The Ocean Hotel, Sandown, Isle of Wight is a very large, old, Family run Hotel since 1958, the rear of which faces the ocean. The front of the Hotel is not so appealing as it is right on the High Street. Our room, with an ocean view and glass doors leading out on to a balcony, was very spacious with...

This was the 1st coach trip on my own after losing my husband. I went there with another widow and didn't know what to expect. The hotel was amazing - in it's heyday would have been, and still is, a really grand hotel - I had a really lovely time there - we paid for a seaview room, please do...

We telephoned at tea-time for somewhere to stay that saturday evening and were offered a family room with a sea view and balcony for £89 inc breakfast, which we accepted. We asked about places to have dinner and were told we could eat there for £8 each for a 3-course meal provided we were at dinner before 20:30- we accepted...

I went on this trip as a solo traveler.I was spoken to by the other trippers on the coach so didn't feel out of it. The coach and driver were first class and he kept us well informed. The hotel was clean and the sea front facing dinning room was very smart, as were the staff, the quality of the...

I have just had a very enjoyable week's coaching holiday, staying at the Ocean Hotel. It is two star so one has to be realistic in one's expectations: first, the good points: the restaurant was well appointed and tables were always attractively laid out with floral decorations, linen tablecloths, napkins and good quality cutlery and plates. The food was tasty...

Whilst this was a Shearing's Coach Holiday the hotel is not a Shearing's hotel. On the second day we were accused by the aggressive head barman of bringing our own drinks into the bar. We were told any drink must be left behind the bar which was then changed to we could take it to the room but could not...
