We can't speak highly enough of our stay at the Lodge, from the moment we arrived, infact before that Louise kept in contact to ensure that we were met on arrival. The Lodge is furnished to the highest quality, comfy bed, reclining sofa, warm and cosy with heating and a gorgeous log burner. There is a choice of a shower room downstairs or the bathroom upstairs with excellent quality soaps/shower gels, cotton pads/buds and even a little sewing kit in the bedrooms. Everything we needed in the kitchen was provided, dishwasher tablets, washing machine tablets, to name but a few.We loved our welcome hamper with locally distilled gin and everything we needed on our first night there. The eggs from 'the girls' were delicious as were the biscuits! The flowers were a lovely touch and our dog, Norman had his own welcome pack too with dentistix, blankets, towels and bowls. The information in the Lodge was really helpful with maps, walks and local eateries, Louise also told us about www.dogfriendlyperthshire which was very useful too. We loved the Alexa! Louise responded quickly to anything we asked and was so friendly if we needed anything, Thank you so much!

Dear LightPacker601009, Wow, we are so pleased that you enjoyed all we have to offer here at Glenshieling Lodge - the self-catering option for those that want that little more independence from the Guest House. We do try and stock the Lodge with everything we hope you could possibly need during your stay. We don't want our guests to have to bring everything plus the kitchen sink - just your own provisions! Norman was a delight and we are so happy that he enjoyed his Doggy Welcome Basket too. Why would our furry family not deserve an extra special welcome too. There is so much to see and do here in Perthshire with some of the most stunning scenery to enjoy. We really hope to you both (not forgetting Norman too) back here again some time. Best wishes, Louise & Richard

Utterly blissful - literally couldn't fault the B&B or the hosts. For a start, we were welcomed with a pot of tea and homemade lemon drizzle cake!

The décor is the perfect balance of flamboyant and high-end, with various oddities to enjoy and nice Scottish touches throughout. And the views from every window are beautiful: large, established trees, rolling countryside and some very happy looking chickens (don't worry, there's no rooster!). All of the rooms are finished to a really high standard with numerous thoughtful details.

The bed was indescribably comfortable: the sheets super soft, the mattress the perfect firmness, the headboard great for reading.

While there wasn't a bath, the walk in shower more than made up for it. Great shower pressure, super soft towels, high spec bathroom products, and don't get me started on that bathrobe! I particularly enjoyed that there was a separate flannel for make-up, so I didn't ruin one of the fresh white ones when cleaning my face.

The breakfast was also top notch. I'm gluten free, and they were really generous with adapting my order to take out the parts I couldn't have, and instead load my up with extra eggs and bacon. Oh, and the eggs come from the chickens they keep on the property!

And the honesty bar? Who hasn't fantasised about playing Peggy Mitchell ;o) But apart from that, nice glassware, decent range of drinks (including several whiskies, obviously!), and very reasonably priced.

As if all that wasn't enough, ahead of our stay they also sent a helpful list of nearby restaurants and pubs for our evening meal, with little notes on each one to help us choose which would best suit our preferences.

I can't speak highly enough of the B&B or the hosts: John and Steve have outdone themselves. We started planning our next trip there before we even left!

We spent a fabulously relaxing week in the tasteful and comfortable Glenshieling lodge. Every comfort was thought of from our welcome into the lodge with fresh roses, prosecco, yummy biscuits, delicous fresh eggs from the Glenshieling hens and even some holiday tunes on the Alexa to the wood burning stove, extremely well provisioned kitchen and the cleanliness. Oonagh our Westie wasn't forgotten with all our furry friend could want from dog's bowls, chews ,biscuits and bedding. The lodge is set in the gorgogeous grounds of Glenshieling house 15-20 minutes walk away from Blairgowrie centre. The walk into town is lovely and takes you along by the river. There is lots to do in Perthsire and an abudance of helpful information about the area is in the lodge. Louise and Richard, the owners, are very warm and friendly and we loved the Facebook posts updating everyone on what was open and happening. We were a family of four with a dog and couldn't reccommend this holiday more.

Dear JollyToper, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We love preparing The Lodge for our guests arrival, both human and the furry kind! Why would our little furry friends not deserve a welcome basket all of their own..especially when their humans are enjoying theirs! Cleanliness has always been our top priority but during these particular times, we are following all our Government and Industry guidelines in terms of deep cleaning, so you can be sure in the knowledge of a safe stay. We are lucky that our location is just perfect for a lovely riverside walk into town to the local restaurants and cafes - all of which are now reopening in accordance with safety guidelines. Perthshire is a top spot for holidaying...with so much to see and do! We are delighted you la made the most of your stay with us. We hope you will come and stay with us again. Best wishes, Louise & Richard

Glenshielding house is one of the best B&B’s we have ever stayed in.
The hosts Steve and John are welcoming, friendly and attentive without being intrusive and always on hand should you need anything. The rooms are spotless, beautifully decorated and very comfy (best night’s sleep in a long time) In the rooms you will find a good selection of tea’s and a very nice filter coffee along with a welcome pack and info on what is available to see and do nearby. The whole B&B has a very eclectic collection of art that works very well at adds that individual touch that makes this place so wonderful to be in. Every time you enter a room you notice something else, it’s like a treasure trail waiting to be explored. They have very nice grounds to walk in and their own chickens to say hello to and who provide the fresh eggs each morning. The breakfast is wonderful and so filling that we didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day until tea time. We highly recommend the full Scottish or the Glenshielding stack. The honesty bar is a very good idea and one we have not seen before. It was nice to be able to sit and have a drink after returning from one of the restaurants in town we highly recommend Little’s fish restaurant and Cargills bistro. All in all a wonderful stay in a perfect setting and one we will be returning to again soon.

A beautiful and unique place to stay - would highly recommend. Recently stayed with my mum and we loved every moment of our 3 night stay at Glenshieling House. Breakfast was utterly delicious, rooms beautiful with stunning country views, and the warm hospitality from John & Steve was a real highlight! Thoughtful touches from the hosts also made our stay extra special and comfortable - as did the very luxe honesty bar and lounge. It all felt quite luxurious! With lots of woodland walks & restaurants nearby, Glenshieling is also the perfect location to explore surrounding Perthshire, Dunkeld, and Royal Deeside,

We recieved a fabulously warm welcome by the incredibly attentive and thoughtful hosts.

The house was spotlessly clean. The attention to detail was outstanding from the decoration in every corner of the home to high end linens and beds with quality treats in the rooms. I particularly enjoyed having fresh milk for my drinks and ground coffee for the morning, something I always miss when on the road.

My husband said it was the best breakfast of our tour of Scotland!

The house grounds and woodlands are well worth a stroll around.

Would definitely recommend!

I have just returned from a wonderful week in the Scottish highlands at Glenshieling House, Blairgowrie. It is a lovely Victorian villa set in immaculate gardens and even has its own "wild wood". It is so peaceful and quiet. The hotel is run by John and Steve who make you feel like one of the family the moment you arrive, nothing is too much trouble. The décor is beautifully done with little quirks that make this place unique. My room (which is one of 5) was very comfortable and overlooked the trees and the "Glenshieling Girls). They provide the eggs that go into one of John's delicious breakfasts which are cooked to order and not left on a hot plate or microwaved ! The choice on the breakfast menu is huge and the best I've ever had.
There is so much to do in the area and all quite close. If you have an interest in nature then this is the place to be. Across from them is a farm with highland cattle and their woods are full of birds. I booked two nature/photography trips with a local company, Nature Nuts, well worth doling .... fell in love with the red squirrels.
This was my first visit to Glenshieling House and it, most definitely, wot be my last.

We have just returned from Blairgowrie where we spent a wonderful weekend at Glenshieling House. We were warmly welcomed with a pot of tea by Steve, one of the very friendly owners. The guest house was spotless, the breakfasts which were cooked by John, were delicious. The rooms were very comfortable and well decorated, as was the rest of the house. We loved all the art work and stand alone pieces on show throughout the house. We would highly recommend Glenshieling House and look forward to returning in the future.

Very grateful for another wonderfully warm welcome from Steve and John at beautiful Glensheiling House last weekend. 🙏😊
From the moment you drive into the grounds you know this is a rare and special place. All the rooms are stylish and spotlessly clean; the bedrooms are beautiful and have stunning views ; very comfortable beds and little touches throughout makes you feel very indulged.
The food here has been excellent every time we have visited. Local produce and delicious ….. especially the eggs from the resident “ Glensheiling girls”! So nice to meet Gilly last weekend; she’s obviously a treasure! Thank you once again to Steve, John and Gilly. Looking forward to another enjoyable and therapeutically restful visit.
Missing you already!!! 😞
