Great location, friendly welcome, spotless rooms, spacious and best breakfast we’ve ever had in a hotel!! We did a two day staycation. The only suggestion I’d give the hotel is that the room were a tad warm even though the heating wasn’t on. In the grand scheme of things it was still a wonderful stay. We will be back in winter.

We stayed at The George for a mini-staycation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was fabulous - really big and nicely decorated, with an incredibly comfortable bed. The whole place has been done out really tastefully, respecting the heritage of this great traditional building while feeling contemporary too. Excellent food at extremely good value, and best of all the friendliest, most helpful staff you could imagine. Thank you.

We had a lovely two night stay at the George after our wedding. The service and staff were great, the breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. The only downside was the hot water in the shower - you only had the choice between very hot or scorching!

The George has been tastefully refurbished and we had a large room facing the castle, with everything we could possibly need. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and we were left a bouquet of flowers on arrival as they found out it was our anniversary. There is ample free car parking at the rear of the building. Breakfast was cooked to order and there is an excellent choice. Coffee was good too! We have already recommended the hotel for a staycation.
