Stayed at the Claremont recently for 4 nights with my husband. After reading such good reviews, I have to say I was disappointed with room 310 which was quite cramped and faced the back of the hotel. The bathroom was wonderful though. The radiator in our bedroom was on full bl

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review of the Claremont. We note your mixed comments and thank you for your kind feedback on the service and food quality at breakfast. We have recently added the Lamb Chops to our Coast Bar & Brasserie menu with largely positive feedback, but we are naturally sorry you did not enjoy this dish. They are by nature a cut of meat that is served both on the bone and with an element of natural fat content, but this should certainly not be to the detriment of the dish quality but very much part of the presentation, we will of course monitor ongoing feedback. We note your comments on the room, which I have inspected. The heating to the room is indeed controlled by an adjustable thermostat, we are unsure as to why this did not work for you, but as you state in your review this was addressed. We very much value your feedback and thank you for choosing the Claremont. Kind regards, Mark

We are looking to take a trip to the Isle of Man when we come to the U.K. to visit family. My husband has mobility issues and cannot do stairs. Does this hotel have a lift and are the rooms accessible to people with mobility issues?
They certainly have lifts internally... The access front the street might be the issue but I would encourage you to email or ring them... There is plenty of room in the restaurant and other common areas. Apologies for not replying sooner.

Is there parking
The Claremont will give you a parking disk. You can then park on the street for free displaying this disk. However, you must move your car every 2 hours (or 3, I can't remember). You can't just go out & change the time on the disk, you have to physically move your car to a new spot. After a certain time (8pm, I believe), you don't have to move it til the next morning. But it is a nuisance. There is no other parking, however. There is a no disk zone, but it is a few blocks away.

Do all of the rooms have memory foam mattresses? Contrary to what is claimed, memory foam actually aggravates my back condition so I would prefer a sprung mattress but is it possible to request one?
The bed I slept on was a dual mattress, memory foam top with a spring base.

"ask for sea view"
"Rooms at the front have the sea views with comfy seats, and are cooler in sunny weather, but there is a supplement for them (£36 per day)."
"If you are there during their carnival across the street, ask for a quiet room but be ware some rooms are much smaller."
"Try to avid a room the gets late afternoon sun."
"Don't book rooms to the rear of the hotel!"
