Stayed a Cubbon House in mid-July while over for the Southern 100
GOOD POINTS
Good location – walking distance from ferry terminus and the town centre shops are just round the back of the hotel.
Owners are fantastic very nice people.
Excellent breakfast.
The twin room we had was a good size with a good sized shower room with complimentary shampoo etc. all clean and tidy and with a sea view.
All the usual extras in the room , tea & coffee station , bottle water, hair dryer , TV and even a small fridge
Ironing board and iron available on every landing.
Housekeeping excellent – beds made every day, tea / coffee replaced etc and all communal areas clean ant tidy.
No bad points just a couple of observations – as with nearly all B+B / Hotels on the Isle of Man they are several stories high not many have lifts or air con .
Area
Allot of re-development is going on all along the prom some finished some still under construction.
Would I stay here again yes without hesitation?

I can't recommend it highly enough. Superb location within 5 minutes walk to shops, restaurants, ferry and buses, but still quiet. Paul and Lisa are very welcoming and friendly hosts. The room and en suite were spotlessly clean, equipped with everything that could be needed and even the single room was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable. My room was rear-facing so there was no view, but front facing rooms look right out over the beach and the bay, as does the Breakfast Lounge where a delicious, fresh and filling breakfast is provided. Overall great value for money and really enhanced my whole holiday.

We stayed at this hotel for a week & chose it because of the reviews & Iam really glad we did. It is in an excellent position on the sea front just a short walk from the ferry terminal & there is a bus stop almost opposite. Our room was clean & comfortable and the beds were made daily & the tea, coffee & delicious biscuits replenished. The owners were very friendly and helpful and even allowed us to leave our bags until nearer the time the ferry left. The breakfast was plentiful & delicious served in a room with a sea view. The only slight negative was the large number of stairs up to our top floor room but we managed them even though we're passed retirement!! Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future.

That’s my first review here and I usually don’t post anything but this one is an exception.
I spent more than 2 months at Cubbon house because of the local lockdown and this place became my home for a while. A few things which you should consider when you select it:
1) Location
It’s a very convenient area and you are in the middle of everything.
2) Price
Very affordable!
3) Room
I had a nice one with a sea view. Totally recommend!
4) Breakfast
You get traditional English breakfast and it’s so goood!
5) Owners
Very responsive and professional couple who always help to solve your issues!
Personally, I wish this place to be authentic as they are and a lot of clients! Thank you!

Comfortable, welcoming, convenient and great value.
This place isn't posh, I don't think it claims to be, but it ticked all my boxes.
It is in a prime location on the promenade close to the town centre and Sea Terminal.
My journey to the island was disrupted by Storm Kathleen, the owners couldn't have been more accommodating changing my booking as I would arrive a day late.
They also changed my room without batting an eyelid when a small problem appeared.
The freshly cooked breakfast every morning is a treat.

+1
We visited here for three nights after having to cancel in 2020 because of covid. The B and B is very nice and Lisa and Paul were so friendly and looked after us so well.
The B and B is located on the promenade and you can get to the airport in 25 minutes by bus and the stop is right outside the property. It’s also walkable from the ferry terminal.
Our room was a sea view twin and was really comfortable and had everything we needed. It was cleaned every day we were there.
The breakfast was also really good quality and cooked to order. Cereal and other options were available.
There are many restaurants and bars within walking distance.
We highly recommend this B and B and would stay here again when on the Isle of Man.

Made extremely welcome by Lisa and Paul who run this B&B, what a great place to stay overlooking Douglas Bay. I stayed in Room 5, a room with excellent sea views which were amazing and to watch the sunset in the early morning was brilliant. Room was excellent, spotlessly clean with an en suite and tea making facilities. Breakfast was everything you would want with great choices. 100% would highly recommend anyone looking for a B&B here in Douglas to stay here.

All the other top reviews cover my experience - Cubbon House is top notch. As a solo traveller, I've spent way too many nights in overpriced, under resourced accommodation. For location, quality and value, this place can't be beaten. A refreshing change to find every need catered for. Only had breakfast on one morning &...guess what....that was spot on too. Will be my 1st choice on any return visit. Thanks Paul & Lisa - be proud of what you offer.

My friend and I stayed here for a week and we would highly recommend it. Lisa and Paul were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our holiday memorable. Situated on the promenade it's easy to walk to all the attractions Douglas has to offer. The rooms were clean and the breakfast plentiful. We would definitely return.

Churchdown, United Kingdom269 contributions246 helpful votesCan I leave my luggage in a front room before catching the ferry home on my day of departure?
Dear Guest
Yes of course, you can leave your luggage in your room on your day of departure and we will take them down into the dinning room for you to collect on your chosen time
Kindest regards
Lisa
As previously stated, no, I'm afraid there is no lift. However I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I've been OK on 30 visits in the past 8yrs. It just depends on how badly you need one. Sorry, best I can do.
"Parking directly outside. Bus stops near - you can get a bus from the airport to the B&B it took about 35 minutes and under £6 for 2 adults"Read full review
