Situated in a lovely location right next to the sea and walking distance to a few shops and restaurants. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The view from the sea view room was amazing, very relaxing sitting on the balcony listening to the waves. The room was a good size, and the bed was fairly comfortable. We were seated in the bar area for breakfast, which also had a great view over the sea, and Suzanne made us a delicious breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

We returned to The Hambrough for another romantic weekend away. The food was amazing, the lamb was perfectly pink and so well presented. The caramel apple tart is a feast for the eyes, and that's before you taste it. Our room overlooked Ventnor harbour and out into the Channel. It was a delight to listen to the waves all night and you really can see the passing ships at night from your pillow.

This is a lovely hotel in an excellent location overlooking the sea. The rooms are very nice and the Restaurant is particularly good, serving high class food. We only had dinner there on one night but the meal was beautifully cooked and presented. The staff in the hotel are also friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were excellent with a varied menu and the main course was cooked to order. Its also in a good location with several restaurants and pubs within walking distance if you want to eat and drink elsewhere on some occasions. We were there for a week and had a really nice time though disappointed that we were switched from the room we had specifically booked (we need a walk in shower) to a different room that didn't have this facility. Hopefully this was a 'one off' mistake rather than a sign of any future problems. In fairness to the hotel they did give us a discount on our final bill in recognition of the problem with the room. Despite the problem with the room I would still highly recommend the hotel as I doubt very much that this is a regular occurrence and it is a lovely hotel.

Two of us stayed for 10 days in September 23 and we found the hotel very comfortable with friendly and professional staff. We had one of the larger rooms with a balcony which overlooked the sea which was great and it was worth the higher price. The room was spacious with a settee and two individual chairs which was nice to relax in after a day touring around the island. The breakfast was excellent as it was all served at the table with no buffet and there was a good choice and the food was lovely and well cooked. You could even have kippers or porridge and the poached eggs were just perfect. We eat once in the restaurant for an evening meal and although pricey the food was outstanding and well worth it. We had the lamb cooked three ways and the presentation was amazing. We went to the bar before the meal and were given some nice nibbles with our drink but unfortunately we were rushed to our table before having time to enjoy our pre dinner drinks. One other point was that the waitress just poured our wine straight into the glasses rather that let one of us taste it first. The only other slight issue was that the bedding was a little tired especially the pillows and we were not sure if the sheets were changed during our ten day stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Hambrough as it is very quiet and comfortable and in a good location in the town. We would highly recommend the hotel and will certainly return.

We had lunch here and it really was incredible. The chef understands depth of flavour and allows each individual ingredient to speak for themselves. An absolute pleasure to enjoy fantastic food, in a wonderful location with good service. Extremely good value for money. Bookings essential as it is very popular and you'll be disappointed if you don't get to sample this fantastic restaurant.

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay, room 1 is lovely, from the view, to the quality of the bedding and furnishings. The room was cleaned every day and beautifully too. The breakfasts were very good too, plenty of choice and again good quality. All the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Hambrough as a place to stay. We ate in the restaurant on Saturday and thought the food was of a very high standard and deserved the awards. Gio made a great cocktail!! Please thank all the staff on our behalf

Alrhough pitched as z restaurant with rooms, our room was first class. Large size, comfy bed, booze fridge, large bath and decent sized dower cubicle. The view from the balcony is marvellous and south facing. Food at finner both delicious and well presented. Breakfast quality very good with black and white pudding! There is parking but you need your wits about you. There is a lovely, sheltered garden at the back. Staff very nice too.
