Stayed one night, arranged at the last minute. Welcome was good. Room was spacious, at the back of the house and quiet. En suite (though for some reason the wash basin was not in the en-suite area). Tea making and hairdryer provided, also toiletries, but only small towels. There is no immediate parking though we were able to get a... More

Had a superb stay at Cara's Guesthouse. Fantastic location right on the sea front. Excellent value for money - would definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere nice to stay in Whitley Bay. The beds were very comfortable and the cooked breakfast was lovely. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful!

Lovely and clean B&B! Cara is absolutely adorable and was very helpful and understanding even with our group arriving very late at night. Lovely location by the beach. Very reasonable prices. I would definitely go back!

Was really hoping for a chilled night in a quiet b&b away from main bars and noise of Whitley Bay. I chose this B and B as it claims it is for couples and families. Unfortunately this wasn't the case for me. I was on the ground floor so heard all comings and goings. I also had the misfortune of... More

Nice place, clean and well maintained, great location but the lady running it is loud and uses bad language in front of children. The breakfast was very basic and for £100 I would have expected the "deluxe family room" to have a toilet.

Lovely staff, clean and tidy with a home from home feel. The seaside at the door and sea views from the bedroom was like seaside hotel experience in a guesthouse...excellent. Nothing was a problem to the staff so helpful. For me cleanliness and friendliness and both were 100%...will be back

I booked for 4 nights at The Cara before I had read all of the reviews. When I had read them I was a bit apprehensive because there are some bad ones. Then I thought it's only 4 nights so if I get the Fawlty Towers experience it might be interesting. When I booked on the phone I spoke to... More

My 72 year old father stayed here for just under a week while visiting me...Carol kept him right with her funny stories, great service and her down to earth ways! He had a lovely sea view single room, shared shower and was happy with the standard and cleanliness, and the never ending supply of tea, coffee and milk! Great bed, enjoyed... More

Comfortable bed and linen, very pleasant and friendly welcome. Nice sea-front location. Let down by dilapidated shared wc and showers, complete lack of parking even on surrounding streets and the English breakfast, which is cooked with old oil and should be avoided. No more than can be expected for a budget establishment.
