Ignore the negative reviews of the Gun Deck! Pictures on the website don't do it justice. Walk into light and airy tiled kitchenette, equipped with all you need, with great breakfast hamper provided for your stay. Beautiful driftwood based glass dining table and two double sofas, dresser and tv in lounge area. Yes bedroom is a little snug, 4.6 double. But you can get out both sides. Hand basin & chest of drawers etc. Ensuit loo and shower cubicle. Small private patio with Seaview Will definitely return

Fantastic setting overlooking the sea, we sat outside and enjoyed the views and sunshine but there was plenty of seating available both inside and outside. We shared the captains seafood platter, absolutely delicious!! Fresh and tasty, Definitely recommend ! If seafood is not for you there was plenty of choice on the menu and everything brought out looked amazing. Will definitely be back next time I’m in the Isle of Wight.

It was just so nice to sit outside, watch the waves rolling onto the beach, have some good pub food and enjoy. It all felt very Mediterranean. Just a great place to relax with friends. The food was good pub food, fish and chips excellent, all great!

It was a fabulous place to stay.the weather also was so good. The amidship was our apartment and apart from the old type electric hob and a well used frying pan everything was perfect. We walked along the coast to Steephill cove and it was well worth the climb and very picturesque. Made it to the bus and toured the island. Crab and prawn sandwiches in yarmouth were delicious also in shanklin, but the evening meals in the spyglass inn were the best..lovely staff a full fridge when we arrived and i would definitely choose this accommodation again..

Lovely place. We came here last year and thought the food was ok but coming back this year we were really impressed with the menu and quality of food. Quirky and fun surroundings and good quality food, would recommend! We went with our kids who are under 5 and we felt very welcome there. Probably not the place for a romantic meal but lovely for a meal and drink with loved ones.

The access is via a metal, external, narrow, steep and slippery staircase. There is no mention of this on the website and although we are able bodied we struggled to negotiate them, especially in the dark. The kitchenette needs some tlc, particularly the cooker and pans. The tiny wardrobe was half filled by a vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board and there was no chair or buffet in the bedroom.

Amazing place to find at the end of Ventnors prom. Meals though a bit pricey were excellent. Wife said it was too "cluttered" but, i found it very interesting inside historically myself. Being on the sea front viewing the sea while eating was perfect.

Very nice food and had a delicious cheese burger. The food came in a satisfactory amount of time and the chips were very nice as well. The sea themed decorations were a sizing to look at and a lot of the things there made me wonder what they were. Also the view of the sea outside was breathtaking!

the spyglass inn was a terrible experience for my family and friends as the 'salad cream' inside my beef burger was making my burger pate slide around! although I and my friends had a nice view we had to move inside as the benches were wet and again, we noticed a danger. there was a live wire that was cut open for some reason near my dog neo. The bar services weren't particularly good either because I and my friend went to order non-alcoholic drinks (which I explained to the bartender) we were told "I can't serve you now go back to your seats" this left us a surprise by this hurtful comment. Finally, I kept hitting my head on a stupidly placed lamp which resulted in multiple head aces so im saying that this was a awful expirience an i wouldnt go here again
