We stayed in the Pine Martin Lodge which was very clean, comfortable and a beautifully presented lodge in a very quiet secluded location. We were greeted on arrival by a staff member who was very welcoming. Loved waking up In the morning and seeing the deer and llamas on the hillside and plenty wildlife In the area too and even red squirrels in the estate. Hot tub was great at night as it is so quiet and if you get clear skies it’s stunning. Plenty of local walks to do and even at this time of year was great. Bed was comfy, bathroom clean and nice toiletries supplied. Would highly recommend a stay here. Also been to the Solid Luxury sight in Dumfries but preferred this one for its remoteness.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mill House, a great location on the estate and we enjoyed watching the Llama's and the deer. We selected "Early Check in" so we could get the maximum out of our stay, however we were disappointed when we walked in and noticed the amount of dog hair on the floor and on the cushions on the sofa. There was so much dog hair that it was sticking to our feet and we spent the first hour of our holiday hovering the entire house to clean up the dog hair. Once we had hovered the house, we then went out onto the decking to get into the hot tub and that was when I seen the dog poo on the decking. At this point I was really annoyed and phoned the Helpdesk and asked them to send someone down to clean the decking. Within a hour, Duncan came round and apologised for the mess, he offered to clean it there and then or do it first thing in the morning, as we were already in the hot tub and it was dark we opted to have it done in the morning. At 8am the following day, I went out onto the decking and seen that it had been fully pressure washed. We then enjoyed the rest of our holiday with no issues, we didn’t leave the estate and enjoyed every moment. The Llamas were great entertainment, they came right to the gate next to the house and were very friendly and liked being petted. Duncan took us on a tour of the estate and took us to feed the Llamas and deer which was amazing, Duncan even let me drive the Polaris which I enjoyed so much there was no hiding my smile.

Despite the issue with the dog hair and dog poo we really enjoyed our holiday. Duncan made the holiday even better by taking us on the tour and letting us feed the animals. I wouldn’t be put off staying here again in fact I’m strongly considering booking up again, but having stayed in “Pet Friendly” forest holidays cabin which was immaculate on arrival, I am yet to make up my mind.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review for which you were very generous despite omissions on our part. This is not the standard we expect in our properties and someone will be in touch with you direct regarding your stay. We're delighted the onsite staff were helpful during your stay and that you got to experience feeding our deer and llamas. We do hope we can welcome you back to Drumfork or any of our other locations so we can deliver to you the standards we expect from the moment a guest enters our properties.

We were very lucky to be the first people to stay in the brand spanking new Roe Deer lodge. It is very spacious, beautifully decorated and has absolutely everything you could possibly need and more. The heating was very efficient so even on cool days we were really snug and warm even without the log burner on, perfect to come back to after relaxing in the hot tub!
Being dog friendly was a real bonus and our little westie loved it. The decking is 100% secure and there is even a large grassed garden he could have run about on had the weather not been so wet!
What really made the holiday was the people. Without exception every single person we came into contact with from Andrew the owner, to Florin (sorry if the spelling is wrong!) who took us to feed the deer, to the ladies who cleaned, were all so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and really wanted to do everything they could to make our stay perfect. Even the ladies in the office, particularly Athene went the extra mile.
The estate was beautiful and we took a walk up Andrew’s new road to really appreciate it. The wildlife is amazing and plentiful and as we left a delivery of fish was arriving for the pond.

We booked to return to Stags View next year with my parents as I know they will love it as much as we did....but if the opportunity arises I’m sure we will head back for a cheeky few days away...Covid permitting!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review. It is lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and I'm so glad in the end we could get your stay organised at Roe Deer. Great to hear even your dog enjoyed running around and you got to go and feed the animals! We look forward to seeing you both again at Drumfork and hopefully sooner than next year!

We stayed in Mill House. Spotlessly clean, tasteful decor with a luxury feel but still homely. The view from the decking and hot tub is better than watching the hi tech smart TVs installed in the house however it managed to keep my teenage daughter happy alongwith what we found, reliable WiFi. Would have attached more photographs but we are all in them😀. Daughter enjoyed getting out with Florin and the gang to feed the animals (this is in the morning so quite an achievement for a teenager).
All the staff really friendly and passed on great tips for walks, where to visit or eat out. The owner, Andrew, checked into make sure all was okay and we had a good blether👌.
I'm with other reviews keep the cover and garage on the hot tub at this property and the wood burning stove, just makes it all feel so luxurious.
Our dog enjoyed his stay with his hide chew and towel provided and great that decking area all enclosed so safe for him to go out.
This will be our 4th trip using solid luxury having visited Balmeadowside, Rossieochil, Newton Stewart and now Drumfork and we have a couple more booked in for next year.
Great company to use and never had any issues with any of the properties we have stayed at.

Our second stay, will not be our last! Absolutely fab week - lodge is perfect - all you need. Hot Tub is a highlight! We got plenty snow this visit which was magical. Duncan came every morning to clear the decking and also at the end of our stay, dug our vehicles out to make it easy to get on to road - very much appreciated! Booking our next visit shortly! If you love peace and tranquility with amazing views, this is perfect!!!

We are just back from our second break at Drumfork and once again it was fantastic. High quality dog friendly holiday accommodation with the benefit of being remotely located in beautiful countryside. We stayed in Millhouse this time and found it large, light and comfortable with enormous beds. If we had one small issue it was with the amount of crockery and cutlery. 6 x each item is not enough to make it through a single day without putting on a half empty dishwasher or hand washing dishes after every meal. Please please can we have more knives and forks?? On a luxury break no one wants to be washing dishes 3 times a day or using the dishwasher half empty.
On a side note Solid Luxury customer service is second to none, these guys are first class and could not be more helpful. We will return without question.

Definitely the best holiday let we've stayed in. Excellent luxury accommodation finished to a high standard with quality fixtures and fittings and in a stunning location with far reaching views. We stayed in the Stags View lodge and spent our evenings in the hot tub watching the cows, deer and lamas on the adjacent field before retiring to the lounge to light a fire in the log burner. It stayed light until gone 10pm so you could enjoy the panoramic view all evening. The owner of the estate dropped by one evening just to check everything was ok and the hot tub was treated every morning by staff. Absolutely brilliant experience and would highly recommend.

Fantastic lodge in beautiful area. Lodge was immaculately clean, kitchen well stocked with every piece of crockery and cooking devices you could think of. Owner knocked on door to say a quick hello and chat to us about the area. Great walks nearby for novice or seasoned walkers. We took our dog, nice little touch of a bowl, blanked and chewie added for her stay. Added bonus of a hot tub too. Would highly recommend and we will be back 😊

Stayed for 5 nights in the Roe Deer Lodge and was not disappointed. The interior was spotless and well decorated with fantastic views over the countryside and an enclosed garden. Underfloor heating is great for putting your feet down on a cold winters morning. We had one issue which was the oven wasn't working properly on our first evening, sent a text to the provided number and within about 10mintutes, a member of staff (Florin?) arrived not just to have a look but carrying a new oven and 10mintues later we had a working oven again, absolutely fantastic service. The layout is very good and more than big enough for 2 people with a good size wardrobe and plenty drawers. The wood burning fire really heats the place up and there is plenty more wood nearby if you run out. The staff are very friendly and always give you a wave. If you have wee ones with you a walk to the goats is worth the short walk as is a visit to the llamas. I would maybe recommend that you take a spare towel with you just for using when you are in the hot tub.

We stayed at Rose Cottage estate in December. The standard and quality of the rooms and shared spaces was luxurious. The terms and conditions were pretty daunting, and made us slightly nervous upon booking, however we were calmed when we arrived and read the guest book which provided more detail.

The hot tub was great, possibly not suited to 8 adults , but can't really complain at that. The master suite in this lodge was stunning, the smaller double was really very small in comparison, better suited to children as opposed to a couple. The downstairs twin was great and had a huge walk in wardrobe which was excellent for storage. We also brought a dog and he loved it, however the front door entry system wasn't entirely secure as the pressure from the exterior door would knock the internal door open with any pressure. Also there was fencing around the perimeter with a secure gate, however a medium/ large dog would have been able to climb the rocks , so not entirely secure for this purpose. All dogs are to be on a lead on the estate (which is appreciated anyway as we have a nervous dog) however not even possible to let them off lead within the immediate exterior of the lodge, so did have to be quite vigilant with the entrance way.

The scenery was beautiful and surrounding area was very pristine and quiet. Such a calming experience and would certainly return.
