Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed for 3 nights B&B, with an evening meal on 2 nights. Clean hotel with all the facilities in working order. We had a lovely room with a view and great meals. The team working there were helpful and friendly. It’s a short walk to the bus and train station, there’s plenty of space in the private car park and there’s EV charging points in a public car park around the corner.

Checkin was done in advance on line, which resulted in an efficient handing over of the room keys and a quiet welcome from the receptionist/chef. Our room ( number 1) was spacious, bright and well appointed, although I’d have preferred a china cup for my tea/ coffee. On reflection I should have asked for one, but only thought of that now as I am writing this. Really liked the room service system, where the staff would only come on request. There are cards in the room which you complete if you need any extra tea, coffee, towels etc. We had both breakfast ( a preorder system, which worked perfectly) and dinner here every day of our 4 night break. Be warned, the full breakfast portions are huge, but looked amazing .Neither of us had the courage to try them, as it would have been a waste. The waiting staff were polite, efficient, and Liz on her duty mornings always had time for a friendly blether. We did have an issue with the TV in our room, which was annoying, but the hotel owners recompensed us with the most generous discount on our bill. Well done and thank you to everyone at Mcinnes House Hotel

My Family and I stayed at the McInnes House Hotel for Sept Weekend 2023, the Hotel was family friendly and immaculate and very clean throughout, the Staff member Bryan was very helpful throughout our stay here and made us feel very welcome, the Chefs Liz and Chris cooked our food to perfection and the portions of food sizes were good value for money and the kids loved the desserts available. The manager Robert ensured we had everything we needed during our stay, the rooms were up to date and had everything needed to make us feel at home. I would definitely recommend this Hotel and the staff if you are looking for somewhere to stay where you can relax and unwind the Mcinnes House Hotel is the place to go.

Beautiful hotel, welcoming and friendly staff and food superb, lovely comfy bed too and room equipped with everything you need, there is a nice area outside in gardens with garden tables, chairs and parasols, would be gorgeous on a nice sunny day, unfortunately we had rain on our stay but wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

I stayed at the Mcinnes hotel from the 28th of June and left this morning on the 1st of July. I’m not sure where to start my praise for this truly exemplary hotel; it was like a home away from home, which was such a lovely surprise as me and my older sister had travelled all the way from Suffolk for a 2 night stay and I hadn’t travelled so far from home in a while so I was little bit nervous after being stuck in Suffolk for so long. However any anxiety I had quickly diminished when we were greeted by some of the most lovely, professional and welcoming staff I’ve ever encountered. I have worked in the service industry for the majority of my working life and I aspire to be able to make people feel as welcome as the staff at the Mcinnes do. Liz!!! Where do I start!!! This lovely lady truly has a talent for people, her service was extraordinary she was extremely friendly and despite me mucking up my breakfast sheet by missing out my tea/coffee and toast option, she instantly sorted this out for us and made us laugh in the process, she really made us feel at home. Peter was also absolutely brilliant, he gave us recommendations for where to go and see and was again super friendly and hospitable! A superb host and cook as the food he made was utterly mouth watering after I had possibly the best salad I had ever eaten. Chris the chef made a mean breakfast and only meeting him briefly was absolutely lovely, I would love to try some more of his food! We met Robert briefly and again what a lovely man! We personally thanked him for such a wonderful stay and he assured us he would pass the message on to other staff which was so kind of him. Peter and himself can sure run a hotel!! So over all, i HIGHLY recommend this hotel and we will be sure to return to visit again, I mean we loved it there so much we booked an extra night and I’m so happy we did. Again thank you for such a wonderful couple of days, the only negative I have is that we weren’t there longer <3

Liz from the staff was a delightful lady who made our crew feel right at home. Very good quilts and pillows - mattress wasn’t the best. The fluorescent white lights in the room aren’t exactly cosy to be around in the evening.
