shower. The room was cleaned every day; the milk in the fridge replenished and there was always a variety of teas to choose from. The beds were very comfortable and having a view that looked out to the sea was the icing on the cake.
Breakfasts were always freshly cooked, the variety was vast and you could eat and eat. All guests were invited to walk out with a brown paper bag each morning containing a freshly cooked croissant - perfect for elevenses.
Nothing was too much for our two wonderful hosts; their knowledge of the IOW was huge and we really appreciated the guidance they gave us with regards cycle routes. Would not hesitate to recommend Shoreside Inn to our friends.

Absolutely, without doubt, the perfect place to stay in Shanklin. Andrew and Jo do everything they can to welcome you, and make your stay enjoyable, the rooms are spotless, and provide everything you need, fresh milk, and water in your own little fridge, top class teas and coffee’s. Breakfast is superb, all fresh cooked and high quality ingredients, the little bag of danishes to take away for later is very thoughtful. Can’t recommend enough

We had a text from the Shoreside inn informing us our room was ready for us and as we parked in the car park we were greeted by Andy, one half of what makes the Shoreside Inn tick!
Andy carried our bags in and we were introduced to the other half of the Shoreside, Andy's wife Jo. After a brief intro to breakfast and possible places to eat out Andy showed us to our room, we had chosen one of the balcony rooms at the top of the house, a large double room with a comfy double bed, two seater settee and a commanding view of the street and the open water of the English Channel.
The room offered a good size walk in shower with rain drop shower head and smaller spray and separate toilet room. The room was immaculately clean, in fact the every where in the building was immaculately clean.
Breakfast was superb offering typical full English or a choice of things. Jo had prepared a fresh fruit salad which I had with a fruit yogurt as well as a full English! Coffee and juices were offered we certainly didn't go hungry and then we were offered some Danish pastries to take away with us!
Andy is the face of the Shoreside, Jo is the engine, both non fussy and happy to do all to make you feel welcome.
One nice touch was having a small fridge in the room which was kept topped up with fresh milk and water, a great idea, it also housed a beer and a bottle of Rose...we supplied that!
There is a good chance we will return here. An excellent place.

We finally made it back to our "happy place" after being disappointed to have to cancel in April and June and it was definitely worth the wait.
We were greeted as always by Jo and Andy on the car park, albeit at an appropriate social distance, and shown to our room. They have all the appropriate measures in place, ie hand sanitiser, no scatter cushions etc but it still feels special with the lovely spacious and spotlessly clean rooms decorated in Jo's perfect style.
Breakfast is exceptional with the usual high quality local ingredients. They are serving a lovely hand prepared fruit salad to compensate for having to remove the breakfast bar and this was a perfect start before tucking into the cooked breakfast but leaving room for some toast and the selection of Jo's homemade jams or marmalade.
The sound and view of the sea from our room made the world seem like it was "normal" and you could almost imagine coronavirus was a nightmare especially as we had beautiful sunny weather for most of our stay.
This really is the perfect place and we can't wait to return.

We’ve just got back from a 3 night break and would definitely recommend this place.
When we arrived and parked our car, Andy came out to welcome us and take our luggage. He then gave us a local map and told us all the places worth a visit, whilst Jo took our luggage to our room.
Our room was very large & had it’s own private balcony overlooking Shanklin beach and most importantly it was spotless. There’s tea & coffee in the room, with a mini fridge containing fresh milk and water which are replenished daily.
Breakfast was really tasty and made to order, beautifully presented with specials every day and thick cut toast and home made jam, and afterwards there are fresh baked pastries to take away.
This place is definitely worth a visit.
Thanks again Jo and Andy for your hospitality!

The hosts were absolutely wonderful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Location was idea for exploring and offered free parking. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night!!

Have just returned from 5 nights at the Shoreside Inn. The owners Andy & Jo were fantastic hosts, from helping carry the luggage, recommending the best restaurants, and places to visit. The breakfasts were amazing, as was the housekeeping, cleanliness, and the quality of the accommodation. Our ground floor room was very spacious with a sea view, nicely decorated, had its own veranda, a large walk in shower, a mini fridge, and a super king bed. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this boutique accommodation to anyone.

+1
Even before arrival they assisted us with information and help with restaurants.
On arrival we were greeted by the amazing Tony, a man massively invested in his passion for his work. He gave us maps and brochures with loads of helpful guidance on places to visit. He left our bags to the side whilst we had his signature briefing. On return they had already been delivered to our room by the invisible Jo.
The room was beautiful and superbly appointed. Lovely shower and stunning views. Right on the seafront, but as the road goes nowhere in one direction there is little traffic.
Breakfast is a thing of pure beauty, lots of options. Not least Jo's "specials". Hard to choose but I'm a traditionalist re breakfasts. The full English was stacked with quality ingredients nothing cheap to make them money. You will not leave hungry! Make sure you take Jo!'s freshly cooked pastries with you!
At breakfast we got to meet her too. No less passion for her craft.
Nothing to criticise much to laud!

Per room, phone Andy and Jo directly for best price, don't go through booking agency.
Hi Jo, yes we do have a ground floor rooms available. This winter we have taken out the bar & restaurant and converted into two rooms. They both have ensuite shower rooms (not wet room), beautiful sea views and also their own private sun terrace. The new breakfast room is also on the ground floor. There is one step from the car park into the hotel. If you would like to discuss further or have any questions or queries then please contact us directly on 01983861393.
These new rooms are not available to book online at the moment only direct through us . We are due to reopen for the season on Friday.
Regards, Jo
hello,
I'm afraid the hotel is closed for the winter & reopens early spring.
As far as I know they do not have any sitable facilities - why not give them a ring?
Hello re,
Yes all 6 rooms are en suite with large showers. Room 1 is our only room with a roll top bath, but also contains a small corner shower. Hope this helps? Jo
