We booked this holiday on a spur of the moment once we realised that our foreign holiday was going to be difficult. We couldn't have asked for more (especially as we had perfect sunshine the week we were there) and it provided a great break after a pretty hectic year with Covid. Overall the holiday park is very well maintained with lovely and friendly staff. We stayed at one of the lodges which was perfect for what we needed however I can imagine some people would want a dishwasher and / or a washing machine. We weren't particularly bothered. The real benefit was the lack of phone reception (none on Vodafone and limited on EE) and patchy Wi-Fi. This meant we were perfectly cut off from work and other distractions so managed to spend a pleasant week as a family. There is lots to do in the local area but I would definitely recommend Lunan Bay as a great, wide, sandy beach for children and the waterfall near the holiday park. Only concern was the number of ticks where our youngest managed to pick up three over the week. Not difficult to remove but definitely something to be mindful of. Separately there were no midges here (after everybody warned us of them). Not sure if it was luck or the location.

We pre-booked a three bedroom lodge for the week to use as a base for golf.

We had a warm welcome on arrival.

The lodge was perfect for our requirements.the site as very peaceful and lodges very well spaced out.

Our lodge had a full kitchen, all the equipment and crockery you would need. The lodge was immaculately clean with a double room and two more bedrooms each with the twin beds. There is one bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The heating system was extremely efficient and there was hot water on demand.

You do need to provide your own towels.

Tea towel, dish cloth, tea towel and small amount of washing up liquid were provided. There is no dishwasher.

Be great if the owners considered installing a washing machine in the laundry room.

Shopping, there’s a Coop about 5 miles away or a Tesco in Blairgowrie, about 8 miles away.

Great week and have rebooked for next year.

Thank you so much for the wonderful 5 star review, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us so much. Although there is no washing machine in the lodge itself there are washing machines available in the laundry on park available for use by all guests. We look forward to welcoming you back again next year.

Stayed a few days in a static caravan here. Immaculately clean, well equipped and very nice to have the outside chairs and decking.
The beauty of this site is that it feels remote (but isn’t), very well spaced out plots and with a beautiful woodland walk and pond-perfect for picnic/evening drinks. The owners have high standards and this is reflected in the site as a whole. We hope to come back.

We had booked up for 4 nights away to celebrate my partner´s 60th birthday with family, we had numerous emails confirming the booking including one asking about email addresses, phone numbers, what time we would arrive etc. I called the park a few days before arrival to check they had a dvd player in the lodge. We were running late so I called the holiday park to let them know, I was told they had no record of our booking, I then quoted our booking reference number to which the lady replied she would take a look and call me back, when she called back she says that since we were from two households that they couldn´t accept the booking, I explained we were an extended household as my older sister lives alone and we help whenever we can, this fell on deaf ears, we were then told in no uncertain terms that our booking had been cancelled, I asked the question “why weren´t we informed if our booking had been cancelled?”, she had no reply, there was no apology and certainly didn´t sound like she had any regrets, my partner looked up the Scottish government guidelines on extended families in tourist accommodation. She rang back and read out the guidelines saying extended families were okay, again to no avail, since it was pointless arguing she put the phone down. If anyone is thinking of booking here I would advise against it as you may well drive for hours only to find they have no record of your booking or maybe they had double booked and it was first come first served!

Recently had a weekend break to Nethercraig with family ranging from 7 - 67 and it was the ideal place for us all to get together for a relaxing weekend. The park itself was so quiet and tranquil and we enjoyed the onsite woodland walk.

The lodge was fantastic and was a great place to relax in when not out exploring the local area. Each of the bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The living areas were well proportioned and the kitchen was well equipped with all we needed for making meals. The lodge was very cosy, the fire was really welcome at this time of year and heated the living areas up quickly. I've stayed in many lodges in the UK and I really liked how homely the lodge at Nethercraig felt - the colour scheme, lovely curtains, cushions and plants all helped to create a cosy, homely ambiance.

The park is in an ideal location for walking, there were so many beautiful areas to visit nearby. We spent time in Alyth and walked in the Den O' Alyth, which was gorgeous at this time of year. My son really enjoyed the tree swings he discovered in the Den. We enjoyed the scenic drive to Kirriemuir and visited the Peter Pan park, which my son absolutely loved and didn't want to leave. We stopped by the Reekie Linn waterfall on our way back from Kirriemuir but it's also possible to walk to it from the park.

Thank you to all at Nethercraig for such a peaceful, comfortable break.

What a change for a caravan park, bags of room between the caravans very well maintained grounds and very helpful and friendly staff. They even rang me to say I could get in early as the van was ready( 10.30am) but had no signal. Hardly any phone signal EE 2bars o2 forget it. There is WiFi but it is rural so you can just about read texts but no good if you want to watch a film talking of which the reception has hundreds of videos to lend, no charge, and I think most vans have a dvd player.
Small play area for the kids but a huge field to kick a ball about, play cricket or fly a kite and a brilliant wood land walk with pond. Farm shop 2 miles or go to Aylith for more shops. If you go to Glenisla stop at the hotel/bar for a meal or snack well worth the trip.
Came back totally relaxed.

Stayed here as a family for 4 nights in one of the static caravans.

The caravan was very clean and modern, we were very impressed. Even during these tough times, our check in was welcoming and friendly. The holiday park is situated in the most beautiful location, there is a lovely walk within the park grounds and lots of wildlife. There is even a football pitch and 2 play parks which our 3 year old loved.

We were gutted to leave and certainly will be going back for future holidays.

Beautiful holiday park, set in remote farmland which was very quiet with a lovely walk around the park, catching glimpses of wildlife and the glenisla river.
I would give it 5 but the internet wifi signal which was free, was beyond useless unfortunately. Mobile signal kept cutting out due to the location also, so if you still need to contact work whilst away, beware of this! Definitely return in any case.

Thank you for leaving us your 4 star review. Delighted that you were able to enjoy the beauty and nature here at Nethercraig. We do provide free WiFi however it is rural and therefore not as fast as we would like at times (unfortunately during your stay you may have found the WiFi service to be intermittent due to a local issue with the phone masts and connection line). However we have since updated our WiFi system so on your next return you should find a better connection. Look forward to welcoming you back again on your next visit.

We arrived at the site with 3 children. We were made to feel extremely welcome very quickly. We were checked in and paid £50.00 refundable deposit. We noted a little shop where you could hire or purchase items.

We chatted for sometime and was supported to our no.7 Perth Caravan.

The park is situated on a beautiful well maintained area.

Was pleasantly surprised when arrived , site was very well laid out . Had a great pitch. . There’s also washing machine available for use which is really handy.

Two small parks on site for kids but as we were out most of the time this was ideal.

we spoke to the owners who were extremely friendly, approachable.

There is no restaurant on site but plenty not too far away.

The site is in the country and middle of nowhere so had a secluded and safe feel

We'd definitely return

Thanks for our stay

We stayed here for 3 nights this month. Firstly the actual holiday Park is good and well maintained. The staff are nice as well.

The lodge is a decent size but it massively needs refurbished. There is no phone service here and the WiFi doesn't work unless your near reception which is ages away. It really is annoying. The actual lodge doesn't appeared to have been decorated or refurbished in years and I'm sorry but it really shows now. I wouldn't return until the cabin is updated. It is in the middle of know where as well.
