It was our first visit here with Freedom Families. We have friends who have been coming for years so we have it a go. I won't lie I was a bit shocked by the simple rooms as no TV! But that passed quickly. We had an awesome time. The food was good and plentiful. The staff were brilliant and it was great being around parents and children who understood autism and learning disabilities. The outdoor pool was a big draw everyday along with the various activities going on throughout the day. It was a great experience for our boys and we look forward to returning next year.

Rooms were basic to good (the smaller ones). The facilities were bountiful - a pool, archery range, places to sit in dapple shade, outside tables, table tennis, a hot tub and a large lawn to loll on. A short walk to the sea, great coastal path and local seaside villages in walking distance with great restaurants in great locations. The decor was decadent and lovely and a rabbit warren of a house in some places. It was great as a whole group of 60+, children and adults. Kitchen facilities are all there if catering on mass and the staff were available and helpful. This place is all about where it is and the beautiful grounds and surrounds.

We've just spent our half-term break at East Dene in a group of 60+ friends ranging from 4years to almost 60! This venue is perfect for such a wide age range as it allowed the revising secondary school kids at least one room to study well away from the smaller forces of nature! Lots of activities on site and we took up the archery and raft building activities as part of our booking - great fun and very well organised. It's a stunning location and the house has some magnificent rooms. I hope we'll be back!

Just back from a fantastic 5 days spent at East Dean with a group of 60 friends (adults & children). Beautiful house in a stunning setting. Staff were friendly and accommodating throughout the whole process.

We have just had an amazing weekend at East Dene with our family. The staff were amazing and extremely helpful and made us very welcome. We could walk to the local beach and we had booked an hour swimming in their outside heated swimming pool, which we all enjoyed. We had a lovely family time together.

We stayed at East Dene earlier this year while in the area on business. The rooms were beautiful and the staff very helpful and friendly. the historic house of East Dene itself is one of the most stunning properties I have seen and sits in the most beautiful clifftop location. The large private grounds and woodlands are very well maintained. Unsurprisingly East Dene has become a popular venue for weddings. The town of Ventnor a short drive (or 20 minute walk) away has many excellent places to eat and the lovely Bonchurch Inn is just a five minute walk up the hill. I would strongly recommend a stay!

I recently stayed here in a group of 110 mixed adults & kids. From the moment I made an enquiry through to the stay itself, the staff cannot have been more helpful. The place itself is perfect for a large group. Beautiful grounds, with a path directly down to the beach. And the views across the sea are stunning. Rooms were a mixture of bunk beds & single beds, basic, but very clean & tidy. The food was fantastic and all our dietary requirements were catered for. We used the pool which was great. I'd highly recommend this place if you are a large group or school.

Fantastic location on the outskirts of Ventnor overlooking the sea across a charming green garden. An old building with bags of character and original features. The food is all home made and in many cases included in the booking price. The staff are extremely helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Don't overlook this location when looking for accommodation. The rooms are clean but you need to book early if you want a private room as many are equipt with bunk beds for adventurous training for school groups. It is very quiet at the weekends (no school parties) which i recommend if you want lots of peace and quiet.

We were a group of x16 young people and adults staying in the isle of wight for a three day music course. East Dene was the perfect place for us as the musicians had the beautiful wood panelled room to practice in with views down over the sea and we had the well equipped kitchen at our disposal to provide the catering. The students could walk down to the beach or off up onto the beautiful cliffs in 5 mins so there was always plenty to do.The staff went out of their way to be helpful and we are extremely grateful to them for making our stay in Bonchurch so memeorable. Thanks so much and see you next year !

No better place to stay with friends or colleagues than East Dene, Bonchurch which is on the beloved Isle of Wight. Despite being early December, we had clear skies and sunny spells and the glorious splendour of East Dene which looks out on beautiful grounds and met by the sea (which you can walk alongside all the way to Ventnor - on the flat!). It was warm, cosy and the bedrooms were tranquil, lean and comfortable. The breakfast was ample and delicious while the downstairs rooms were fabulous for reading, relaxing and taking time out. A beautiful location where you unwind and delight as soon as you step over the threshold. Fantastic friendly and efficient staff too. We also had fun music rehearsals and beautiful walks to the woods and ancient churches nearby. This is a must.
