We'd booked Arden House for a long weekend break. The entire stay lived up to and even exceeded the positive reviews we'd read before booking.

Firstly, Janet and Graham were fantastic hosts who made us feel welcome throughout our entire stay. They were both very accommodating and great to chat with (for example, we learned a lot about the local area from Graham while being served breakfast) but without making us feel smothered. As an example, we were even offered a lift to the Hidhland Wildlife Park after we'd misread the bus times, which really helped us out. They also have two very friendly and well-behaved dogs, who we enjoyed meeting!

The accommodation itself was immaculate while also having a lot of character. The beds were comfortable, the room was kept warm and cozy, and a great selection of complimetary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and biscuits was provided in the room.

There was also a good amount of choice for breakfast, including vegetarian options, and the food itself was freshly cooked and delicious.

Finally, the location is great, too. Kingussie is a lovely town surrounded by beautiful countryside, and the B&B is situated only a stone's throw away from bus stops, the train station, and the town centre. The Highland Wildlife Park is also situated just a short bus ride away.

We'll definitely be back next time we're visiting the area.

Staying here was a delight. It is a lovely guest house where great care and attention is paid to all of the small details, and especially to the guests.

It is cosy - even though the rooms are all large and airy - and really well decorated. The owner is very friendly and extremely helpful. Plus the breakfast is amazing: everything is freshly baked or prepared with lots of choice, including for all dietary requirements.

There is a lovely lounge with a real fire would you wish to spend time reading or relaxing; and in the summer, there are seats in the garden.

It is very well located for exploring the Cairngorms and is a short stroll into the town should you need shops, or other amenities.

Arden House deserves its 'Excellent' rating.

Arden House was the perfect choice for our 4 night stay in the Cairngorms National Park. We loved our stay here and can't recommend enough to friends and family. Beautiful walks right behind the b&b and very close to Aviemore for lots of activities on the lochs and river. Breakfast each morning was delicious - lots of choice and prepared us very well for the day ahead! Stayed in the Genfiddich room which was fab! Very comfy bed and great views. Lots of special touches during our stay and after a long days hike having a takeaway in the breakfast/ dining room was perfect whist chatting to other guests made a memorable and great evening! Graham and Janet were lovely hosts and their place is very special - we wish them continued success and will be back on our future adventures in the highlands. Highly recommend. Best wishes, James & Lizzie

Once again, we’ve had an excellent stay at Arden House. Janet and Graham are by far the best B&B hosts, we cannot recommend them highly enough. Very accommodating for providing vegan cooked breakfasts and offering help no matter the time of day. Kingussie is perfectly located for Loch Insh, Aviemore, and the wider Cairngorms. Already planning our next stay.

Our room was very spacious and of top quality and the bathroom very clean and luxurious.
A lovely freshly cooked breakfast awaited us every morning ( vegetarian option available ) , as well a friendly and informative chat with Graham And Janet , the owners , about the local area.
Kingussie is a lovely place with very good travel connections ( just off the A9 and also has a train station very near by). It is also very good base if you like outdoor pursuits.
I hope they can see through these troubling times and re-visit as soon as I can.

We were so pleased we had gone ahead with our short break at the Arden House. Our host's have anticipated that in these challenging time's, people first and foremost want to feel safe. They have ensured that all reasonable steps are being taken in this respect.

Our room was extremely comfortable. We had 2 good night's sleep. Bathroom was modern, and the shower spot on....who likes a cool, dripping shower these day's???!!.

Breakfast was tasty and there was more than enough.

Graham and Janet were delightful host's that balanced friendliness with giving people space in their home. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone. We very much look forward to visiting again.

Friendly and welcoming hosts who went out of their way to make our stay perfect. They even provide crockery, cutlery, condiments and a pot of tea in the dining room if you want to take a take-away back. Excellent breakfast with an extensive menu and made with locally sourced and high quality produce (including vegetarian). Large, comfortable room and well appointed with plenty of storage, ensuite, drinks making facilities and lots of biscuits. Great location for exploring the Cairngorm national Park and further afield.

Absolutely superb; lovely house, great rooms, fantastic breakfast (thanks Janet) and great hospitality. Graham is a marvellous host, nothing too much trouble - stored and charged our EMTBs and loads of local knowledge. Will definitely be back as it’s absolutely perfect for exploring the area. Thanks again. Really appreciated. Adrian and Tim

Had a wonderful week staying at the lovely Arden House with Janet and Graham (and Ossie and Isla). Ideally situated in Kingussie, there was loads for us to do within a short drive. Janet’s brilliant veggie breakfasts each morning were complemented by Graham’s warmth and humour. Thank you so much, we’ll be back soon (if the weather is ever as good again).

Sorry this is a bit late but you can catch a train to Dalwhinnie from Kingussie. Not very frequent so check first. 1km walk to distillery from station.
