The lodge although looking lovely, has the most uncomfortable sofa and chairs. However the location is beautiful, the staff helpful and once you use the cushions for both the dining and living area. You do realise what a delightful site this is. Lovely walks and well cared for grounds. We will return, but may take our own picnic chairs.
We had booked up for 4 nights away to celebrate my partner´s 60th birthday with family, we had numerous emails confirming the booking including one asking about email addresses, phone numbers, what time we would arrive etc. I called the park a few days before arrival to check they had a dvd player in the lodge. We were running late so I called the holiday park to let them know, I was told they had no record of our booking, I then quoted our booking reference number to which the lady replied she would take a look and call me back, when she called back she says that since we were from two households that they couldn´t accept the booking, I explained we were an extended household as my older sister lives alone and we help whenever we can, this fell on deaf ears, we were then told in no uncertain terms that our booking had been cancelled, I asked the question “why weren´t we informed if our booking had been cancelled?”, she had no reply, there was no apology and certainly didn´t sound like she had any regrets, my partner looked up the Scottish government guidelines on extended families in tourist accommodation. She rang back and read out the guidelines saying extended families were okay, again to no avail, since it was pointless arguing she put the phone down. If anyone is thinking of booking here I would advise against it as you may well drive for hours only to find they have no record of your booking or maybe they had double booked and it was first come first served!…
Stayed here as a family for 4 nights in one of the static caravans. The caravan was very clean and modern, we were very impressed. Even during these tough times, our check in was welcoming and friendly. The holiday park is situated in the most beautiful location, there is a lovely walk within the park grounds and lots of wildlife. There is even a football pitch and 2 play parks which our 3 year old loved. We were gutted to leave and certainly will be going back for future holidays.
We stayed here for 3 nights this month. Firstly the actual holiday Park is good and well maintained. The staff are nice as well. The lodge is a decent size but it massively needs refurbished. There is no phone service here and the WiFi doesn't work unless your near reception which is ages away. It really is annoying. The actual lodge doesn't appeared to have been decorated or refurbished in years and I'm sorry but it really shows now. I wouldn't return until the cabin is updated. It is in the middle of know where as well.
we have just returned from a 2 day stay with friends in THEIR own caravan and were told we couldnt have our dog because of the breed! Not keeping up with the times, living in the dark ages with the prejudice! No idea what temperament my dog is just discriminative because of breed! If qll dogs must be kept on lead does it really matter what breed? Also too many do's and dont's from other people who are staying, trying to enjoy a break unpacking your car and the regulars telling you where to park, not giving you minute to unpack! or telling you where and how to hang your washing!! Ridiculous! Wouldnt go back
