We agreed that Koala Cottage deserves its Trip Advisor 5* rating, based on our three night stay. The per night B&B rate is quite high, but as always you 'get what you pay for'. Shona offers a clear briefing about the room and the Covid secure measures that are in place to give confidence about safety and the bedroom, bathroom and breakfast area is spotlessly clean. Traditional furnishings in the large and well appointed rooms are comfortable and constructed of heavy pine: a fridge is a bonus, and a relaxing settee was appreciated. We thought that the duvet and pillow cases could be in need of an upgrade before too long? The squeaky flooring in our room was a little irritating. In contrast the breakfast room is more modern, bright, stylish and complemented with nice china and top quality linen table cloths and napkins. Shona's breakfasts are of legendary quality, with a particular highlight being the omelettes, with multi choice fillings. The balance between efficiency and friendliness is exactly right, and Shona is an excellent and experienced host . A final mention for location: Godshill is an ideal base for exploring the island, but in addition you have the benefit of excellent dining opportunities in easy walking distance. Our top recommendation is Woods Kitchen (see a separate review) We shall be happy to recommend to others!

Just returned from this extremely pleasant place. Everything was as advertised so our expectations were not disappointing. The rooms are very comfortable and furnished to a high standard with great facilities. Cleanliness first rate including covid protection. We felt very safe and Shona was very friendly helping out with plenty of advice and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast menu was varied and always served with a smile. The position of the accommodation could not be better, away from the main road but within 2 mins walking to centre. Would highly recommend Koala Cottage in the pretty village of Godshill. This was my first stay here although I have been to the Isle of Wight many times and know the original owners. This is located in the beautiful village of Godshill & is tucked away near the church with private parking. Each of the 3 rooms has it's own separate entrance & the rooms are large and luxurious with fantastic vintage bathrooms ensuite. The feel of the place is wonderful and being only 3 rooms it feels quiet and peaceful. Each room has a different gemstone theme & we were in the Ruby suite. The finish of the place is lovely there is everything that you need waiting for you including fresh ground coffee, fresh milk, water & sweeties! All of the usual amenities are there such as an iron & ironing board & hairdryer, there is free wifi & Sky. There are luxury toiletries in the bathroom, plenty of fluffy towels and lots of other nice little touches. Shona was very friendly & welcoming & cooks a fabulous breakfast! Nothing was too much trouble & there was a nice fresh breakfast menu which we chose from each evening for the next day. The breakfast room is light & airy & really well set up to maintain distancing. There are lots of cleaning wipes & hand gel all around the place to maintain safety measures. The place was very clean and felt very safe, a lot of care had been taken to make it a comfortable stay & I would recommend Koala Cottage to anyone wanting a bit of luxury in a central place on the Island, I have already booked my next trip.

Situated in the centre of the island, its perfectly placed as a base to explore the island. Situated in a pretty village with pubs and shops, and 25 minutes to anywhere on the island. Shona is a wonderful host, friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with an allocated parking space. The rooms have an old english theme but have all the usual hotel accessories plus a few more. We loved having a seperate access & door, with a pleasant courtyard to sit in. The breakfasts were cooked to order and were very good, with every effort taken to accommodate any requests or requirements. Shona has plans to improve the garden, so we will be looking forward to going back next year. I would highly recommend a stay.

Luxury B&B. This is our 2nd time here and doesn’t fail to impress. Massive comfortable room with settee, which is perfect for relaxing at the end of a day or if weather isn’t great. Shona, our host, is extremely pleasant and helpful and provides first class breakfast options. At Godshill it is central in the Island and perfect for visiting with nowhere more than 25 minutes away. Well set for managing Covid-19. Would happily recommend.
