Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was my third visit with a coach company to the Burlington and it certainly never fails to deliver. Fresh, clean rooms, tasteful decor and wonderful staff. Tinsel and turkey was a lovely theme with cakes and mince pies in the afternoon and fantastic entertainment in the evenings with my only criticism being that the food was not as tasty or varied as last year. But that would not put me off coming again. Thank you to the management who run this hotel to an incredibly professional high standard and always get involved. I will be back!!

Nice hotel in good location, just a minute walk from Beach & High street. Breakfast lush , Dinner not bad, bingo & entertainment every night. Comfortable Beds, large rooms. Sandown a bit run down these days, but a lot of building work going on, so maybe a couple of years will be good again. Lots of good places to visit on IOW.

I went for 5 days Turkey and Tinsel at the Burlington. The hotel was clean and comfortable with a bar/lounge and a restaurant. The hotel rooms are basic but comfortable. The chief was brilliant being Vegan he came and discussed a menu with me for the week, but cooking to my choice after discussion. The dinning room staff were mainly young but very helpful and quick. The entertainment was good with the usual bingo and singers. The bar prices are reasonable. The hotel is seconds from the lovely sea front and there are shops near bye. This hotel is a good base to explore the island and buses stop a few minutes away.I Being an older building there are no lifts, but a lot of ground floor rooms also the is no porters.

Nice hotel, close to the sea front, clean cosy rooms. Shame evening meals were horrible. You can't fault the breakfast. But tonight's soup was disgusting. Mains just cooked from frozen. Cheap breaded frozen fish. Not worth £30 3 course meal! But nice pleasant stay otherwise

I have just returned from a very enjoyable stay with 39 friends traveling with Leisuretime on a tinsel and Turkey four day break. The food was fine, particularly the buffet breakfast, and the staf were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. The evening entertainment was excellent with plenty of seating in the comfortable bar and lounge area. This hotel is undergoing a complete refurbishment and there remains work to do,particularly the bathrooms and showers. However,it certainly is value for money and I would stay here again without question Well done Sara and your team

I’ve read the reviews before going and had mixed feelings. I am pleased to say we had a lovely stay. The staff were lovely , the food was absolutely fine. You can see they have worked hard on the refurbishment and yes there is still some work to go but they they don’t have a magic wand they’re doing their best so the moaners need to get a life. I did read somewhere is is a 2* hotel and I have to say I’ve stayed in worse 3* accommodation. We normally go 3* or 4* but it was a coach trip with friends, the Burlington is cheap and cheerful and I would stay again no problem.

I stayed at this hotel the beginning of October we came with a coach tour. We waited to book in to be told to sit down and wait as there was a mix up with our room. We are both disabled ladies and we had booked a twin room. After they had booked the rest of the people on our coach in, they came to us and said they had not got a room for us. They then offered us a double room each but one was upstairs and the hotel as no lift so we could not accept this. There was a gentleman in the reception who said they can have room 57. I can finish grouting it tomorrow. Well to say this room was small is an understatement. We had 10” to try and get through to the beds. The room had damp in the corners there was no heating. We had to ask for an heater. There was no hot water in the shower the shower door did not shut. When I asked them to look at the hot water the receptionist said run the hot tap first to build the pressure in the shower. They totally ruined our holiday to be fair. The receptionist was very abrupt. I have photos to show all this too.

Thank you so much for your review which is actually incredibly surprising. There was no errors from our point of view during check in but it was more so that you decided that you were unable to make the stairs at a time when the hotel was at full capacity. You were however incredibly grateful for the downstairs room you had been given despite being aware that it was currenty undergoing work. Your words were "it doesnt matter, I am just really grateful and you've made me so happy". Why provide a false and negative review? We are pleased that you have provided "before" pictures of your room, because the result of the work carried out of which was delayed until your departure, is an amazing turaround.
