Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very clean if somewhat impersonal establishment. Would have got a 5 star if there had been heating. My wife & l found the apartment on the cool side. Never saw another person whole time we were there. Also, 11am checkout proved a tad tight. The extra hour until noon would have been very beneficial, to do some last minute shopping.

Response from Katya C, General Manager at The Town House
Responded 12 Sept 2023
Thank you for your feedback Richard. I'm really sorry you felt cold in the apartment, as it was an unusually warm couple of weeks our central heating was off, but we have plenty of heaters available and would have given you one if you had asked for it during your stay. With regards to 11am check out, all our apartments are quite big and we need to make sure there is enough time to thoroughly clean them after each departure, however we do allow later check outs when there is no further arrival in the same room on the day and we can always store your bags for you after or before check out/in. We would have happily given you a later check out should you have mentioned it. We hope to welcome you back again.

Have now stayed in the Townhouse a few times due to work. The welcome I always receive is second to none. The staff are amazing and so accommodating from complimentary food, extra bedding and amazing house keeping service. They make your stay very personal to you. The rooms are stunning, immaculately clean and well equipped. The dining in the coast is amazing also. Food is just amazing. I always look forward to staying here. So just want to say a massive thank you and hopefully see yous soon.

We were in Room One at the backend of the premises which does not have a view but we were far from disappointed with the accommodation. The fittings were of a high standard. There is a large room which includes a large double bed, a table, and two chairs, and a settee. There is a small separate kitchen with a fridge, microwave and a couple of hot plates and a large shower room (no bath). Our one criticism is that the TV (which had Sky channels including sport) could not be viewed from the settee which meant you had to sit on the bed to watch TV. Suggest the room is reconfigured as most people watch TV from a comfortable chair/settee. The location is fantastic at the best end of the very long promenade with the main town centre and shops a few minutes walk. It is also close to the ferry terminal. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We were originally due to visit in June 2020 but the pandemic prevented travel. We're glad we made the trip in 2021.

Just returned from a four night stay at The Town House . We were in a ground floor bay fronted suite/ apartment with sea views . It was excellent . The sitting room had a kitchen area where we could self cater if we wished . Very comfortable traditional furnishings . The bedroom was spacious with a huge comfortable bed . The staff were very friendly & helpful . I would recommend .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Town House. The cosy apartments are very well equipped and wifi was excellent. The view out to see was a delight and despite the ongoing roadwork along the promenade, we had no problem parking each night at no cost. It was a delightful base from which to explore the isle of Man and we would highly recommend it.

Visiting in winter can deliver winter weather, but a beautiful sitting room facing the Tower of Refuge makes even the wildest wind watching waves crashing over the sea wall and parked cars a change from sightseeing. The apartment is very quiet, despite being on Loch Promenade, and the kitchen and bathroom are modern and well appointed. TV in both lounge and bedroom was a nice bonus. The office staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Throughly recommended.

Really enjoyed our 3 nights in The Town House. Well located on the Promenade, with good shops and restaurants nearby. We had an apartment with a sitting room and kitchen that was clean and well presented. On arrival we were provided with locally produced bread, milk and other essentials which was appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful. The IoM itself was great for a short break and we found lots to do. Highly recommended.

As a family of 4, the town house was the perfect location for a family holiday. The apartment was spotless and afforded a real element of freedom that you don't get in a hotel with young kids, while we had all the benefits of a hotel - our beds were made, the place cleaned, etc... A real luxury was having a separate bedroom for the kids so we weren't stuck in the quiet and dark while they went to bed. Instead we could relax, have a glass of wine and watch the world go by out the window!

Stayed in The Town House for 3 nights it was fabulous spotless convenient and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The weather was poor (we got soaked) on return we asked for a heater - no problem it was supplied within minutes. We had a lovely sea view apartment and the thoughtful touch was mirrored glass as it was ground floor and on the front but it still afforded complete privacy. Couldn’t recommend any more highly.
