If you don’t normally consider a BnB, you need to think again. Forget your 5* corporate hotels on the mainland and head to Koala Cottage. Shona and Amanda are two smart cookies who understand exactly what makes a break special. All the details have been covered in one way or another in other reviews, so I’ll just say that we had a really wonderful stay here and will definitely be back.

Best mini break ever…the only thing that would have made it better would have been an extra couple of nights! The rooms are gorgeous, spotlessly clean, lovely extras you don’t expect like a record player and a decanter of very delicious sherry. Such a comfy bed, and great selection of teas and filter coffee. Breakfast is outstanding, definitely set us up for the day and most importantly no koalas were harmed in the making of the omelette! Shona and Amanda could not be better hosts - warm, friendly, chatty with lots of good tips and advice for where to visit during your stay. Can not recommend highly enough, and cannot wait to come back for a cocktail at the tiki bar!

My partner has limited mobility, so we wanted a quality B&B that provided easy access, no steps and a walk-in shower. Koala Cottage met our requirements very well. We stayed for 3 nights in the Ruby Suite - one of three suites which are basically an extension of the owners' own home. Shona and Amanda were excellent hosts, and provided a superb breakfast each morning, as well as good recommendations for places to eat in the evening. Highly recommended.

I don't know what I liked better, the beautiful room or the wonderful hosts. This place is gorgeous, we stayed in the sapphire suite. The room is spotlessly clean with beautiful wooden furniture and a huge comfy bed. There is also a sofa and the TV is hidden away in a large wall unit which also houses a very generous wardrobe and a mini fridge with complimentary bottles of water, and fresh milk. There is a large bathroom complete with a roll top bath , walk in shower and a very ornate sink with boiling hot water and there is no water pressure issues either. You also get to use some fluffy bathrobes. A lovely touch was that there is a record player in the room along with an eclectic mix of vinyl's. Outside you have your own parking space and enter through the side gate which takes you to the rooms with their own garden entrance, each with a small table and chairs outside for a drink in the sun. In the morning you take a very short walk to the breakfast room where you get to meet the hosts Shona and Amanda who will make you the best breakfast you have ever had whilst chatting to you like you have known each other for ages. What lovely ladies they are, very friendly and knowledgeable about anything you need to know and if they can help they will. They really make this a wonderful place to stay. I already miss our little breakfast club 😂 I have been going to the Isle of Wight for many, many years and stayed in a mixture of places but the Koala Cottage is by far the best, so glad we found this little gem and cannot wait to return.

We travelled as 2 couples and this was our 6th visit to Koala Cottage, it feels like coming home & being welcomed by family when we arrive & that makes it extra special. Nothing is too much trouble for Shona & Amanda and when we get into our clean, luxurious & comfortable rooms there are so many little extra touches that make for a more comfortable stay. Since my first visit to Koala Cottage this is absolutely my go to place to stay on the Island & everything about it is designed to make you feel relaxed & comfortable. The breakfasts are legendary & set us up for the day, the local produce is a super touch & the sausages are superb in particular. There is also a menu with several choices for breakfast so something to suit everyone & the portions are very generous. In the evenings we have 'cheeky tiki time' at the tiki bar outside our luxurious suites and as there are only 3 guest suites this means it is cosy & if there are people we don't know staying we all end up as friends by the end of our stay! This place is in the most beautiful village of Godshill & is so lovely & quiet at night with parking off road for the guests. There are also plenty of places to eat locally in the evening either walking distance or a short car ride away. This really is a superb location and the suites now have air con which is great in the hot weather, I also love the Victorian style bathroom suite & roll top bath, it is a real touch of luxury & the shower is great too with very good water pressure. I can't enthuse about Koala Cottage enough & am already planning my next trip!

What a beautiful place!! I stayed in the Ruby Suite. Very spacious, large bathroom with shower and separate roll top bath. Beautifully English, and complete with a mini bar and snack. Even a record turntable with a selection of LP’s. Breakfast is made to order with great portions. The owners are fantastic. This is one of the “happiest” places that I’ve ever stayed. Godshill is a beautiful village too with a choice of pubs and cafes.. all in all a fantastic stay. Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome. Will definitely be back in the future..

Such friendly hosts with warm and welcoming experiences. Breakfasts were special with big omelettes or large English breakfast and thick slices of bread and bacon, and that was after freshly made fruit salad or cereal. Literally steps away from the model village, which is so quaint and very large..well worth a visit. Plus a lovely pub over the road that serves great beer and food...(suet pastry pie is scrummy) and a really good vegan restaurant next door. Buses are easy to use and catch, and there's quick access 5 mins away to the red squirrel trail for cycling or walking. So once you've spent all day touring with so many options on tap its great to get back to a huge room with sofa, have a glass of wine or hot chocolate and unwind knowing there's another big breakfast and friendly chat coming round in the morning.

This is our second visit to Koala Cottage and it certainly won't be our last. Everything is perfect. Wonderful, friendly hosts who welcome you into their beautiful rooms. We stayed in the Ruby Suite but all 3 rooms are equally lovely. They all have their own entrances, patios and parking space. Luxuriously furnished, large and with opulent bathrooms. The suites are equipped with fridges and air conditioning. The gourmet breakfasts set you up for the day and are served by Shona and Amanda who are so friendly. Godshill is a picturesque village and Koala Cottage is in a stunning location.
